Rules

  • The Rules

If you are a member of the community then it will be assumed that you have read, understand and will adhere to the rules maintained in The City of Souls. Ignoring or breaking these rules may result in receiving a warning or worst case, banishment from the dream and community.

No bullying - We do not tolerate any forms of harassment, racism, sexism or bullying. That said we are only able to mediate public disputes. If you are having a dispute with a player personally we recommend the 'silence rule', if this dispute carries on beyond that you should contact a Guardian of Furcadia.

Furres & Canon Characters - ARE ALLOWED.
Yes, you can bring your fuzz-butts and fandoms to City of Souls. However, keep in mind that we are a strict role play dream, this means that no matter the character you bring, you should follow the canon and setting of the dream.

Public Roleplay - Whether you choose to join or emit a public role play you will be expected to receive all players with respect and kindness. Open role play is for all to enjoy and no one should be made to feel left out.

Technology - City of Souls is a steam powered community for the most part, there is very little technology that remains from the old world since the destruction of the realms. Certain weapons may be accepted within the canon, but should not be too technologically advanced.

God Mode / Over Powered Characters - While everyone is allowed creative freedom in regards to their characters designs, it is required that over powered characters have equally balanced weaknesses to prevent 'god-mode' conflicts. Unless your RP partner states no consent, you should follow the common practice of discussing the power limitations privately with your RP partner first.

Warnings & Disciplinary Actions - We have a strict 3 strikes you're out policy.

    • First Warning - A verbal warning issued by a senior staff member with an attempt to mediate and remedy the situation.
    • Second Warning - A verbal warning issued by management and a temporary ban for 3 days.
    • Final Warning - A verbal warning issued by management and a permanent ban. (You cannot return to the dream.)

Players may report any public discrepancies to a staff member and the report will be viewed and discussed by senior staff and management to decide any disciplinary measures. Staff will not get involved with private / personal discrepancies, this means you will be expected to utilize the silence rule and make a further report to the Guardians of Furcadia if your private / personal conflict persists.

Gods & Goddess - They MUST be submitted to Maddi and Boe BEFORE being played in the dream, showing their strengths, weaknesses and abilities so that we may APPROVE them. This dream is a BIBLICAL based dream. So a lot of the Aztec, Egyptian, greek and so on gods/goddess may not fit the dream's story. However, we are open to work with you.

Biblical Canon Characters - The setting of COS is highly focused on biblical themes, this means that you will no doubt see angles and demons running around the community. However, players are restricted from playing named deities , this includes...

    • Main Archangels (Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel)
    • Known Arch Demons (Unless approved)
    • Big Brother
    • Leviathans
    • God
    • Satan
    • Four Horsemen

Any known biblical figures requires approval from management before being played within the City of Souls community. No exceptions. If you choose to ignore this rule and play a biblical figure without the approval of the Rah you will be asked to remove the character from the setting and may be issued a warning.

  • Custom Species

While we have few restrictions that limit character creation and design, there are conditions that must be followed when creating an original species for the dream. If you plan to create an original species, please follow the guides and rules provided below. . .
    • Consider the Dream Continuity - COS is a post apocalyptic dream that has a strong biblical canon. While the creatures that can be found in the dream may range widely, the general theme of the dream should be considered during the process of creating an original species.
    • Consider the Community - While we encourage everyone to flex their brain muscles and get creative, we do not tolerate pressuring the community to get involved with your species. You may post your species information (once approved by staff) on the community forum and allow members to seek you out from there.
      666
    • Staff Approval - All original species must get approved by management before being implemented into the community. You should have all the details for your species recorded before requesting staff approval. Staff are not meant to 'help create' your species, that is on you. If there are necessary changes that need to be made in order to better fit the canon, that is where staff can assist you. Please remember to provide strengths, weaknesses and abilities before presenting your species to a staff member. Again, we're not very strict on rules, here. So as long as your character isn't indestructible, and isn't stronger than Big Brother or the Four Horsemen, you should get approval easily enough.
