The back alleys are a safer place. Though one might have to worry about any animals guarding their territory. This is where one would go if the main road was crowded. One might even run into an IKEA store.
(I'll start with Alan and Kirsten )
The two entered quickly and managed to avoid any trouble. Unfortunately, there was a straight shot down that led to a wall. It wasn't tall enough for Alan to not climb, but it'd be a pain to get Kirsten over. He'd have to find a way to get her over the wall easier. He had to look around for anything useful.

Alan set her down against the wall and took a look around.
Looking around and about. Alan spotted a ladder lying on the ground.
Hmmm....that might work if I had something to balance that, he thought as he looked around some more. He then spotted a dumpster. It wasn't the best option, but it wouldn't hurt to use it. He could possible angle the ladder using the dumpster to balance it. He could then walk with Kirsten on his back over the wall. Hopefully there was something to cushion the drop on the other side.

Successfully he accomplish making a little stairway. Now was the time to test it out. If done right, it should support both Alan and Kirsten. But they had to be careful. Behind them, two Insurgents had begun making their way towards the two.
Kirsten yelped as Alan finished his makeshift bridge. He turned to see the Insurgents moving towards them.
W-what are those things...! he thought. He immediately recognized them as a threat based on the fact that they had a hungry look in their eyes, and dashed for Kirsten. He picked her up and stepped onto the bridge, praying that it would work because he had no time test it. He took the first few steps carefully.

It seemed to be pretty sturdy for a makeshift bridge. Unfortunately, they'd have to pick up the pace. The Insurgents kept their steady pace towards them, and would reach him well before he got to the other side if he took too long.
Throwing caution to the wind, he went as fast as he could on the bridge until he got to the other side of the wall. Just before jumping over, he kicked the ladder down, but the motion caused him to trip, and he fell down the other side of the wall.
Luckily for them, Alan managed to block off the Insurgents' attempts to follow them. Even luckier, there was a cushion planted on the other side. It was as if this was a route someone took before. Interesting and convenient.
Now that they were over the wall, there was a shiny black object next to the cushion.

Alan and Kirsten grunted with the impact of falling, but were surprised to see a cushion there.
It's almost as if... blah blah blah.
He checked on Kirsten. "Are you okay?" to which she nodded and he rested her against the wall. It was then when he noticed the shiny thing and investigated it.

What luck! It was a gun! Now this was really convenient.
But all good things must come to an end. A strange fidgeting man wearing a hospital gown suddenly entered the same area. When he saw Alan and Kirsten, his crazed eyes became bloodshot.

"Where is she?! Huh?!" he yelled
"H-Huh? What are you talking about? Are you okay, sir?" asked Alan. The man stood there shaking for a moment before he continued.
"Where is the Savior of Man?! I know you're hiding her!" he yelled.
What the hell is he talking about? wondered Alan. The man's eyes suddenly traveled down to Kirsten, who looked at him fearfully.
"Ah! It's true! God has sent our savior to us! The Savior has arrived!" He began approaching Kirsten, but Alan stepped in the way.
"Sorry, mister. I don't know what you're talking about, but don't come any closer to my sister, please." he said politely. The man's face became confused for a moment, but after a while he held a hand out and slapped Alan to the ground.
"Please do not interfere, apostle. It is God's will that I bring the Savior of Man with me to Oblivion." the man said calmly. Alan stood up and took out the gun from earlier.
This guy's insane. I can't let him get near Kirsten. Crap...I'm not much for guns, but... he thought as he aimed it at the man, hoping it was loaded. He fired two shots randomly at it.

