The Khal's Court
Great Khal Shono, the Khal of Khals
The Khal of Khals, Emperor of the Nations of the Shining Horde. Shono united the Temujin clans under one banner after bloody conflict, and set out to complete his vision; uniting the 100 Kingdoms into an Empire that even the Realm would have to respect.
While he has definitely earned a reputation for cruelty, those who truly know Shono can see he is a fair, and honorable man. But he will entertain any strategy, no matter how brutal, to achieve his dream.
Empress Min-Hee
The third wife the Khal has taken, and his favorite. She is his perfect confidant, and true love. She bore him two of his four sons, raised his captured Princess and helped bring about the modern culture of the Shining Horde, striking a balance between tribal and dynastic peoples.
Outwardly she is serene and genteel. But those who know the Empress have seen she is now less stern and focused than the man she loved. Her every action is to gain advantage for her Khal.
Khal Chagatai
The Great Khal's brother is no less the warrior or general his older brother is, but perhaps not as open-minded a leader. He believes the Temujin are weakened by lesser Cultures, and refuses to settle in a city, despite being offered several rivaling his brother's in scope.
Prince Chen
The once Heir Apparent is the spitting image of Temujin nobility and one of the Horde's finest generals. With courage and shrewd strategy he has won many victories in his father's name, and until his younger brother's Exaltation, was believed by all to be the Khal of Khal's heir.
Prince Jin-sahn
The Exalted Prince was raised to be a master of the cultures of his father's mighty Empire. He is much more cultured than any Temujin noble, and it is often whispered he is no true Temujin. But he was trained by the finest teachers of the Shining Horde's Empire and those who doubt his courage and martial prowess are often proven foolish by the Prince.
Jin-Sahn is the only of the Khal's offspring to share his gift of Exaltation, something that has quickly made him a candidate for heir, and seen him involved much more in war councils than ever before.
Khal Yokatsu
A powerful and ambitious Khal of a family who very nearly became the Great Khal's of the Shining Horde before Shono.
Gaheris
The royal bastard is content with his lot in life, and has taken advantage of every opportunity his father has given him. He rose quickly through the ranks, facing opposition at every turn. Now he commands his father's men, often working mercenaries and auxiliary forces.
Vordu
Temujin Death-Preist is a throwback from a less civilized time in Temujin history. He's a sinister man, who speaks with the voice of the Temujin's Shi-Tien Yen-Wong, the God's of Death.
Kamoko, Captain of the Death Guard
Azuma Sanjuro
Sanjuro is the Khal's defender. A no-nonsense Master shinobi, who's sole purpose is to serve the Khal who saved his people. Sanjuro is known to be highly superstitious, and have little regard for social niceties. If the man speaks, it will be about the matter at hand.
Azuma Mayumi
May is Sanjuro's sister and the only person he trusts with protecting the Princess. May is quiet and fiercely loyal like her brother, but has a sense of humor and on occasion a tongue as sharp as her blades.
Awilix
A Lunar warlord of the Nahuatl Alliance, Awilix lead the rebellion against the corrupt priests, and swore allegiance to the Great Khal in exchange for her people's freedom from the demon worshiping cult. She is boisterous and lewd. She is one of the Khal's favorite warlords, and fiercely loyal to him.
