  • The Rinaldi Family

The Rinaldi are a family of vulpines who control much wealth and power. They claim to be the original inhabitants of Calabria. It is also said that they single-handedly defeated the Autarchs many years ago. They founded the city of Triskellian, the largest city in the entire island. Through clever trading and allegiances, the city has grown wealthy and sophisticated. The city has seen much, wars have been fought within its walls, scandals hidden away, years of great wealth and years of great poverty. But to this day, the Rinaldi continue to hold their power.

They are also responsible for one of the most prominent religions in the region - S’allumer. The story well known all around the island. It is said, during a deadly plague, a nurse of Don Rafael wandered the streets, covered by a brilliant white glow. She touched those she passed, curing them instantly from their disease. However, she was overcome with sorrow and helplessness, she knew she would be unable to save everybody so she begged the mysterious white light to take her life in exchange for the people of the city. The glow spread from her body, engulfing the entire city. Once all were saved, she collapsed and perished. This act brought about the religion of S’allumer - the life-giving luminance.

However, the Rinaldi are not without their problems. In recent years, rumours have spread about bickering between members of the family. They have also lost most of their power to the guilds who have gained much influence in recent years. However, they are far from powerless. They still hold a great deal of military might as well as great influence in the church.
