Guys and dolls, welcome to the reincarnation of the Mystic Tavern! Below you'll find a description of our beloved MT, its grounds, and the ancient (sometimes foreboding) land beyond. (Hold tight -- this is in the works!)
Additionally, we've put together some easy-to-read instructions on how to join, create a character, and launch a chat window from a selected thread. Remember to leave your comments/questions/suggestions(/poems/limericks/naughty jokes) over in the OOC forums. After joining, be sure to review the rules...and take a peek at the IC threads! We'd love, love, love for you to join in on the plots; after all, it's the writers who made the Mystic Tavern what it was. We need to rejoin each other and make for ourselves a truly awesome community here!

2012 might signal the end of the world for some, but for the Mystic Tavern, it's going to be a year of rebirth and renewed love for roleplaying.
I need as many of you as possible on board with this. Let's make this site into a teeming community of wonderful writers -- and friends! -
How To...
JOIN
On RPR’s main page, click “register” -- you’ll be taken to a page asking you to create a username, password, etc. Fill in the required information to create an account with the RP Repository. If successful, this message should pop up on the page: “Check your email and follow the link in the welcome message we just sent. That's it!”
Click the link provided for you in the email. Simply clicking actually verifies your account –- how easy is that?! After your account is verified, you can log in to RPR and take the next step: either create a character (required for posting/chatting in IC forums) or immediately head to the Mystic Tavern for some OOC lurking. If you’re headed directly to the Tavern –- character be damned –- click the “join” option at the top of any MT page. You’ll be asked to fill out an application (don’t worry, it’s short!) and, after you’re approved, you’ll be privy to aaaaall of the Mystic’s plots and gossip.
CREATE A CHARACTER
If you’d like to create a character before creepin’ around the Mystic Tavern, click the “Create a New Character” button on your RPR home page. Follow the prompts; when you get to the next page (the one asking you to set up a page for your character), choose the “Quickstart Wizard” option...it’s the easiest (by far).
Using the Quickstart Wizard, you can add social information, background facts, etc. to your character -- feel free to skip the parts you’re not interested in. I, for example, skipped it all and opted to add only a picture to Leetah’s profile. (We have a place for all of that in the Tavern forums too, by the way!) When you’re done, or if you’re like me and decided to skip it, click the “Create My Page!” button. You’ll be taken to your character’s public profile; again, feel free to monkey with it. If you just want to get down to business and join the Mystic, head here! At the top of the page is an option to join.
LAUNCH A CHAT WINDOW
First thing's first: you'll need a character to post in an IC thread. See above for how to create one. Once you've created a character, head over to the IC forum and click on the thread in which you're hoping to chat. For example, our Masquerade Ball will be taking place in several locations -- the frozen lake, the tavern's interior, etc. -- and we'll have a thread set up for each. Click on your chosen thread, scroll to the bottom of replies, and click on the "Launch Chat" button. Donezo bananas -- you're in the chat room!
One of the coolest chat features here (as you've no doubt noticed, if you've been lurking) is the "recording" feature. All of our live chats are recorded in the forums! In real(-ish) time, no less! Additionally, we can have as many chat windows open as we need/want. If your character arrives at the tavern but then wanders down to the lake, you can have both chat windows open at the same time. A super-helpful "click-click" noise alerts you to when another user has posted in the chat room(s). -
