In the center of a gleaming, pure white room a behemoth knelt. The stark white marble reflected the light spilling in from a hole in the vaulted ceiling. If not for the barely audible, incessant mumbling from the blemish upon the room, it would be entirely silent. The half orc sat on his heels, head to the ceiling, eyes closed, mumbling "Only after it has been choked by darkness, the world will bathe in the light." Karrig spoke these words as much out of habit as to calm his frustration at sitting idle. His monstrous hands traced the tattoo like scars adorning his body, each on an excerpt from the tome chained to his waist, each pertaining to sacrifice. As he finished tracing the last scar across his colossal chest mumbling, "Only after it has been choked by darkness," the light filling the room went out.
The Goliath's yellow eyes opened, a grin that could only come from a caged beast being unleashed spread across his face as he finished the line, "The world will bathe in the light." Now that the time was finally upon him, Karrig couldn't help but linger in the last remaining warmth of the light. As Karrig savored the waning heat, the doors to the sanctum were heaved open. Immediately the stench of evil washed over The Tower of Bel. "Hmph, room already checked," came the unintelligent speech of a barbarian orc. The orc and his two companions turned to leave whereas the demon leading them stepped forward cautiously. "No, this one stinks of the Light." Without rising from his position, Karrig spoke plainly, "Tools of destruction are not permitted within the Light's sanctum. Place them outside." While the orcs looked at each other perplexed, the Demon laughed, "The traditions of your pathetic deity are of no concern to me." With incredible speed Karrig flew at the demon, pinning it against the white marble wall. His right hand wrapped around the demon's skull, left hand holding the demon off the ground by its chest. "Your kind," Karrig snarled, "is not welcome in this world, or this chamber." Karrig's yellow eyes began emanating light that spread through his body until it reached the hand upon the demon's skull. AS the light touched the demon it began shrieking in primal agony. The demon's cries were silenced as light began spilling out of its eyes and mouth before disintegrating in a brilliant flash.
With his eyes still slightly aglow, Karrig turned to the stunned orcs. "Brothers, I offer you the chance for redemption, lay down your tools of darkness and be reborn through the Light." The three orcs looked at each other, weighing their options. Despite their low intelligence, they succeeded in reaching a silent agreement; their fear for Lucien and lust for battle was greater than their apprehension toward Karrig. Before the orcs attacked, Karrig looked down and shook his head saying, "A pity you feel that way." The larger of the three charged, swinging his ax across his body in an attempt to cleave through Karrig's body. Karrig stepped into the swing, catching the hilt in his right hand while bringing his left forward into the orcs chest. Ribs splintered, and the orc flew back releasing the ax before crumpling into a heap of labored breathing. "No tools of destruction in the Sanctum!" Karrig bellowed as he tossed the ax out of the room. The remaining two attempted to flank Karrig to minimize the size discrepancy, their plan would have been sound had their quarry not bull rushed one of them eliminating their tactical advantage. As the orc hit the ground Karrig stomped upon its wrist, placing his full weight upon it while kicking the weapon out of the room. The final orc, undeterred by the state of his companions, rushed the half breed. A massive fist slammed into the side of the charging orc's head, ending its charge prematurely.
Karrig hauled the three orcs out of the Sanctum and retrieved his equipment while waiting for the orcs to regain consciousness. As he was donning his armor, one of the orcs woke up and with labored breathing forced out, "Thought no weapons in Sanctum." Devoid of emotion Karrig replied, "We are no longer in the Sanctum, I may now freely end your life. I pray that you find redemption in the afterlife and that the light accepts your atonement." Struggling to sit upright, but failing to overcome the pain in his chest, the orc spat, "Go to Hell." A smile spread across Karrig's face, "I would gladly, so that I could eradicate your cohorts." After clasping on his last piece of armor, the half orc lifted up his full blade and brought it down on each of the orcs in turn. Once the orcs were dispatched, Karrig set about cleaning the blood from his blade. "May your bodies serve as a warning to any who would defile this temple."
As Karrig left the temple he focused on his task, finding the army and helping them turn the tide of the war, instead of how the sun no longer held the same warmth.";