(Have it dead any way you want ...the gun was just a little help. You have five bullets. Save at least one for the IKEA part. And please try to make it interesting, since this is your first encounter )
The two shots missed the crazed man completely. He chuckled slightly as he turned his attention to Alan.
"I suppose I'll have to deal with you, Guardian." he said as he took out a metal pipe from his coat.
Alan brought the gun down. He'd seen enough movies to know you need practice before you can even hit what you want to hit. He pocketed the gun and looked around for a weapon. He noticed a broken 2x4 wooden board and picked it up.
"Big brother, watch out!" yelled Kirsten suddenly.
Alan spun around just in time to see the man swinging his metal pipe at him, and he put up his 2x4 to guard. The impact made an odd thud and his 2x4 broke immediately.
Crap...! he thought as the man slapped him in the chest with the pipe, sending him to the ground. He got up and readied himself as the man attacked again with a jab, this time catching the pipe before it impaled his stomach. He'd never been in a fight before in his life, but he'd seen enough Kill Bill and 3 Ninjas to know the basics. He threw a punch that impacted against the man's face, but he only looked down at him with a sinister grin in reply. He returned the punch to Alan, causing him to fall onto his back. He threw his weapon down and chuckled a little as he grabbed Alan's neck with both hands, raising him into the air and choking the life out of him.
"Now, young sir. Go to God!" the man chanted.
"Uaggh...! K-K...Kir..." he pleaded with her, reaching his hand out for the discarded pipe, which happened to land in front of Kirsten.
Kirsten shivered as she watched the strange man choke the life out of her big brother. She closed her eyes and looked away, but soon heard him trying to say something to her. She looked back at him to see him reaching out for the pipe next to her that the man threw down. She didn't know what to do at that point, and decided to do what her gut told her. She reached for the pipe and managed to grab it after a couple of tries. She looked at Alan and the man and realized that they were a couple of steps away. She would have to get up and walk to them to give Alan the pipe.
Alan watched Kirsten slowly retrieve the pipe that the man had thrown down. His vision was quickly shifted back to the man when it poured on the pressure of the squeeze. It felt like his neck was about to snap, and the pain was unbearable. His vision became fuzzy and dark as the life was draining out of him. Right when the darkness seemed like a good salvation to the pain he was feeling, a cold sensation in his right hand brought him back to his senses. He looked down to see the man's metal pipe in his hand, and Kirsten collapsing after giving it to him, her leg wound bleeding heavily from her attempting to walk on it.
His thoughts shifted to making sure she was okay, and new strength filled him again when he brought the pipe down on the man's head, freeing himself. He gasped for air when the man let go of him and massaged his neck. The man only needed a minute to regain his bearings and he was on the attack again. Alan, however, did not have enough time to recuperate and was tackled to the ground. The man began pummeling him, throwing punch after punch while Alan did the best he could to block the attacks. Someone along the line he had dropped the pipe and it rolled out of his reach.
"It's futile to fight against the will of God. Just give in and become a Divine." the man whispered as he let loose punch after punch.

Lmao now you have me Googling Orochimaru
There ya go! Good luck sleeping!
A loud think could be heard as the pipe was brought down on the man's head. Two hands moved the crumpled body off of the back of the man and offered a helping hand.
Tanner took glances between the two that obviously looked related. He pulled off his backpack and crouched to dig inside of it.
"Consider yourselves lucky," he replied. "If I didn't get here when I did, you wouldn't have a face to fix. Fortunately for you both, I'm a doctor."
Tanner rummaged around for a little while until he found an ice pack that felt slightly melted from the Arizonian heat.
"This should help numb down the pain," Tanner offered as he handed over the pack.

Alan gratefully accepted the pack and held it to his face.
"Thank you for saving me and my sister. We definitely owe you one." he said.
Kirsten looked unsure about him, but she stayed quiet. Alan made his way over to her.
"Hey, you okay?" She nodded hesitantly, but whimpered at the pain of her leg. Alan glanced down to see that her leg looked even worse. It looked like the bus had completely crushed her leg.
"Damn it..." he mumbled under his breath.
It should have been me that got hurt, not her. She shouldn't have to go through this...

Tanner didn't respond to the boy's gratitude, but instead turned his attention to the severely wounded young girl. As he suspected, the two are related. He once again fished in his backpack and pulled out a bottle of alcohol and a clean, white rag.
"Your sister's in a great deal of pain by the looks of it," Tanner explained. "We'll have to get her somewhere safe so she can be properly treated."
He brought up the term we, knowing that he'll need all the help that he can get to escape the town.
