The City of Cherak rests upon a small bay on the Threshold Coast of the Northern Inland Sea. This region is called the Deshan Province and Cherak itself is the capital of a powerful Satrap by the same name. Cherak is a highly profitable port, the capital of the largest northern Satrap and home to 2 Lesser Houses, and a dozen vassal states.
The city itself rests both on and within a hill at the edge of the bay. It has several districts each with their own walls, personalities and district guard. At the center of the city is Cherak Castle, a vast sturdy and practical construction built in the first century of the Realm. The Castle has 2 gates leading to 2 different districts of the city. The lucrative Harbor District, and the ancient Glacial District. Attached to the Glacial district is the rather mundane Margard District
