(15:37:35) Thena. Who knew she could really even play piano? Thena came here, mostly because she wanted to get out while the sun was high and the noxsine were hiding in their whatever little holes they came from. Where do they even go when the sun comes up? They can't go into any buildings they're not welcome in.. Without much thought, she figured she might head towards the church. Perhaps talk to Samuel if he was there. When she walked in, she didn't really see anyone at first. Moving over towards the piano in the back of the room, she took a moment to stare at the keys in silence, bringing her hand up to rest on them. She remembered when her dad found an old piano in one of the places they stayed over a few night in and he would play this one specific song that she always enjoyed. A peaceful piece. He would play it for her to help her sleep at night but there were times when she just watched every single key stroke he made. Never, had she attempted to play it before. Perhaps she's a natural. (c)
(15:39:49) Thena started off with a few keys to get her hands in the right position. And finally, she began to play the song she loved so dearly. For a moment, while she played, she lost herself in her thoughts, thinking about how many times her father played it. The nights she enjoyed just watching him form her little sleeping bag on the floor. Oh, how she misses her parents, dearly. She only wished she paid attention to the lyrics her mother used to sing along with it. For now, this would have to do. She's quite good for someone who's never actually touched a piano before. (d)
(15:46:23) Samuel Leo had traveled back way early in the morning. But he was always an early riser. He didn't have much to pack, as he had left for that bar with intent to go back to Church the next morning. He wasn't currently in the main hall, prepping for the mission he had in mind. But when he was filling vials of holy water, music started to pour out and his blue eyes widened. Jaw fell as his heart stopped, picturing Biyu in that white dress that she had been when she had played. Excitement rose over him as he gently placed the vials back down and ran into the main halls, smiling brightly and widely with a carefree look on that face, only to start to a stop when he saw Thena sitting there instead, but watching her play in silence. The way his shoulders slumped, and how those blue eyes looked a bit dimmer, it was obvious his hopes had been crushed. He bit his lower lip and took a deep breath as blue eyes closed, letting her finish the song out as he remained to just hear the music, >
(15:46:59) Samuel Leo staring up at the ceiling. Alright, I'm sorry. I know I am supposed to be alone...it's hard sometimes God. Okay? I mean, I only got you and me man. Which is all I've ever needed but I'm used to other Christians being around and I got...nobody else right now. It's a tad maddening. So just...give me insight on what you want me to do with Thena. She came here seeking, let me fulfill it for your Glory. Please. With that, he'd open those blue eyes and settle on her as the last piece of note was played, smiling brightly as he felt a bit of stirring in his chest. A familiar stir that kept him somewhat peaceful and less solemn. "Nice piece. Biyu used to play too." was said softly. Blue eyes looked over the stained glass. "Did you come here to ask some questions, Thena?"
(15:52:12) Lefu did not mind the heat and perhaps welcomed it as the chills of the night quickly melted away. Her hair had been straighten and braided, left to sweep against her lower back with each step. She was not alone in her wanderings, hyena beast strapped with harness and pulling what appeared to be a wagon heavy with supplies. Medical supplies and food and water; how had she come across such things? Over the twenty years she had acquired and protected a rather nice stock of supplies. It was her intent to deliver them to Trent and hopefully locate Trae. The distant sound of piano music was enough to draw her, wandering into the church with beast in tow; the symbol between her shoulder blades burned and the discomfort registered in the strange creature at her side. The priestess would not linger in this holy place for long. She had too much blood on her hands it would seem. "Pardon the intrusion." She called out to the pair, a step forward taken as the beast moved forward, standing tall as>>
(15:53:55) Lefu: >> his mistress selected a bag that was already pre-packed with supplies. "In case the attack weakened your supplies." Amber gaze danced between the pair as she approached and set the bag down, smile offered though whatever kindness she attempted to display did not reach her eyes. It was easy to go through the motions of civility when there was nothing worth taking from them.<e>
(16:06:25) Thena had managed to leave the bar as soon as the sun came up. She had changed into a new outfit she managed to scrounge up during her raid of an abandoned house. And then after, that's when she went to the church. She hadn't realized anyone else had walked in, mostly because she was so zoned into her piece on the piano. It wasn't until she finished and the silence was broken by the pastor's words. She quickly turned her head to look at the man, blinking as she gathered her composure. She's a jumpy one. "Who's Biyu?" She questioned curiously. Thena doesn't know many other people in the city. Not by name, anyhow. There are people she has as regulars that she trades with. But she's not exactly... Social. She opened her mouth to speak again to answer his question with her own, but her attention was quickly taken away by the woman and her... beast that walked through the door. Her eyes went wide and her face, pale. Like all the color had been spooked from her body. Not that (c)
(16:06:33) Thena. she had much color to her, anyway. What is that thing?! Almost too scared to say anything, the girl got up from her seat and back up more by the piano, unsure of what that thing was and who this woman was. Friend or foe? They seemed friendly enough, but Thena is absolutely horrified of any animal that's bigger than her. In either owl or human form. (d)
(16:13:26) Samuel Leo turned those blue eyes to Lefu whence the sound of scratching dull claws was heard. Smiling over to the woman as she stepped in and said those words. "There is no intrusion in the Lords house, but always welcomed to enter and find rest here, Ma'am." Poor Samuel had no idea that she was...something else. Because he was a human! The sight of what she had gathered had Samuel chuckling and smiling, hands clasped behind his back. The beast? He wasn't afraid of the large thing, even as it stepped out in front. Her offer as she approached and set the bag down onto the piano had Samuel offering another bright smile to her, clearly reading that dead light in those eyes. "Thank you for your generosity. Is there anything I could offer you in return for your kindness?" was asked, with a enthused passionate sounding tone that Samuel seemed to almost always carry. Thena had gotten to see that small other side of him, but he was still aiming high with God focused ideas. It all >
(16:13:31) Samuel Leo started with showing love. "But noxsine do not enter here, ma'am. I do appreciate the concern. As demons at times, more upper tier ones...have been known to come in here." was admitted, and glancing up at the cieling that was still being worked on being patched. "We have allies though, but I will still accept your offer." The question on who Biyu was? "She was lost and weary and scared like you, naive yet cryptic....and smart." came his reply. "A Asian girl who grew up in a horrible past, but came to know God and left here." The way he spoke about her, suggested there was more than just normal love for her...but he likely wasn't about to say that out loud or even admit to it. No point when she wasn't here anymore.
