A letter can be found tacked to the wall of the mage's college.
"Attention, students and visitors
Due to recent events within the college the upper and lower floors shall be locked and warded with a defensive spell picked at random by my husband. To access the upper and lower floors safely, you must speak with myself or my husband to receive the key.
Work stations have been enchanted to protect the work of students. This is twice now that someone has utterly destroyed the work of students and the third time the college has nearly exploded. The enchantment shall act as a solid barrier to those that approach without an enchanted piece of jewellery. To those with this piece, they will be able to pass through without issue. Hopefully this will cut down on accidents.
The barrier will need to be dusted off every morning.
Keep in mind this is not done just for your safety, but for my family's, and the safety of the town as well. We do not want a repeat of the tornado incident.
