A tall and broad individual that can often be seen wearing the standard military uniform given to all soldiers, however his outfit is red with gold highlights on various parts of his outfits. His hair is is rather long, a deep golden-blond colored hair that reaches down to the base of his neck, he's got the bluest eyes you'd ever see in your life. He wears a single sword on his side and a rifle on his back. He wears two white gloves, each with a transmutation circles; the left glove has an icy blue circle while the right hand has a crimson colored circle, his body is riddled with various scars. His face is often devoid of much emotion, though in the presence of his beloved sister, his expression lights up considerably. On his shoulder, one can often see his beloved Chao whom he's simply named Faith. (I'm aware the Chao is not originally from the Fullmetal Alchemist series, why he has the little thing will be explained.) In addition, he's got a pair of automail legs that cause him more pain than he'd care to admit. The sword on his side has a transmutation circle engraved on the blade, he uses this to surprise his opponents with fast transmutations.
A cool, calm, and very serious man that wouldn't know humor unless it hit him right in the face, and even then he probably wouldn't even notice. He is highly intelligent and can often be seen studying whenever he can. He is cold and often times quite harsh towards newcomers and even towards his own allies. Once he finds someone he can trust, he'll become extremely loyal and fiercely protective of them, however, if his beloved sister comes into danger, his loyalty can be wavered. He cares deeply for his pet and his sister, doing everything he can to keep them safe. He appears to be fiercely loyal towards the military, though he seems to have unclear motives.

A strange looking girl, really. She has the appearance of a demon and looks nothing like her older brother. She is a scrawny, pale skinned girl that looks no older than thirteen, but in reality she's twenty years old. She generally wears a long sleeved, black colored dress. She can often be seen wearing a pair of white, fingerless gloves that reach up to her elbows. She has a pair of black boots that reach up to her knees where her dress ends. Hidden by her dress, she has an Ouroboros tattoo on her right shoulder, though she is unaware of what it actually is, Alex does everything he can to make sure it was well hidden. Her hair is rather short, reaching to just her shoulders and is often worn loosely, like her blank eyes, it is a pitch black color. Her face holds absolutely no trace of any notable emotions, her voice is generally a timid whisper.
The easiest way to describe her personality is that she doesn't have one. She is emotionless, she has no sadness, no anger, no happiness, or discernible emotion. Her face is blank, though often times one could see her crying for no apparent reason. Despite her lack of emotion, she is quite attached to her brother. It's almost like she doesn't even have a soul.

HISTORY
Born and raised in the capital of Amestris, Alex and his sister were raised rather happily. The two were raised by parents that had a keen interest in alchemy. Their father, Allen was a skilled alchemist that worked directly in the Fifth Laboratory where he took part in various experiments that resulted in the loss of numerous prisoners, some innocent, others not so much. Though, Allen just did what he was ordered to do. Anyways, that'll be explained way later in this story, for now, let's focus on the two kids.
Alex was considered to be a prodigy in alchemy, having great skill with fire and ice based alchemy. He had learned most of what he needed thanks to his father. Learning what he could from his father, Alex began doing his own experiments, luckily they were safe and harmless to anyone, and rather it gave Alex some interesting and adorable results. He was trying to see if he could alchemically transmute living creatures, unaware that it was also illegal. He knew full well that he couldn't transmute humans, but he wasn't aware of any laws that would top him from transmuting animals. So, he proceeded to take what knowledge he's learned from his father and decided he'd take a gander at creating life, attempting to play God. Creating a strangely unique circle with what appeared to be a pentagram in the center, he gave breath to something he'd never seen before. It was an adorable little creature whom he's simply named Faith, taking it in as a pet. The two became rather close, seeing as Faith views Alex as if he was its father. He had accomplished this feat when he was just six years old, which made it even more impressive.
While Alex's father was quite proud with his son's success, he was angered with the fact that he did something that was so obviously illegal. Allen began teaching his son everything he could regarding his experiences with playing God, advocating against it. He didn't want his son to end up in the career that he was in, these human experiments the military had conducted were disgraceful and most unnerving, though he did well to hide it. It was just months later that the mother of the family, Lila, had given birth to their daughter, Liliana. The young girl brought much joy to their lives, giving Alex the courage to take on some combat related training classes. In these classes, he trained in the way of the sword in hopes of being able to protect his beloved sister.
For the next two years of their life, it was filled with much joy and happiness. Alex loved his sister without end, doing everything he could to make sure he could see that smile and the sparkles in her eyes. However, their life would take a turn for the worst when their mother left the family without so much as a word to anyone in the family, she hadn't even left a note for the family to read. This devastated the family, especially their father who effectively began to shut down. This hurt Alex immensely, though he remained strong for his younger sister.
As the years went by, nothing of relative importance happened until Alex was just fourteen, Liliana being just eight years. Their father had returned home one day in a rather frantic manner, obviously hiding something from not just the kids, but from his former employers and soon to be executioners. During these frantic hours, Allen made haste to hide a strange, red stone. Just from looking at it, one could see it was something powerful, though a sense of depression and sadness radiated from the stone. In addition to hiding the strange stone, Allen had hidden numerous documents relating to this depressing ruby.