(16:25:02) Lefu took note of the girl's retreat, head tilting ever so slightly before she glanced toward her companion. "We all start as something else, cher. Do not fear, he will not bite. We are not here to...destroy." She stated softly, as she shook her head, focusing on the unknown male. "I am not concerned about the Noxsine but the dragon that attacked the city." She stated simply before motioning toward the bag, "Items are scarce and I am certain much has been destroyed. This is just in case you are running low on some things." She explained before motioning toward the beast to wait outside.
(16:32:48) Thena stopped breathing for several seconds as she stared at the beast. How is the pastor so... Calm? Shit, that thing is massive and it could probably kill all of them in one swipe. She hadn't realized how hard she was clenching her jaw until the head and jaw ache started to set it. That's when she also realized she wasn't breathing, either. Finally, she exhaled and took in a few small breaths. Remaining perfectly still, her eyes never left that beast, even after Samuel addressed the woman and answered her question. For a while there, she didn't even comprehend what Sam had said. Finally, the woman addressed her fear, trying to calm her down. Her eyes were torn from the beast and to the woman and she simply blinked. A little bit of color came back to her when she started remembering to breath. Turning back towards the beast, she couldn't help but stare. But she listened to what the woman had spoke about when it came to the dragon that destroyed half the city. She (c)
(16:32:56) Thena. remembered that day like it was just a few hours ago... It had destroyed her previous home, leaving her to have to find some place else to go. The day Big Brother revealed what he is and fought the good fight. She's still unsure of who's side Big Brother is on.. Thena glanced over at the bag and leaned over to look inside of it curiously. She's all about supplies and collecting necessities. It's her specialty as a merchant. Nosy little thing, isn't she? As the beast was ordered to wait outside, Thena watched it walk outside and felt relief for now. But she remained quiet for the time being. She's so shy... (d)
(16:51:02) Samuel Leo blue eyes shifted to her as she said that, nodding in agreement. "We did indeed." was agreed to Lefus words, but meaning something entirely different. The mention of the dragons attack had Samuel nodding in understanding. "I see. I prayed that entire day." which, really...he had. "But if there are supplies that are needed for those who were hit...please. Tell them about this place. We give free supplies, shelter from the Noxsine. No charge at all, no expectation to return or restock. It is up to them, but we have plenty to go around at the church right now. So put those supplies somewhere else where they could be used...because. We are fully stocked." was assured to Lefu, grasping the bag and placing it back into her hand. "Though again, your generosity is heavily appreciated." That hand would lift towards the hyena while he spoke to Lefu, blue eyes shifting from her once he was done talking to her to the beast. Was he really gonna try to bravely pet that thing? >
(16:51:08) Samuel Leo Yes, he was. As long as it did not snarl or stiffen or snap....Samuel would aim to gently rub his digits along the dogs ear, scratching at that angle that was always hard to reach for them. "He is just a big teddy bear." was assured to Thena. Likely the only reason he could successfully do this was because the hyena would be able to tell that he wasn't a major threat to him or his owner. Samuel wouldn't hurt a flea, thus no reason to be aggressive towards him.
(17:01:00) Lefu tensed as that marking between her shoulder blades burned and the whispers began. Slender fingers lifting to press against her temple as the voices began to scream, was it disapproval that her kind gesture was turned down? The beast froze mid-step, a large rounded ear turning as its attention shifted between the three, that odd marking on it's hip glowing faintly. She would place the bag on the floor and turn away, "Please do not lie to the girl about his nature you know nothing of." She stated softly as she moved toward the door, though it did allow Sam to touch him. Pincer like mandibles flexing before it continued its way out. "Do have a good day you two, we have other people to visit." He coud do with what he wished with the supplies, moving out into the heat of the day and off to some unknown location.
