The Sapphire Bazaar

The first look

The Sapphire Bazaar is a hidden place located beneath a mountain range. Primary access to the Bazaar is through a cave at the termination of a river. Since the cave's entrance is up-stream, and impediments to water passage have been added purposefully, there is only one boat which travels the waters by magical means to very swiftly bring people and goods up-stream to the Bazaar. This boat is controlled by the Queen of the Bazaar, and she can be quite strict on who or what she allows to use the easy route to her lands.

The other way, of course, is to travel by horse or foot up the length of the river to the cave, and the route is arduous. There is rumor of a portal controlled by the Queen, connected by a network of portal keepers spread throughout the world, however their use is also strictly controlled...and strictly taxed.

The Bazaar itself is a haven for those with goods of questionable legality or origin. A place where wanted men and women can rest easy, and sell their wares as if they weren't being hunted just for having them. The Bazaar also houses a number of people with exclusively illegal skills, from counterfeiters to masters of forgery or craftsmen of illicit potions and potables.

Giant Spiders are often on the royal menu, and highly sought after by the Queen's cook.
