Timeless…

That was the word that stuck with her as she looked up at the structure before her. It was familiar, yet alien. It was a ghost of a memory that she had never had. It called and it repelled.

Though as she found herself taking a small step forward, the grass that her bare feet caressed giggled and whispered of those who had come before and those who had never returned, she found that she would rather heed the Call…

Bells laughed with the soft breeze that made the layers of sapphire silk that adorned her torso down to just over her knee caress her skin. Seemingly long, pale limbs extended and moved gracefully, glowing as if in moonlight. Each movement brought a new tinkling of bells from her ankles and wrists.

She moved closer to the tavern, the grass and wind tirelessly whispering of memories that she had never had as nameless blossoms seemed to bloom among the silver and gold strands that cascaded from her head and playfully tickled her bare back, right down to the curve where the silk seemed to decide to materialize and adorn her form before any sort of modesty could be infringed upon. The blossoming flowers smelled different with each bloom, enticing and alluring, unique to each one who took in their scent, and as they fell, they left a light, pleasantly scented trail that could be followed to wherever she had decided to place herself.

Slender fingers curled around the dead wood as the door creaked open and she carefully peered inside, taking in the ghosts of memories and bodies that were before her. Starlight touched sapphire pools looked out into the open space that was the main room and her lips turned up in a delicate grin, not quite revealing the pearly white teeth that were behind the pink flesh. In a blue of pale flesh, sapphire silk, and silvery gold hair, she darted into the room and deposited five feet of female behind the bar, her attention already fixed on a bottle on the high shelf.

One bare foot tinkled slightly as the bells were jostled with the movement of foot to shelf, but it quickly changed to a more melodic sound as her limbs moved, carrying her higher and higher as she eagerly made her way towards her prize.

‘Death…Death…Death walks and whispers…Always stalking…Waiting…Eager to feed and grasp what is Life…’ The long dead wood spoke, the knowledge and experiences from its living life forgotten in favor of the dead life it had. Though she knew to heed the warning. ‘Timeless’ meant that even the dead wood had memories, and knowledge of what may come to occur. Slender fingers wrapped around the neck of the bottle she had sought before she dropped to the floor in a small flurry of silk, petals, and softly chiming bells.

She crouched low as she approached the bar, slowly rising so her shorter form could peer over the expanse of wood to the door and quickly drop down when she saw the threat that the dead wood of this place had warned her of. She had no weapon, so in theory, she was no threat. No one should try to bother her…

‘But that isn’t always how things go…’ the dead wood whispered to her. She quickly “shhed” it before she heard the nearly thunderous sounding steps of someone approaching the door. As it swung open, her eyes took in the sight before she quickly dropped back behind the counter and pretended that she wasn’t there…After all, she couldn’t see them, they couldn’t see her…Right?

‘But it never works that way…’ She “shhed” the wood again, but she doubted it would listen.
