The entrance to the store isn't much. Of course, the "Open" sigh is something, but the glass and wooden building can't really be judged in the middle of the desert. One wouldn't care to complain when they're tired, hungry, or in need of a weapon. You'll mostly find Tatum or Alyssa outside, tending to the store.
The pickup pulled up at the front of the store, finally allowing Tatum to take a breath of relief. He turned off the truck and climbed out.

"Here we are," he exclaimed to his group. "Home, sweet home."
Katie took a second before climbing out the vehicle. She bad been contemplating how close she had been to being hurt by one of those crazy people. She felt slightly traumatized from having to kill one. And most of all, Tatum didn't seem the least bit worried about her. The old man cares deeply for her, she knew that, but part of her wishes that she hadn't been raised to be tough as nails.

Still, Katie thought as she stared at Tanner for a little while. I wouldn't have saved him or my dad today if it weren't for dad raising me how I am. And I would probably be dead today if it weren't for this guy.

Katie waited for the others to exit the truck before entering the store.
Alan hopped out of the truck before lending Kirsten his back, allowing her to climb on.

"You trust me, right?" he asked her suddenly. She hesitated, but nodded firmly after a moment.
As much as Tanner tried to not put too much pressure on his back, he had strained it in his attempt to get out of the truck. He grunted from the pain, but didn't show anymore signs of struggle as he quickly regained himself. He took a good look at the store: Tatum's Food and Guns. He liked the sound of that.

"It's getting dark," he informed the group. "We should probably head inside. If I'm going to take a look at the girl again, we're going to need a place to set her down."
Tatum growled. "Ain't nobody taking a look at m-"

Tatum froze at the sight of the severely damaged leg of his niece. He was mostly surprised that he didn't notice, which didn't sit right with him.
Tanner concluded from his shocked look that he didn't know about the little girl's condition until just now.

"It's okay," Tanner told him reassuringly. "I'm a doctor."
Katie took notice of the girl's damaged leg as well. She let out a gasp, shocked at how brutal her injury looked. If this guy really is a doctor, then they'd need to hurry up and set Kirsten down immediately.

"We should hurry up and head inside, daddy."
Kirsten buckled under her uncle and neice's gazes and whimpered while burying her face into Alan's shoulder. Alan nodded sympathetically.

"The bus we were on crashed downtown. Her leg was injured in the crash." he explained.
Tanner stared between the four and took a mental note to treat his back when they got inside. He realized that the pain grew increasingly difficult to bear and it became nearly impossible to hide the urge to wince from it.
"You can have my room," Tatum told his niece. "Alan, you and I have to talk later."

Tatum pulled out an old key as he stepped inside.
Katie looked up at her tall cousin and gave him a shrug before heading around to the back.

"Tell Dad that I'm going to take another look at the generator."
Tanner walked in after Tatum. He had to be careful with how he stepped, since it throbbed his back with almost every amount of movement he made.
Alan nodded to Tatum and followed him in.
It took Logan a good half an hour to limp her way back to the shop they had passed. Thankfully she hadn't passed our yet, but she was dreadfully thirsty and her vision was even blurrier.

She was hopeful when she saw a truck and motorcycle outside the the shop, and began calling out as she limped closer. "H-help me...! Somebody please..!" Unfortunately her throat was so scratchy and dry it came out as barely more than a whisper. She supposed that was good though, in case there were insurgents inside.

Still, she limped closer until she made it to the door, pushing it open and looking in before falling to the ground. "I-is anyone here?" She tried calling out again as she crawled in, struggling to stay conscious now.
Katie arrived at the entrance after taking a long look at the generator. She'd have to remind Tatum once again that they'd need a replacement. Now that they would most likely have company for the night, they couldn't risk having a non-powered building. The sound of the store's alarm finally rang in her ears.

What the-?! When did the alarm start going off?!

It seemed like the adrenaline from the events of the evening took Katie's attention slightly off. Her feet picked up the pace to go investigate the building, but she stopped in her tracks at the sight of a car and a motorcycle.

A Davidson and a Toyota?

Katie quickly spotted figures inside the car and started to make her way over to them.

"Sorry," she called over. "We're closed! You're going to have to find some other place to-"

Her words were abruptly halted when she spotted an unconscious body in the back seat. Her eyes widened at the sight and she immediately barged into the store.

"Hey, I need some help over here," she yelled. That's when she spotted another body. Although this one appeared to be moving, she knew that the person would need urgent help. "Hurry!"

Katie struggled to pick up the young person and began moving her towards her room.
