  • A Bit of Tragic History

Months have passed since a tenebrous evil erupted within the walls of the once great city of Fordun. Fordun, now nothing but rubble and ruin, was once home to the largest army on the continent of Tuun and governed by one of the strongest heroes the world had ever known. That man's name was Aerik. Having foreseen the evil that would come to be using illegal temporal magic, the hero rose through the ranks of leadership until he had become the city's Supreme Chancellor. Forced to rule with an iron fist in order to complete his army to combat the evil that drew near, his last days would have him infamously branded as a cruel dictator.

The force that opposed him was that of Tuun's Lich, Korsah. Although powerful in the ways of sorcery, the wicked Lich knew he could not face the army that awaited him alone. Using the negative image of the great hero against him, the Lich deceived a band of promising adventurers to help him take down Aerik's forces. In the final hours of Fordun's glory, the Lich stormed the great city with his misled adventurers and an army of demonic creatures. In the aftermath of the battle, there was nothing but ruin and death. The Lich's forces slaughtered not only Aerik's army, but the innocent that inhabited Fordun. Among those slain was Aerik himself, finally brought to an end under the strength of the Lich's adventurers.

But Korsah's wickedness would not stop there. No, he would not rest until all human life was eradicated from the world. Now realizing the grave mistake the adventurers had made, they tried their best to stop the Lich. But the battle-worn adventurers were no match for the Lich's great power and they too fell in battle, becoming just another casualty among the thousands. Using the souls of all the innocent lost in the slaughter, Korsah summoned Oeb Sidd, a powerful demon monster banished to the void centuries ago be the first magic user, Grey. Once the beast was summoned, the Lich used forbidden magic to absorb Oeb Sidd, acting as a medium for its power and controlling it with the intent of eradicating all human life along with the help of his dark forces. Wielding a power the likes of which the world had not seen in lifetimes, Korsah began his malevolent campaign across Tuun, spreading desolation and suffering.

    A Paragon of Futility

Near the eastern edge of the continent of Tuun lay a small but up and coming city founded by a courageous and humble leader. Vithkoth, once a loyal inhabitant of Fordun, spoke out against the actions of Supreme Chancellor Aerik and was subsequently exiled. Leading a group of dedicated followers with him from the walls of the doomed city, he marched east toward the vast plains of Tuun's undiscovered lands. There he laid claim to the soil on which he would build a place free from subjugation; the newborn city of Tairsah. Years would pass, and the settlement would rise from a small village to a large metropolis.

Such success would be short lived, however. Soon, Korsah's campaign of destruction would be marching upon the walls of Tairsah. His demonic army has already cut down nearly half off all human life on Tuun. You, a denizen of Tairsah, have nowhere to run, no sanctuary free from the Lich's terror. Supplies drop in tandem with morale as every waking day is another reminder that you won't be able to hold out for long. How will you shape the inevitable fall of Tairsah? Will you fight for its land, standing tall against the forces of evil that overwhelm the entire world for the purpose of protecting its helpless citizens, or fight to preserve your life for what little time it has left on this world? Whatever motive drives you, the ultimate goal is survival.