(17:15:11) Thena had no idea that the church offered free supplies. So when he said these things to Lefu, she stared in slight shock. What? No need to repay them in any way? Shit. And here, she's been running around like a chicken with her head cut off, trying to find simple bottles of water to live off of and make difficult trades when all along, she could have just come to the church to get what she needed? Well, shit. Either way, her thoughts were interrupted by the fact that Samuel was actually taking the woman up on her word that the Hyena was safe to be around.. Was he actually walking up to it to pet it?! Shit, he's crazy as fuck if he thought she would trust anything anyone said about their 'pet beast.' That very awkward and unsure smile on her face was more concerning than it was amused or 'friendly.' It was a smile that said, "NO THANK YOU, YOU'RE CRAZY." She took another step back and shook her head, saying she's perfectly fine in her own little bubble away from both (c)
(17:15:18) Thena. the woman, and the Hyena beast. She didn't know them very well. Not that she knew Samuel. But the woman seemed to correct Samuel the second he preached about the beast being some 'giant teddy bear.' That, alone, was enough to keep her at a distance, as well. As the woman and Hyena took their leave, she watched, simply bringing a hand to have awkwardly without a word. If Sam didn't want the supplies, she'll take them. After all, most of her things were destroyed in the fire from the dragon attack. Thena moved back to the seat at the piano, relaxing now that the thing she fear most in here is gone. Her muscles ached, having not realized just how tense she had gotten the entire, short amount of time the two were here. Maybe one day, she will learn to build some nerves of steel. But not today. Her attention was granted back to Sam, taking in a deep breath and exhaling, "I'll take the supplies if you don't want them. I don't have much left." She shrugged her shoulders, (c)
(17:15:25) Thena. glancing over at the supplies, wanting to rummage through them to see what was there. But she would wait until he gave her ownership of them, first. (d)
(17:21:04) Samuel Leo yep. Sure did. And didn't ask for anything no. Sometimes they ran low on supplies, but ever since Lucifuge and his little sidekick had come around...they had been oversupplied really. That smile that Samuel could easily read had him laughing in bright humor, glancing over to the nice woman who warned such a thing. Watching as it padded off after its owner. "I'll be praying over you ma'am." was whispered, watching as the duo left only to turn those blue eyes back to Thena as she settled back into the piano with that posture slowly relaxing. Nodding and gesturing to the supplies. "More than welcome to it. All I ask is that you share if you see someone in dire need. Can you promise me that, Thena?" Hand lifted to place a hand on her shoulder as he crouched. "You okay? You come here to seek supplies or did you have any questions for me?" Blue eyes searched hers with a concerned look on that face. At least he truly cared, that much was obvious. Even if he was crazy in Thenas eyes, he cared.
(17:35:18) Thena. The hand on her shoulder made her flinch just a little but she didn't pull away. She figured the preacher man meant no harm to her. It's just a natural reaction for someone who's so outrageously skittish. You would think, growing up through the whole war thing, she would've learned to feel more at ease about certain things. Unfortunately, she was thrown to the wolves at such a young age, that she really had no real prepping for the real world. Looking at him, she nodded in agreement. She does try to help people out if she can. Especially anyone with kids. She remembers the struggles her parents had when she was younger. Trying to find diapers and kids clothes to keep her clothes and healthy when she was a child.. That put one hell of a strain on her. The question she had was mostly about his mission, but she seriously needed to rethink it. "It's nothing important. I'll just come back later." She smiled, moving to get up and grab the bag of supplies the woman had dropped off. (c)
(17:36:30) Thena opened it up a little to look through it briefly to see what was there. Some food, medical supplies, and things of that nature. Good, she's going to need it. "I'm going to get these to some of the people that stay in the building I live in before dark. Maybe I'll see you around." She smiled before heading back towards the door. (d)
(17:39:50) Samuel Leo could feel her jump, but he was assured that she trusted him somewhat since she didn't jerk away from his hand. Her nod of sealed agreement had Samuel smiling brightly. "Spread the news about the supplies, alright?" was asked to her, blue eyes searching hers still. "Alright, well I'll be here." was assured to her, smiling right back at her and lifting his hand off of her shoulder as she bent over to grab the bag. While she checked over the goods...Samuel paused. "Hey Thena? You think you'd mind to play some songs? I'd like to hear music again...sometime." was admitted sheepishly, a bit of a insight to Samuel. He missed music. And wouldn't deny someone who could play the music well. She could play well. At her last bit, Samuel offered her a smile as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. "I hope so. Be safe. I'll pray for you." was mentioned, waving to her with a bright smile on his face only to gaze back at the piano sadly. Nope, let's not focus on that. Let's focus on the mission...right.
(15:37:35) Thena. Who knew she could really even play piano?
