There was a missing manx at dinner.
The announcement that their herbivorous countrymen could now be killed ― and eaten, but he didn't want to think about that part ― legally and without repercussion from the county courts across the country had him kicked into high gear. From then on Rex could be seen patrolling much as he did in the old days for those that knew him prior to his fall from "glory" that preceded his arrival (read: banishment) to the island. He was armed and armored, absolutely ready to rock. This was, he reminded himself, treason... but these were also different times; this was not the same Crown he had proudly pledged an oath to in a starstruck manner unlike him. Few likely trusted him enough to ask for his aid throughout the past fortnight but those that did would be assisted in any way he could. Rebel Rex was apparently an entirely different manx indeed!
But last night, the very night that Lady Haala had scheduled her celebratory dinner, Rex couldn't be found. What a night to miss! The murderous manx would have champed at the bit to get in on such action as he had been itching all week for someone to "go ahead and make his day" with a rather sadistic grin. Even then he could have given an excuse at least once he finally did rear his head ― maybe he was stuck hunting in the woods? But no Rex surfaced to defend himself. Did he run away in fear of these rebellious pirates? Drank himself into a stupor perhaps?
Everyone could decide for themselves but a few facts remained immune to the sway of opinion: Rex was gone, nowhere to be found in any building or dense track of jungle on the island. He didn't even leave a note! Should anyone search his home or habitual haunts they'd find everything just as he would have left it, no sign of any struggle could be found aside from the remnants of the pirate's assault all around the manor.

Belated wrap up post!
The manx quietly made his return to the settlement some months ago. Despite being back he's made himself scarce and is, for the moment, a ghost of the man that left. It's rumored that he's missing some teeth and toes but seems otherwise whole... still, best not to approach him.
