A creature has been attacking all who travel the road between Yveridia and Raffamond. Several families and merchants have offered a substantial reward to any single Beast Slayer capable of locating whatever is responsible and killing it. The monster's head is to be severed and presented at the Briary as proof that the contract has indeed been completed.

Arnold Gilderoy of Yveridia seeks the aid of a mage, although any fighters or beast slayers willing to help him would be greatly compensated as well. He claims to suffer the same nightmare every time he goes to sleep, and according to Gilderoy, "each day (he) wakes up, (he) feels weaker." The applicant feels that either a man or monster is penetrating his dreams and robbing him of his very soul, bit by bit. Willing contractors are advised to seek aid from the Mages College. Gilderoy claims that so long as his dreams are no longer invaded, he will gladly compensate any and all that are capable of aiding him, however, he is also offering a bonus to anyone that is able to discover the source of his misery and destroy it, if applicable.
