The screens of the HARKnet, wherever they may be; either in diners, bars, or even personal browsing devices, had been streaming normal, ordinary stories all day long. Until now. They abruptly flicker, the audio cuts out, and for at least a full thirty seconds, the screens are black. People will seem confused.
Then, a crackle, and a flicker. The screens turn pure white, and then distort and shred into skewed shapes and figures that don't seem to make any sense. There's some kind of odd array of symbols, with no distinct pattern, that start formulating out on screen.
Then, with a barely audible screech, the screens flick back to normal.
