Where one would go to speak with the driver or to sit behind him. The driver is friendly and can make decent small talk with a person.
As the two made their way to the front of the bus, a news report played.
"Still coming to you from the TMC, I have word that the police have already moved in and a whole squad has been killed by who knows what. TPD are at it's wits end as to who or what is the cause of this riot, and they've called in reinforcements from Mesa. Mesa has declined their help and now the Tucson Police Department has no choice but to clear off everybody near TMC and issue an official extermination. I'm talking about units armed with riot shields and rifles shooting anything and everything on sight."
It grew quiet for a moment. Then crowd screamed as the men spotted new prey and focused on them. The police began firing, but most of the troops were already dead. It didn't take long for the barbarians to gain the upper hand. Katie began continuing her story nonetheless through all the carnage.
"This just in! We've received a report that a bus crashed not to far from here! A couple of deaths and many are injured! The bus had been traveling to TMC and apparently caught sight of a crowd of people running on the street! Tucson has gone into complete pandemonium! Evacu-!"
Katie screamed as a two men with bats charged her and the cameraman. The report cut off abruptly and it switched back to Sherry.
"Thank you Katie, in other news..." Sherry's voice trailed off.

Alan's eyes widened. Something serious was happening to Tucson not far from where they were.
What the hell is going on?
"A bus crash? Could they be talking about us?" he wondered. He approached the front door only to remember that the bus was on its side, making the front door inaccessible. Damn... he thought.
"Okay, Kirsty. I'm gonna set you down for a second okay?" he asked over his shoulder. Kirsten didn't respond to his question.
Alan set her down gently next to the driver's seat and approached the front window. He looked out of it to see people running and screaming.
This is really happening... he still couldn't believe it.
He shook his head to get rid of those thoughts for now and focused on escaping the bus with Kirsten. He walked up next to the cracked glass and kicked at it. It didn't break, but it made more cracks. He continued kicking it.
Eventually, Alan managed to kick in the glass of the front window. He went back to Kirsten to see her physically shaking as she stared at all of the corpses, mainly the driver who laid dead right next to her. He cursed himself for being careless and ran up to her.
"Don't look Kirsten!" he screamed at her, even though he knew it was too late. He picked her up and straddled her onto his back before setting her down temporarily once again as he crawled out, keeping one hand on her arm. Once he was out, he grabbed her arm with his other hand and gently yanked to get her to come out. It took some work, but he managed to get her to crawl out of the bus. He rested her against the front of the bus while he looked around at their surroundings.
The crowd had already made their U-Turn. They seemed to be fleeing from the bus. Suddenly the smell of smoke entered Alan's nose. Once he smelled the smoke, he almost had a heart attack as his eyes shot open.
Son of a...! He rushed over as fast as he could and snagged Kirsten, causing her to yelp in pain. He carried her bridal style as he dashed away from the bus, making one final dive when he got far enough away, sheltering Kirsten with his body.

(Uncharted 5 )
The bus exploded right as he sheltered Kirsten. The two were lucky to be unharmed, but many of the poor crowd were not so lucky. Alan and Kirsten were prepared to run with the crowd to safety, but they spotted a bunch of Insurgents wailing on many of the poor people. Police tried to contain the situation to no avail.
Alan and Kirsten would either have to cut their chances and head to the meeting point so Tatum could find them. Or take a safer approach to safety and avoid the trouble through the back alleys.

Alan slowly lifted his head and checked for injuries on himself. He felt relieved when he didn't find any. He got off of Kirsten and looked her over. Nothing on her either, besides her leg. He held a hand out. "Kirsty, you okay?" he asked.
She nodded and took his hand. He lifted her onto his shoulders again and took a look around. He shook his head.
No, it'd be too dangerous to try our luck with the crowd. he thought. He directed his eyes to the alleyways nearby. We'd have a better chance there. he concluded his thoughts and looked over his shoulder at Kirsten. "Ready?"
She nodded and he jogged into the back alleys.
