BranchWood's Origin

  • History of BranchWood + Family

The tales of the BranchWood family are ones of grief and struggles. The family had never been well established on the continent of Alinixia. Instead, the BranchWood family had always struggled with poverty and were always on the move. The family was unlike a majority of the families on Alinixia and seemed to always stick out.

On Alinixia families often times were dedicated to one kind of class. However, The BranchWood family was wide spread having many Magicians, Nethers, Weapon Masters and much more among their family. Due to this, the BranchWood family was considered unique and often times recognized. However, even though the name of the BranchWood family was known for their uniqueness, the family still struggled with their everyday actions.

As the generations continued the BranchWood family had slowly became more established in Alinixia. Eventually the family had managed to work directly under the Magician's Council. This had been a major turning point in the families history allowing them to finally live life normally. This had not lasted for a long time though and soon enough the time of peace on Alinixia was cut short.

The peace had been ended by the invasion of a species called Orcs. The attack had occurred without warning and a majority of Alinixia had been overthrown. This marked the beginning of the Orc Conquest of year 354. The Magician's Council leader, Eryx Tanek, hadn't seen the Orcs as an immediate threat and let them be. At this time, the Magician's Council had their eyes set on dealing with one man named Voxic and his fellow accursed.

With the Magician's Council on standby other families directly under them were also standing by. All families except the BranchWood were content with the orders of the Magician's Council. Against the law of the Magician's Council the BranchWood family joined the defense against the onslaught of the orcs. Those defending against the orcs had managed to reclaim a decent amount of land lost to the orcs.

The land that was reclaimed was not kept for long. As soon enough the orcs came back with the full intent to kill the inhabitants of Alinixia. The defense of Alinixia quickly fell and a majority of the BranchWood family had been slain. The defense of Alinixia being overthrown had finally been enough for the Magician's Council to switch priorities. However, by this point it had been to late and everyone had been pushed into the depths of Alinixia.

The Orcs had managed to conquer over eighty percent of Alinixia's land. This left the Magician's Council and Grand Master Forgers to fend for themselves against the Orcs onslaught. The Magician Council leader, Eryx Tanek, called forth some of the world's best warriors to gather. The warriors consisted of Scygard - The Loyal a general who had worked under the Grand Master Forgers for several years now. Gilfer Ro-Cael, An Orc and Elf cross breed who had shown potential during the era of Supremacy. Quade Alveron, The Warden of the Dread Jail which held the world's worst criminals. Finally, Alydorn Kavet a mighty Nether known to win even the most one sided fights.

These warriors had set out from Alinixia to Orrorio, the Orc continent. On Alinixia the remnants of the BranchWood family rejoined the side of the Magician's Council and Grand Master Forgers as the final line of defense. The end of the orc's invasion occurred once Eryx Tanek came forth to the front lines. Eryx Tanek was accompanied by the head of the BranchWood family and several other families. Eryx Tanek and these families quickly plowed through the Orcs on Alinixia reclaiming the land for themselves once more. This ended up costing Eryx Tanek, the strongest Magician on Alinixia, a large portion of his power. This left Eryx Tanek weaker than he had ever been before and unable to restore the magic he had used.

The Orc war eventually came to an end with Scygard The Loyal returning with the head of Maul-tork the Orc Warchief. Life on Alinixia had slowly returned back to normal after the death of the Orc Warchief and the end of the war. The orcs had payed a major price under the rule of Maul-tork losing over sixty percent of their entire population. The inhabitants of Orrorio slowly connected with Alinixia and global trade between the two continents had began.

The whereabouts of Alydorn Kavet, Gilfer Ro-Cael and Quade Alveron were not known after the end of the war. The only man to return had been Scygard The Loyal and he had gained all the fame for the death of Maul-tork. As such, Scygard had been crowned the third hero of the world. The first hero being Commander Bayliff, a warrior during the Weapon Master vs Magician's war. The second hero being Feldar Verdince, a Templar who gave his life in the era of Darkness to kill Korgoth the Master of Darkness.

The BranchWood family had suffered major casualties during the war against Maul-tork and left only three members of the family alive. The remaining members of the BranchWood family approached the Magician's Council and Grand Master Forgers with an idea to prevent disasters like this in the future. The concept, an Academy run by the strongest warriors to train others like themselves. The academy would come to be known as BranchWood Academy, due to the family who came up with the concept.

Unfortunately, the first HeadMaster of BranchWood Academy, Mr. BranchWood himself had died in its early years. The Academy was left with no legitimate heirs and was almost shut down before the Gravin family had stepped up to run it. The Gravin family decided to keep the name of the Academy, BranchWood, in remembrance of those who risked their life during the great conquest of the orcs.

BranchWood Academy had originally opened in 364, a year after the end of the Orc Conquest. Mr. BranchWood had died in 369 and the Gravin family had also taken over at this time. After the rise of BranchWood Academy, the concept of the Academy quickly spread across Alinixia. Soon enough in 371, there were more than twenty Academies similar to BranchWood across the entire continent. However, BranchWood Academy still stood as the top Academy with some of the best teachers Alinixia had to offer.

BranchWood Academy in particular was funded by both the Magic Council and Grand Master Forgers. There had only been one other Academy in the past to gain funding from the two and that was Tanek Academy. Tanek Academy had been open in the one hundreds before the Tanek family had even been a part of the Magician's Council. Everyone from the continent of Alinixia with the intentions to grow stronger look towards the Academies. Out of all the Academies, BranchWood Academy doesn't have any entrance fees. Instead, the Academy puts you through a test and evaluates you by your skills. If you fall below the standard that they are looking for you are rejected. If rejected from BranchWood Academy, you must than wait for the next opening. Openings for BranchWood Academy are exceptionally rare and are only done every year or two.
