OOC Conduct
First and foremost: be respectful!
A major driving force behind this setting was to provide a mature and respectful place for players where everyone would feel welcome and valued - we have a very firm no tolerance policy for harmful behavior here (OOC). We want to take a welcoming environment to the next level, where diversity is celebrated and members feel they can be themselves without judgment or mockery.
Do this, and the rest will follow.
The RPR boards and OOC chat rooms - including Discord, Skype, and Furcadia - comprise Trivantis' community hub. While these spaces may not always have a moderator on duty, you're still expected to conduct yourself appropriately! Even if you have a personal history with a fellow player, please do your best to be civil to one another while in public. Any concerns can be taken to a moderator, who will be happy to address them to the best of their ability.
Encouraged Behavior
- Remember! We're looking to be more of an organized RP environment with a lot of communication between players and a focus on creative writing. You need to put in the effort to create a story with your fellow players, not wait for it to come to you - generally speaking, once you get to know another player and characters cross paths for the first time, things will naturally develop from there!
- Please think of the public boards as rated PG-13: try to keep the use of questionable language and conduct, if not to a tasteful minimum, at least reasonable.
- That being said, post content advisories when/if applicable before any logs, forum scenes or in-dream links if you feel there's anything potentially upsetting or if the content falls outside of the ballpark rating of 'safe for work'. Be considerate, use your best judgment, and accommodate the feelings of others best as you are able.
- Any NSFW links that won't be covered by RPR's warning system in your in-game desc must contain a warning. Absolutely no links to fetish lists in your desc.
- The Imaginarium of Furcadia, and consequently the dreams within it, including ours, are restricted to players aged M16+. You can find their ratings standards here.
Quote:Why The Imaginarium? Why Trivantis is M16+ instead of A18+
Furcadia has difficult rating standards and associated maps - FurN seems to claim the majority of 'quality' settings due to the allowance of free violence and sexuality, but at the exchange of limitations. This dream has slavery as a historical element to explore and the ethics of it are being gradually questioned by local society - it does not exist as your fetish fuel.
While we desperately want you to have the freedom to write as you want, we want it in order to encourage realism of interaction - which includes violence and suggestions of sexuality, but also includes the existence of children.
We strongly believe that a setting without children is one lacking an important social element and damages suspension of disbelief - especially in a large city where they should be found in abundance. It removes too much of an element of realism and denies characters the ability to be parental figures or have younger associations of any kind, which is unacceptable. We are willing to sacrifice the details of darker scenes in public for their inclusion. - Adults, don't solicit minors for ERP. Minors, don't solicit adults. IC or OOC, we have a zero tolerance policy for this sort of behavior. While interactions of a more violent or sensual nature can be eluded to in characters of age and characters are certainly allowed to 'be themselves', any actual roleplay of such is expected to be kept in private spaces.
The use of 'fading to black' is encouraged when posting scenes of a risque nature.
Discouraged Behavior
There is absolutely no tolerance for disrespectful or toxic behavior. You're subject to both reprimands and ejection by staff members for violations of this rule, followed by a temporary or even permanent ban after subsequent warnings, depending on the severity of your actions.
IC wrote:Just remember to not let this discourage you from engaging in healthy, mature discussions (even debates) or staying true to character - particularly when it comes to exploring these themes in writing. It's perfectly fine and even expected for your character to be a bigot of some kind and exploring the social dynamics and the flawed perceptions of historical cultures is a big part of this setting. Just don't be a villain OOC!- Player Harassment and Abuse. This includes, but is not limited to degrading insults, slurs, or a refusal to leave someone alone after they've requested cessation. It also includes criticism or mockery of a character or individual in public spaces - they don't have the ability to defend themselves and it's just poor conduct.
- This also includes any degrading insults, statements, or slurs made in regards to gender, sex, orientation, race, or any other form of social and personal identity.
Everybody Matters.
- Disrespect includes not using the work of other artists without permission - credit is not enough! This sort of behavior is considered akin to theft in our community and will accordingly be dealt with.
Regarding FaceclaimsWe understand that players desire reference images and may not be able to afford art, but we strongly discourage the use of photographic reference in your profiles outside of tasteful flavor (such as useful gif) or reference links intended for artistic direction - particularly in higher concentrations of images and especially when uncredited and used less for rough comparison / trait approximation and more for direct and full reference. This is arguably an antithesis to the very foundation of roleplay, which is imagination and creative writing - we're here to create together, so please rely on descriptions first and images later.
If you absolutely cannot handle having a lack of visual representation, we'd like to encourage either putting together credited referential material alongside primarily text and/or find alternative representation through free-to-use dolls and character generators.
- Spam. This disrupts the peace of any community space, needless to say please refrain. That isn't to say you can't have energetic conversation! There's a difference between having fun and pointlessly or aggressively filling up the screen with your text. If you're actually interacting with other people in some way and staying on topic, you're probably not spamming - even if you have a lot to say.
- Please, also hold back the urge to advertise other dreams or groups without Rah permission first. You're always welcome to announce commissions as an artist however, as long as you're not just passing through to do so or doing such in a disruptive and/or repetitive manner. The selling of Furcadia alts - including links in your description - is not an activity supported by our staff and subsequently is not allowed.
Any initial violations risk receiving a private warning and/or ejection from the dream; anything more may result in a ban from the dream and removal from the RPR group.
If you find yourself being harassed, please put the offender on ignore, alert us moderators ASAP, and provide logs when or if you can. We don't bite, we swear!
Contacting one of Furcadia's Guardians is also strongly recommended in addition to this. - Remember! We're looking to be more of an organized RP environment with a lot of communication between players and a focus on creative writing. You need to put in the effort to create a story with your fellow players, not wait for it to come to you - generally speaking, once you get to know another player and characters cross paths for the first time, things will naturally develop from there!
