(22:35:05) Maevirin of Fryhst Grove felt she was lost. She was very much new to this city, and while she'd been trying to find a certain business that could potentially hire her, she felt she'd taken a wrong turn somewhere. Spotting a what looked to be a street up ahead, she decided to try taking a turn down it... but... it was a dead end. Not good... She turned to head back down the street in hopes that she could find where she was supposed to be. "Geez... this place is so much bigger than my hometown..." Ears were a hair pointier than the average human's, but then again... some humans simply had pointy ears.
(22:57:31) Lucifuge looked at the young girl. "Good graces, what the hell do you think you're doing?!" He grabbed Mae, pulling her by the wrist into an alleyway. The demon was six foot tall, he teeth bared out of his face, with a glint of armor on his shoulder. "A human wandering by yourself anywhere is one thing. But if you want to be jelly bait, I highly suggest you get a god damned hold of yourself." He pointed to his companion, Arioch, who was standing near a light pole, the demon being nearly as tall as it. "You're lucky we found you when we did. You walked down here for another thirty seconds, and your soul would have been ripped right from your fucking body." A serious concern was placed upon the demon's ugly face. He looked at the light pole. "You are not to move from the light. I'll see if I can't work a configuration spell and get you to Sanctuary." He pulled out a piece of parchment from a small satchel, and a quill, and began drawing circles on it.
(23:01:58) Arioch stood emptily by the light pole, watching Lucifuge's aggravation. "YOU ARE A FOOLISH GIRL. YET YOU ARE A LUCKY ONE. IT IS A MIRACLE YOU HAVE GONE AS LONG AS YOU HAVE WITHOUT DYING. THANKFULLY, WE AS SURVIVORS MUST LOOK AFTER EACH OTHER." He stood guard by the light pole, taking deep breaths. "SLIMES. THEY ARE COMING." Arioch was right. If Mae looked closely, deep in the distance, Noxsine could be spotted all around the area. They were pretty large for Noxsine too, and their power could be felt. "SHOULD THE NOTHINGNESS CONSUME YOU, YOUR SOUL IS TRAPPED IN THEIR FLESH. THERE WILL BE NO AFTERLIFE FOR YOU, AND YOU WILL ULTIMATELY DIE."
(23:11:37) Maevirin of Fryhst Grove eeped as she was grabbed, a spark of light emitting from her left palm. "I was just trying to find my way to an office building. I'm new to town." She looked between the two, taking in a soft breath. Though, she went wide-eyed at the sight of the Noxsine in the distance, the same hand that had emitted the pale light before clenching slightly. "What... are they?" She stared hard at the creatures... at the darkness... but it was clear her ultimate decision was to stick near the two, even though she got an odd vibe from them. They, at least, seemed safer than that darkness that was approaching.
(23:16:04) Lucifuge looked at her. "You're...practically innocent. I nearly feel pity." He gazed upon the Noxsine. "Those are the Noxsine, as they call them. Black masses of darkness, emptiness, and fear. They feel off of the life of souls. Lone wanderers just so happen to be their favorite food. Should you have even stepped too close, they could take any form of their choosing, and have torn you to shreds. It's a fear unlike any fear any mortal could fathom to experience." He looked at the hand of Mae's that emitted light. "It's been years since they've come. You know not of them. You must not be from here. This is Hell, the domain of all evil. Noxsine are fond of it here. It's dark, cold, and there are plenty of tortured souls to feed upon." He scowled. "You have supernatural abilities of light. Perhaps they may be of use."
