I wake up in the middle of a forest not remembering what happened, the last i remember is that i sat in a garden then all went black, and now i am here in a forest gods know where. I stand up and start looking around.
He walks down the small road at the start of Wicked Woods Forest. There is not really a reason to why he is walking, he just is. But at the same time it feels like some kind of other power is drawing him towards something, but not really something that is surpposed to be rushed, just taking its time. He looks a bit around, wondering where the path he seems to go is taking him.
Tulipea had been wandering around the forest for some useful plants and berries, with no luck at the moment. Instead she found a lost being, she slowly approached him with calm and slow steps. "You seem lost." She stated. The dryad looked around to see if any of the nature around them was harmed from this intruder wandering around in confusion.
I startle at the voice and look over at the being close to me, and from what i read through all the books when i was dead i know it is a dryad.
Uhmm yea i have no idea where i am, one moment i am in this garden in the afterlife, the next everything goes black, and i am here, wherever here is.
Looks around then at the dryad.
Uhmm yea i have no idea where i am, one moment i am in this garden in the afterlife, the next everything goes black, and i am here, wherever here is.
Looks around then at the dryad.
The dryad didn't look impressed or surprised at all. "It's rather unusual for people to come back from the after life. But I believe your words human, if you can call yourself human any longer." Tulipea calmly gathered a flowet from the ground and glanced back at the male. "You're missing a home?" She asked, shes stretched out her tree-like arm pointing in a direction. "That way, a little house, nothing big or too small either but you should be able to live in it." She explained before pointing the opposite direction. "That way you will find an inn, also a market. Be careful I have eyes everywhere in the forest, if you hurt it, I will not hesitate to hurt you." She said clearly.
yea it is unusual, hmm it's true there is no telling what i am now, Looks at his hands sadly and sighs before looking at the dryad. Don't worry i won't hurt the forest, and thanks for the help i'm Athelstan by the way and once again thanks. Waves at the dryad and starts heading for the house the dryad mentioned, after some time he finds it just outside the forest overlooking a lake with a waterfall, and he smiles feeling oddly at peace here, he looks at the house that is coincidently named Kattegat which is carved into a wooden plate over the door and chuckles lowly and shakes his head before heading in to what has now become his new home.
He finds himself in the other end of the forest, near til lake. It is unusual, because he never really comes here often. The memories of an old time keeps him from coming here. He goes to the shore, kneeling before the water and watching the distance for a moment, before his eye get a hold of the house near the lake. Kattegat has always been the worst place for him ever to be. The thoughts of old times and the hatred towards that place.
Is standing out back and cleaving wood, once he has cleaved a good amount, he takes it with him and goes inside with it humming a song as he goes, not noticing the person down at the shore at all.
At first he thinks it is just his imagination, but he hears a humming that is very familiar to him. He looks towards the house, where the sound is coming from, only catching a glimps of whoever it is that is humming. Quickly he stands up, slowly walking towards the house with uneasy steps. "Is this really happening?" he thinks to himself, "Is this a trick of the mind once again?" He gets closer to the house, the humming getting louder and louder as he approaches.
Continues humming when he all of a sudden hears footsteps coming towards the house and with the door standing open he can't close it in time he quickly grabs his sword and hides waiting to see what will happen and what the person will do.
He comes to the opening of the door. The humming has stopped, which makes him sigh. This might all just have been his imagination. He looks around a little, watching into the dark of the room. There is no one there, but his experience throughout time, has made him a good hunter. He smells the air, and finds a somewhat familiar smell, that makes him want to wreck the house, until he finds whoever it is.
I wait for person to get inside and once i have my chance i step up behind the person and hold my sword to his neck."One wrong move and i will separate you head from your shoulders, tell me who you are and what you are doing sneaking around on my property, and you better have a good answer."
He knows that voice. He has heard it many times before and thought of it many times, since he lost it. A small smile appears on his lips and a small laugh escapes. "I have taught you very well, Priest," is the only thing he says.
I Startle at the voice knowing it only too well having spent years upon years yearning to hear it again and i think. "But it can't be how is it possible." I drop my sword and it crashes to the ground and i almost trip over my feet walking backwards until i hit the wall, staring wide eyed in shock and feeling my heartbeat accelerate and i start to shake. No it can't be, why do the gods do this to me, is it really you. Ragnar? the name barely a whisper, the whole thing is getting to be too much for me, and i feel tears forming in the corner of my eyes.
He turns around, looking at you with those shiny, lightblue eyes he has always had. The small smile is still on his lips as he looks at you, taking a few steps forward, but not too many. "Yes, I'm still here," he says in a low tone. The happiness inside him i almost too big to consume, but you seem frightend and therefore he does not want to push you more than necessary. "You seem to not like my presence?"
I feel the tears start to fall and you look just like i remember you let your hair grow again and i smile, all of sudden it is like someone else takes control of my body, i rush to you crashing into your body and hugging you tight not wanting to let go. Oh Ragnar it really is you, the gods have finally heard my prayers.I bury my head in you neck breathing in your scent, because i fear you will evaporate into the thin air any moment now
He almost fell over by that, but he is standing strong and lays his arms around you, holding you tight, burying his face in your hair, taking in your scent. "I have walked this earth for so long that I was starting to loose all hope," he says in a low tone. Everything seems perfect at this moment, nothing could possibly ruin this moment.
"I know what you mean, where i was my dreams and thoughts where always of you, and now here i am finally able to be in your arms again, yes i missed you Ragnar but i didn't realise i missed you this much". I lean back and look into your eyes realising just how much i have missed your eyes. "Promise you won't leave me, i can't... i just can't." My eyes are getting teary again and i dont' know what to do with myself.
He lifts one of his eyebrows by what you are saying. The next moment he lets go of you, taking a few steps back, the smile is gone from his lips and his eyes are narrowed a bit, looking at you with a sense of betrayal. "Me not leaving you? It was YOU who left ME," he says in a little harsh tone. He starts shifting a little, feeling the anger and the betrayal inside of him. Suddenly he stands still and looks up, his eyes fixed on you and he starts taking the few steps towards you, while saying: "You just had to, you just had to leave ME. You couldn't just let things stay as they were and them Floki..." he stops, looking away from you, getting his eyes a little teary.
I startle and then realise my mistake as you talk i look down at the ground feeling ashamed, you are after all indeed right, i did promise you to never leave you, and i come to the realisation that you have every right to be mad at me but still, when i look at you and see that your eyes are getting teary i know that for once, i have to take action lest everything blows up in my face, so i step towards you and gently raises a hand to your cheek, i turn your face towards mine so we have eye contact, but what i see almost breaks my heart and i instantly know just what i put you trough because of my stupidity, and i vow to make it right. "Ragnar i can' begin to say just how sorry i am for that, i never intended to do that to you, and had i just stopped for a second and thought things through then maybe it would not have happened, but i can't say for sure, after all Floki was an unpredictable man, and he might have gotten to me at some later point, i guess we will never know, but know this there has not gone a day where i wished i could redo things, and it has haunted me for years and it always will because of what my death did to you, i will always carry that guilt, i just hope that i can make things right and the first step is this, I promise you Ragnar i will never leave you again i made that mistake once, i have no intention to do it again i promise." While i was saying this i have been gently stroking you cheek with my thumb, and once i am done talking i smile sincerely at you.
