Callista knew requesting a meeting with Sanjuro directly might be denied by the Khal so she simply requested that May tell him she wished to speak with him at his convenience. It was just a matter of time until the Azuma found the time, and her, so she was patient as she waited.
Once made aware his princess wished a word with gim, Sanjuro made every effort not to make her wait long.
He was a busy man, and was not big on delegating, but it wasn't often Callista had need of him so he assumed it must be important.
He knocked at the door and waited patiently for his sister to let him in. He bowed low as Mayumi shut the door behind him.
"You summoned me, Princess?" he said.

The princess stood when May opened the door but wasn't surprised to see Sanjuro there so quickly after she had requested to speak with him. She excused May, being alone with the Khal's servant was safe enough and she was a Exalted now, certain rules could be benthe or maybe didn't apply to her anymore. Only time would tell for most.
"Greetings Sanjuro. If I had known when I was receiving you I would have had May fetch some refreshments," she said bowing slightly. "Please, come in. What I have to say won't take too much of your time."

"I need no refreshments, Princess, but if you wish some for yourself I can wait until Mayumi returns." he said.
He came further into the room as instructed and did his best to look at ease for her sake. He was never at ease, truth be told, his duty was to be prepared for the unexpected. But he always did his best to appear calm and carefree around her so as not to set the Princess on edge.
"My time is of little importance compared to your needs, Princess, I love to serve the royal family." he assured her.

”I have no need of anything and what I have to discuss with you will be brief. It is in regards to Mayumi,” she said, giving him a second before she continued. ”As you know, my recent Exaltation has changed some things. I won't bother trying to be indirect with you, Sanjuro. As of now, Mayumi is no longer under your command. You may continue her training and request her services from me but she is not yours to command or discipline. She belongs to me now and if you have any issue with this, you should speak to the woman yourself.”
Sanjuro looked at the young woman before him, shocked that the timid and unsure girl he'd last seen in this room was gone.
Despite that he smiled beneath his mask.
"Mayumi and I have already discussed this in private. She claims after witnessing the miracle of your Exaltation, she cannot serve another master. I had planned to break this news to you in a more meaningful time, but since you desire her now then I shall be honored to release her into your care now." he said bowing low to her.
"I have no greater treasure to give you, Princess, than my own flesh and blood. I hope you shall always treat her with the love that won her to your side." he said before rising. "Is that all?"

Callista smiled, a bit releaved that he relented so easily. It made sense though, May now owed her a life debt even if Callista didn't view it that way. She just knew that such devotion from a servant was valuable and rare. There was no one else that should could imagine tending to her and looking after her in the way May could.
"Thank you for your understanding. I shall treat her as my own flesh and blood; with care and love. Do not ever think I would mistreat the living proof that Sanjuro has a heart," She smiled lightly, although his secret was safe with her. "There is nothing more I need from you. Please take care of yourself Sanjuro."

Sanjuro nodded.
"I have no doubt you would. I am glad to count you as family in this small way, Callista. I have watched you grow through the eyes of my sister, and I cannot imagine you two apart." he meant that.
"Before I go, I must speak to you as the woman you've become, not the girlbou were." he said, changing the tone despite her dismissal.
"Before you were a political prisoner, to be wed as a display of power and propaganda. Your fate has been forever altered by your Exaltation, my lady. You now have the potential to be greater than a man who's ambition knows no bounds." his voice was a whisper she had to lean in to listen to.
"You will now have enemies who wear the mask of friend. People who seek to use you or lead you astray. You must be careful now more than ever. And above all, you must learn that there is a time for everything, and that time cannot be rushed." he hoped his words made sense to her, he was no teacher nor philosopher.
