Due to recent events, Officer Adam Hero has been relieved of his badge as of 02/19/2017.
The reasoning that your characters will know ICly is that Officer Hero wanted to focus more on building his family and has retired. He will be going on a vacation to celebrate his new retirement and then enjoy his free time as he pleases. This is what is being said on the record.
OOCly, on 02/19/2017, the character broke one of the main rules on NV proper, exposing supernatural to the mundane on a large scale. We are not that realistic of a police department, I get that. But no police department is ever empty. You have hookers and drunks and druggies brought in off the streets from 10pm to the early mornings, officers on the overnight shifts, hell.. janitors milling about.
"But what if it was in an office?"
See this? This is what the entrance to a detective's office would look like. Big windows and while the detective is within? The blinds would be open. You can see right in there. There's visibility for accountability. Nothing is hidden.
So what happens now?
Lazarus will have stepped in and escorted Adam off premises, no doubt to their holding area for questioning and 'rehabilitation'. It will most likely be for a period of over a week. Your character cannot know of this because it will be instant and under wraps.
There was a gas leak from a burst pipe to explain away any possible hallucinations and anyone claiming to have seen a horse would have been advised to visit a hospital to make sure they weren't overexposed to gases. Druggies and drunks most likely believed they were just.. well.. drunk/high.
Remember the NVPD does follow ALL rules of NV and the consequences are the same for everyone. Let's try to keep things fun by not breaking the rules!
