Just knda curious to see what ideas people have had for Heroes. I wouldn't necessarily say this would be a place to talk about OC's, but more a place to talk about concepts and ideas.
Personally, I'd like to see another animal hero, kinda like Winston, just with different abilities and play style.

I would like to see characters that utilise other things and mechanics. I've already conceptualised three characters with different abilities and moves that I would love to see in-game if at all. My primary concept being Artemis and seeing an innovative artist that uses their skills to fight the good fight and use their artistic abilities with the setting's future tech in a more defensive manner.
I also have concepts for a mimic, who materialises replica guns and weapons from hard-light tech and is able to use them till the ammo runs out, or after a period of time (especially since D.Va and Hanzo have unlimited ammo, and therefore would have a wall if it were till the ammo clip or amount runs out). They also have the ultimate called Mimicry, where they are alerted which character's ultimate they'll be getting via icon, and they will choose how to best use it on the field.
Effectively a versatile, unpredictable, and perhaps troublesome character to use especially if the user is faced with having to switch play styles mid-game to accommodate what Mimic's new weapon or ultimate is when that's ready.

Would these characters fill in support roles?
As a sugegston for one of the Mimic's abilities, maybe they could disgusie themselves as a hero on the other team kinda like the Spy and a good way to root them out would be to have Mercy or Ana try to heal/boost them? Or perhaps Widow's ult would reveal them?

Well... I already desginated Artemis as being more of a Defence hero with her abilities and what her specialty is when used out in play. Something I always consider when I create video game characters like this before I flesh out more of their story and such.
She's like Reinhardt in a sense, though has more manoeuverability and attacks that she can do that doesn't just rely on a melee brush attack.
As for Mimic, concealment and disguising is not part of their moveset, and I'm honestly not sure how to categorise them in the grand scheme of things when you look at Offence, Defence, Tank, and Support. I would likely categorise them in Support for being so versatile, but at the same time, Soldier: 76 was designed for versatility and is placed in Offence, so it's honestly a toss up between either.
My third concept was more of a spy, and was not mentioned in lieu of Sombra coming out soon, who apparently specialises in spy-like moves and abilities. My character concept for the third one was the first one I came up with -- she was meant to have a cloaking ability, and a doppelganger ultimate that created copies of herself to freak out the enemy team and hopefully get them distracted as to which one might be the real one.
Typing all this out makes me realise I neglected my fourth concept of a trap support character, who only relies on laying down traps that are meant to be better concealed than Junkrat and Widowmaker's, especially seeing as that is their main way of dealing damage.

Ah ok. Hmm, Artemis sounds real interesting :U
As for the mimic, I dunno how to categorize them either :'D Though on the topic of 76, I do think he's offense because he's more geared towards fighting rather than supporting. Hmmm..... how would you picture the Mimic being used in game? Would they be used as a damage dealer? Or would they be used to pester people and distract them? OR what?
And in regards to spies and Sombra, I picture Sombra being more of a Hacker than what one would expect a normal spy to be. Heck, I think Blizzard mentioned that they didn't plan to make any characters with invisibility. What would the spy's second ability be? After the cloaking and their ult.?
And I think you should flesh out the Trapper character more. You don't see alot of those kinds of characters unfortunately.

I've had this idea for a character that will never, ever happen because alcohol implications, but I was thinking of a character carries a couple of barrels on their back, attached to a nozzle so they can spray both allies and enemies with beer.
I guess the best you can compare them to is TF2's Pyro, but less broken. Skills would be different alcohol effects, like a spray that speeds up allies and slow enemies, activating another skill would deal damage over time on enemies and heal over time on allies and as an ult they'd shoot their drink like a fire hydrant, disorienting enemies and dealing increased damage, at the cost of slowing them down drastically.
It'll probably never see the light of day but it sounds like a hilarious concept nonetheless.

Never say never, Rynh. The game is rated T for Teen, and alcohol use is usually a little more prevalent in those games, though never explicitly stated. If anything, the description would likely say that the character uses various concoctions to either benefit the team, or irritate and make the enemy team more vulnerable.
As for Trapper, she's actually a little more fleshed out than Mimic, just that I actually forgot about her when I was thinking over them. She uses both fire and gel (originally called water traps). Fire traps ignite and deal DoTs to an enemy over the course of three seconds, and gel traps slow an enemy down, making sure they don't get away too quickly, and especially make it easier for characters like Hanzo and Widowmaker to pick them off for an easy kill.
Her ultimate is a flash trap that is activated upon being set down. It emits a blinding flash of light within a 10m radius that causes the enemy screens (those hit with it) to go white for a couple (2 - 3) seconds, and is ideal when there is a huge crowd. So good defence maneouvre if an enemy team is pushing, or if you need to push on attack and the enemy team is putting up a good defence.
Of course, though... she's not completely defenceless, she does have a pistol that is akin to something that D.Va or Mercy has. Though it probably has Mercy's firerate.
As for my Spy character, she really is just similar to TF2's Spy, which makes me want to sit down and redo a lot of her stuff to be a little more unique. At least different for the most part. Because I really wanted her to have the cloak, disguise, and backstabbing. However, the more I thought about it, the more I just disliked it for being cookie cutter from TF2.
So it might take me some time to really just get something good. I was thinking of giving her, instead, something like Hanzo's sonar arrow. But it's meant to be attached to somebody, and lasts for eight seconds with an 8m sonar radius (but will plop on the ground if you miss). Once those eight seconds are up, it explodes with a 3m radius and does more of an irritant damage (maybe a 25 base damage, which would suck if you're waiting for heals). Another thing is that a teammate could shoot it off if they see it within those eight seconds.
I think Mimic would REALLY have to emphasise teamwork, honestly. Maybe if Mimic were available under ALL different types of character (so you would see Mimic under Attack, Defence, Tank, and Support), what would happen is that THAT Mimic would focus those character attack types and switch between them as their ammo runs out, or something.

So, I also had an idea for an interesting concept.
A pair of charactes that can switch out in combat. Both characters would have different play styles. One would be a slow, hard hitting, tanky, defense type character. They'd put down turrets, similar to Symetra's, though with more health and damage output, at the expense of only having three turrets. He'd probably be able to drop a shield on the ground similar to Reinhardt's as his ult.
The other character would be a much faster, but weaker, offense type character. They would deploy up to three seeker drones. They would be weak, but fast and would actively seek out enemies. Her ult. would be to deploy a single bomb drone. The Drone would seek out a large group and go off, setting off a bright flash that would temporarily blind the Enemies, or possibly stunning them.
Story wise I figured the pair would be very close, most likely a Father Daughter pair, with the father being an escaped Talon experiment, and the Daughter being an inventor.
