  • How do I get a job?

    Option #1: Apply.

If there's an open slot in a non-PC owned business then you'd put in an application as a PM to Tawhiri on the forums. Put the job-title and (Application) in the subject then in the body describe how you'd go about finding the owner to inquire (are you catching up with them while they're alone or at work?). From there an RP to get the job would ensue ICly.

Option #2: Talk with PC business owners.

If a business is owned by a PC then it's up to them to do hiring/firing, etc. PM or whispers are the suggested methods (remember these are not actual employers, being too persistent might not work). Hiring practices may vary.

Option #3: Make your own business!

First of course you'll be sending a PM to Tawhiri with the subject: New Business (Business name here). In the body we'd like to see as much detail as you feel you can provide (saves on questions later, keep it under 5 pages). Feel free to include required materials that need to be acquired or ordered, possible labor needs, how it turns a profit, etc.

Examples: Local businesses need supplies either gathered or shipped in. Wood for fires, crafts, tools, or building could be collected and sold. Make a product that the Island doesn't already have.

Note: Some changes to the dream need to be administered in a certain way (everyone has a system). While suggestions on how to implement or change the dream might be in the spirit of helpfulness please remember that the admins have RL responsibilities (S/O, work, pets, etc.) . We will make changes as soon as is feasible and in the manner that makes the most sense to us. We leave messages flagged as 'need to be addresses' so there is no way we will forget your requests.