Unfortunately, just a week later, Allen had been arrested and executed for his crimes, though the stone they'd been searching for had never been recovered. The once brilliant scientist was known for being almost a god in hiding secrets from people, including his own family and even the Ruler of Amestris was often bewildered by the man. Alex and Liliana were left as orphans in the family home, left to fend for themselves, the stress caused upon the death of their father and them suddenly becoming orphans brought upon a huge amount of stress upon Liliana, which would soon cause her to become hospitalized at just twelve years old. Alex was now eighteen, doing everything he could to make sure his sister survived this. He studied medical alchemy for as long as he was awake, but unfortunately, it would not be enough as his beloved sister would succumb to a stress related illness, which broke Alex's already mangled heart in an even larger mess. His mother went AWOL, his father was murdered, and now he'd even lost the one he thought he'd never lose, his beloved sister. After this went down, Alex had moved out to Resembool in hopes of releasing himself from unwanted memories.
Prior to leaving, Alex began desperately searching for the strange stone that his father had hidden along with the research papers, while his relentless search was successful, he was quite horrified in what he'd found. It might've been better that he hadn't found at all. This strange Philosopher's Stone was apparently a powerful tool used to amplify one's alchemy a hundredfold, though this would've been enough to warrant Alex reason to use the stone for whatever he may have needed, but upon finding out what was used to make the stones, Alex's heart dropped. The key ingredient to the stone was a human soul, and it would take not just a single soul, but multiple humans just to make a stone the size of his hand. Conflicting feelings bubbled up within him, part of him felt as if it were wrong to use the stone. Why should he be able to use the ruined lives to better his own? But, at the same time, could he actually consider the souls in the stone to be anything more than energy at this point? They had no bodies to return to and at this point were just trapped souls, so it was probably crueler not using them. Weighing the options, Alex chose the latter and decided he'd use the stone when he needed it most.
Driven by desperation and depression, Alex began looking into the forbidden alchemical practice, the one that has been forbidden since the foundation of the great nation of Amestris, human transmutation in hopes of reuniting with his sister. Tireless research and countless hours worth of preparation went into this ungodly practice, to him, it was all worth it. He ignored what he father had told him about playing God, knowing full well a second attempt would likely send his soul to Hell, even if said attempt at human transmutation failed. Ignoring the warnings and potential consequences, Alex attempted the forbidden act and soon found himself on the other side of the Gate, meeting with some strange being that simply referred as God, the Universe, One, All, the Truth, and claimed it was Alex himself. His legs and a nearly perfect Philosopher's Stone seemed to be enough of a payment for the body of his beloved sister, but unfortunately her soul was not nearly enough of a payment.
Overjoyed that he could once again hold his beloved sister, the loss of his legs almost seemed like a small price to pay. While his sister was seemingly still recovering from being resurrected, he received automail limbs from the Rockbells, local doctors and automail specialists. Thanks to this local family, he was able to get back on his feet, literally. He was up and walking, capable of using alchemy without transmutation circles, and is with his beloved sister once again. Unfortunately, there would be one major stepping stone in front of him.
While he had been reunited with his beloved sister, she was more or less a living doll. She had no emotions, no memories of who she was or who her family was. This hurt Alex more than anything he'd experienced yet in his life, he had his sister back, yet at the same time they were so far apart. He held his beloved sister in his arms, yet it was like she was a complete stranger. His heart had broken into a million pieces and this shattered heart reformed into a heart of stone.
Determined to truly reunite with the sister he loved dearly, Alex would seek the State Alchemy test in order to gain access to what he would need to get his beloved sister back. In order to hide his obvious attempt at the transmutation without a circle, Alex wore specialized gloves with circles on them, while they didn't work, they allowed him to hide his greatest sin from the Führer who would directly judge his alchemic prowess. Unfortunately for Alex, the Führer would see right through his little tricks and took particular interest in him, especially after discovering what Liliana was.
Taking this opportunity to use such a skillful alchemist, Alex was granted the title of the ColdFlame Alchemist and stationed in Central Command Center where he would effectively become a watchdog for the Führer. According to what Alex had been told, the Führer had the resources to give him back his beloved sister, but he'd have to work for it. If he'd refused, Liliana would've been taken in as an experiment, and potentially have been turned into a mindless soldier, Alex would've been executed for breaking one of the most widely enforced laws in all of Amestris, leaving his dreams shattered.
Over the next six years, Alex would keep a careful eye on some of the newest upstarts in the military at the behest of the Führer, most notable he'd keep a watch over the increasingly suspicious Flame Alchemist, whom Alex has developed a heated rivalry with, and the Fullmetal Alchemist as well as his younger brother. In his free time, he'd work on piecing together his memories with Liliana by using old photo albums and drawing they kept at their family home and he would often study what he could to bring Liliana back to the sweetheart he once knew. By the end of this insane ride, he wishes to just one day settle down with a wife and raise a few children.
