Ruby and Silver toured through the massive city walking from tier to tier looking for clothes and new masks to represent each of them. The colors were bright, the people were loud, and it was in general an average day in any bazaar. Ruby was determined to have some fun while they were out and had some of her personal script with her for just this kind of occasion. She smiled at a bustling day, happy she had some time before doing some work again, even if the work was attending a party.

"So, where do we want to start? New masks, an outfit for you and me, or food?"
”Uh, well I may have pinched this one off a vendor we walked past on the way here,” she smiled sheepishly. ”There are plenty of shops though and the princess was nice enough to give us some money. Food first… I work better on a full stomach. Then we can get something for ourselves, maybe find some things for the others on the way. Think I should wear a dress?”
"Think? If I have to, you have to. It's been a long time since I last had a nice dress. And it's only fair. Low back to show off your tattoos? I think that might be nice. Colors though... Ruby got lost in thought while they wandered, until the smell of frying foods snapped her back.

The two of them bounced between vendors who were more than happy to serve the visitors, until they settled on a little something from several stands and found a bench with their gains. Ruby had a flat fried bread wrapped around some thin strips of meat smothered in a very fresh-smelling sauce to enjoy while they watched the life move on around them. "So, need to know," She spoke between bites, hoping to know more of what just happened. "Who is that other guy, and how do you know him?"
”There is not have to, I like to. I don't wear skirts because it's impractical. I don't really have anyone to show off for, do you?” she asked, genuinely curious. They shopped for a bit, some were easier to shop for than others. A flame mask for Cion and a green scaled one for Eida. Mercy and May were the hardest, not knowing how flamboyant either of them wanted to be.

”The peacock? He is another Lunar and when I used to search for items for those pining for their lost mates, his voice was one of the loudest. I'm not saying he is bad, he just has a very narrow focus. So many Lunars seem focused on these memories that are not entirely theirs.”
"Other than myself? No, not really, but I've never had a reason to. Skirts and dresses show too much while you're climbing rigging, and catch fire so much easier. Here, this one for May." Ruby held up a black mask with whirling strokes of silver. "How bright do you think Callista wants to be?

"What about you? He obviously had something going on with Cion's past. Do you know anything about your 'partner'?"
”I think Callista wants to be noticed, but more elegant than bright. Bold just doesn't seem to suit her,” she said pulling out a few intricately gold edged masks that could work for the princess.

”I think it all depends on how many memories of your past life you retain. I remember a lot of Moon’s Bloody Shadow, who this piece of Luna belonged to before but she lived long after the time of the Solars. Beyond that, I merely have hunches.” Jill shrugged. ”It seems to be different with each Lunar, but I've met quite a few who long for the company of their Sun-Partner. I do feel a touch bad for Tsubaki. I don't know what it would be like to search for someone like that only to find them and have them be less than thrilled about your presence.”
"Huh." There wasn't much else to say, Ruby wasn't sure what she expected, but her couple flashbacks she had were rather vibrant. "I don't think it's 'less than thrilled,' more like 'confused as hell.' If someone you haven't seen before walked in and kissed you before even saying hello, I know I'd be lost. Who knows, maybe they'll be best friends if Tsubaki can pass the litmus test Sanjuro and Eida set up."

Ruby pointed to one with a simple diamond pattern that Silver had dredged up, giving them all they needed. Next was clothes for her and Silver.
”I guess if a good looking guy like that walked in and kissed me I might be alright with it too. Best friends or something else? That was quite some hello.”

Jill glanced over, glad Ruby didn’t push the subject much more but she was curious too. ”How do you feel about the idea of someone showing up claiming they were your partner in your past life?” They made their way into the clothing stalls that had ready-made outfits that seemed suitable for their plans. Jill thought it was interesting how many of them seemed to have masks that came with them and the vendors touted that the outfits were not just clothing, but a means to a different personality or life.
"Geez, if I had known that everything was a matching, well, I guess I'm glad I didn't find one I liked out there. But yeah, I dunno. I'd probably have like a hundred questions. Claiming they were my partner is one thing, insisting that they were still I think would be something else entirely. I'm not who I was then. I'd like to know who I was getting into bed with."

Ruby wished she had the kind of skill to make such ornamental outfits. It was all so flashy and bright and festive. She could see herself dancing in that green one, giggling at gossip in the frilly pearl, or enjoying a night of music in the mellow blue. Each one seemed to have its own influence and emotion to it, drawing her in. "What do you think, dress, leggings, or trousers? I don't know what kind of ordeal this meeting is going to be."
”I hope that is a figure of speech, since I don’t think all Lunars had that kind of a relationship with their Solar. Imagine what Awilix’s Solar is in for if that was the case” she laughed as she pawed through the dresses. Jill snatched up a teal one with with a flattering but less girly-trim to it and held it up to Ruby. ”Never pass of the chance to wear a dress darling,” she said but the last part came out almost unbidden almost as if she had said it once before, long ago.

”Darling, I don’t care if you have to hike up a mountain, you are wearing a dress to your own wedding !” Said the slightly effeminate voice through a mouthful of pins. Several sets of arms moved in a blur manipulating the exotic mass of silk, gems and lace around the blonde woman. “Harrel loves it when you wear a dress. In fact we ought to make the front plunge a little more to show off your.. Assets. Laces or buttons on the back? We both know he’s just going to rip them off afterwards, so it’s up to you.”

Jill blinked and realized she was staring at the dress intently. The memory was a lot like the ones she had gotten about Moon’s Bloody Shadow when she was visiting her shrines but she was certainly not the bat in this one. ”Um, on second thought, maybe you should wear what you are comfortable in.”
Ruby looked up from the sequined piece she was holding to look at Silver. "Don't tell me you're done already! You were so excited a few minutes ago. Did you eat too much? I'll get this one, because you said so, but let's look for something I can move around in a little better. Not as tight as May's though, that's important. Come on, lets go!" No way a full stomach or thinking about deep questions would spoil their mood, Ruby took her friend by the shoulders and spun her around, pushing her towards the other end of the shop.