(23:21:06) Arioch looked at Lucifuge as he continued to scribble on the paper, and opened his mouth to elaborate. "THE GLAMOR OF LIFE IS A BEAUTY, AND SO THEY MUST FEED TO END IT. IT IS THE PITIFUL EXISTENCE OF THAT WHICH DOES NOT LIVE, EXCEPT THROUGH THE SOULS OF MEN." He continued. "I AM ARIOCH. MY COMPANION IS LUCIFUGE. WE HAVE COME THROUGH HELL AND BACK MANY TIMES. YOU HAVE ENTERED BUT ONCE AND YOU WERE NEARLY SLAIN." He looked at a Noxsine in the distance. "WE HUNT THESE MONSTERS. THE SOULS THEY TAKE, WE ARE SUSTAINED FROM. THIS IS WHY WE NO LONGER HUNT, KILL, AND EAT HUMANS. THE NOXSINE HAVE DONE OUR WORK FOR US." He scowled. "IF IT IS AN OFFICE YOU SEEK, WE CAN LEAD YOU THERE."
(23:33:21) Maevirin of Fryhst Grove listened to the two, blinking. They used to feed on humans? "I'm not merely human... Maevirin... of the village of Fryhst Grove. It's an elvish village." She moved a hand up to pull a pendant from its hiding spot within her shirt. "It is a pleasure to meet you both, even if it's in a bad situation." She looked to the skies. "If the office building is even still open. It is late, after all. It might be better for me to find someplace to stay the night at the very least." She looked to the hand that had ben glowing, giving a nod. "I've been trained with many forms of magic, including that of light. There are a good few times where my instincts know the proper thing to use in a given situation. But please... let me know if my skills are required."
(23:40:19) Lucifuge growled and continued scribbling, lifting his left hand to let loose a fireball, blowing a hole in a Noxsine growing dangerously close to them, killing it instantly, without even glancing up from the paper. "There are no offices here anymore. Not in hell. None that are functioning, anyway. All demons have abandoned their posts they once held, and now roam free to do as they please. What the demons did not expect is the Noxsine, and now many of them are dead." He looked at her and stopped scribbling. "What you saw me do now is use fire to kill one of the gelatin. Your light powers can expel them. You have a greater chance to survive than a regular mortal. The difference is that you have the fragility of a human, so it matters not whether you are human, elvish, strigoi, dhampir, cambion, dwarven, or the like. All that matters now is survival." He continued scribbling. "We will move as necessary to get you to your location, but I say one thing. Do not come back here alone ever again."
(23:43:00) Arioch grunted as Lucifuge killed the Noxsine. "ME GO COLLECT ENERGY." Arioch went over to the Noxsine, pooling his hand over, and collecting some moving orbs drawn from the body of the slime. He placed them in Lucifuge's satchel gently. "YOU MIGHT THINK YOU ARE SAFE HERE. YOU ARE NOT. BUT WE WILL GET YOU TO SAFETY. IT TAKE MORE TIME TO MAKE THE SEAL, SO IF YOU PLEASE, SHOW US THE EXTENT OF YOUR POWER. IT TELL US HOW MUCH YOU CAN DO, AND WHAT WE MAY PUT YOU TO USE FOR."
(23:51:13) Maevirin of Fryhst Grove gave a nod to the two. "No offices... then the..." She pulled out a piece of paper from her pocket, an address written in. "This must have been a trap then. I don't know who would have sent me here on such a fool's errand." When asked to show the extent of her power, she gave a nod, her eyes closing softly. They already knew she had light energy flowing through her, though they had only seen that small flash of light from her hand. Lifting that same hand to the skies for a moment, a shield of light would surround them. It wouldn't last forever, but was strong enough to possibly make the Noxsine wary at the very least. Off of the shield, what seemed to be tendrils would start to form, each one its own separate element. The woman was focused, that was certain.
(00:01:13) Lucifuge grinned. "Well, damn. A supe who can use the Shield of Noah." Lucifuge had weird names for things. "Seal's done. We're gonna get you out." Suddenly, the paper glowed a burning read, and a growl surrounded Arioch and Lucifuge. "A fool's errand indeed it was. You should not set foot here again, lest you wish for death." The scroll glowed, and Mae's shield turned red, and all three of them began to glow. "Ac noctem in luce moventur. Securitas omnibus praestat." Suddenly, the ground shook, and everyone looked like pure red energy -- and the energy dissipated. All that remained in the streets of hell were dim lights, and wandering Noxsine. The three had been moved to safety -- for now.
