Akaicia's front doors were left open in anticipation of her guests. All were welcome in her humble abode this evening. Some ornately carved hardwood doors throughout the artistically constructed mansion remained locked and heavily barred by magic cast by the vampire herself. Few knew of her past - but she had a life before immortality. It was magic that originally granted her everlasting life. Akaicia's home was exactly what one would expect if they'd ever come to know the woman. She had an affinity for royal colors - rich reds, glistening golds, deep purples, sterling silvers, royal blues - and each room throughout her ornate mansion was themed accordingly and appropriately. Fires roared and danced to their own rhythm within large hearths constructed from fine masonry in nearly every room. The overruling of Hell didn't seem to have effected the fiery haired vixen, or if it had, she'd recovered remarkably well. What a privileged glimpse into the woman's life. The low thrum of music and the exquisite scent of fine dining would be what guided her guests down the appropriate corridor. A warmly lit room of reds welcomed the guests. To the left of the entry way: a polished silver tree, dangling from its limbs were silver chains attached to ornate silver vials containing what looked to be blood. To the right of the entry way: a long antique hardwood table overflowing with all kinds of food and beverages, some more supernaturally delectable than others. The room was decorated with a careful and keen eye and was lit by the light of the fireplace, and numerous lamps with shades of red lace - the whole room was red. Perhaps she was expecting bloodshed and wished to save her decor? Or perhaps, the vixen simply adored the color. The vixen herself was standing at the table to the right, pouring herself a flute of a deep crimson liquid that held a rather sweet scent. Akaicia's feminine figure was flatteringly accentuated by the strikingly elegant black lace dress that fell all the way to the carpeted floor. Waves of vibrant red hair has been tamed into a messy chignon, the odd strand left to fall free in order to flatter the natural tone of her jawline.Emerald eyes surveyed the room to ensure that everything was in place before ruby-red lips pulled upwards to form a charming smile. There were numerous humans positioned through the room: the women wearing formal, yet rather revealing dresses, while the men wore well-fitted suits. They were all ready to serve - the Domina still held on tightly to the relationship between Mistress and Submissive. As the first of her guests began to filter in she'd welcome them graciously, "Welcome to my home," her accented tongue practically purred as she gestured widely to the room, "Please, grab a vile," she'd point to the silver tree, "and help yourselves to whatever you desire. I'm so thrilled that you've made it this evening."
Piotr Arcaine's giant form darkened the doorway of the foyer not long after the first guests began to arrive. The odd hermit had been beckoned, by whom he did not know. All he did know is that someone or something had wanted him here. How he had arrived here was still a mystery he could not solve. There had been darkness, a darkness deeper than the one that haunted his sleep every time he closed his eyes. When he awoke, he was in this world, this...mirror..of where he had originally came from. It hadn't taken himself long to acclimatize to this strange reflection of the world he once knew. The only real difference was that forces of the infernal and sublime were more open than in the world he came from. In an odd way, he found this a refreshing turn of events. The event on hand, that had been harder to prepare for. His shoes, well, good thing black leather never went out of fashion. A little polish and some fresh laces and nobody would know the difference. His duster he'd never leave behind, though he did remove the hood for the evening. It better helped to conceal the large knife he wore. Whether or not anyone would stare at the scarring along the edge of his face, or at his ghostly white hair...well, that'd be someone else's problem. He would take a vial when one was offered. But he'd just pocket it. For now. For the moment he'd just be content to mingle towards the edge of the crowd, getting a sense of who was who.
Addalyn. This is usually her kind of scene. But most of the time, she ends up kicked out. Damien is usually her partner in crime, but it seems he's either going to be late to the party or has other plans. Oh well. She's perfectly capable of ruining a party all on her own. For now, she behaved herself. Walking through the doors, she stopped, looking around with those gorgeous blue eyes of hers with devious thoughts grinding in her head. The smell of food, making her hungry. Her hand placed on her stomach. She's eating for two. Yep. She's got a bun in the oven and only had a small pudge that could be shrugged off as baby fat. She might even keep this one alive. Might. Addalyn isn't exactly sane, nor is she really good mother material. But there's something about this child that has her being rather protective. Oh, if only her father knew he was going to be a grandfather. If only she knew he was even alive... Addalyn continued down the hallway, moving past people and dodging the hellos from other people. Most people knew her and saw her as trouble. Addalyn is pretty well known for causing trouble at events.. Especially at Big Brother's annual balls. After the commotion she caused at the one this year?? Well... Let's just say she's lucky he hasn't come after her, himself. Addalyn wore a dress that was still rather revealing, but at least it's not a piece of lingerie like she does at every other event. Taking a vial of that blood as instructed, a small smirk placed on her lips, staring at the red-headded woman. Wandering over to a corner, she stared, watching. Waiting... What's brewing in that chaotic mind of hers...?
Lefu wandered into Akaicia's home with the rest of the guests, taking note of the decoration and the hostess in general. The voodoo queen was dressed for a night of mingling; she had not expected to do much walking and seemed content enough to draw the eye. Her hair was left to fall in tight curls down to the small of back, "Thank you for having us, cher." She greeted her own accented words honey to the ear. The witch would glide across the room to inspect the additional servants before her attention toward to Piotr. There was a familiarity to him that she could not place, weaving through the masses to stand before him, "I have seen you before..." she stated softly, before turning her attention to the other guests that filtered into the room.
Bahamut. Man was adorned in tux of deep red and black, as dress code demanded, piercing blue hues watched the gathering of guests from the shadows, the man easily blending into the darkness thanks to skin colour and dark tux. Tongue escaped slightly parted lips, running over the flesh. The great beast was still quite hungry. Perhaps he could lure a few of these morsels out after the party. His Master wasn't seen to keep the beast under control tonight. Pushing from resting spot, Bahamut would approach the inviting manor, pausing to admire the décor. He was still a dragon, after all, one that could admire the finer arts. A voice soon rang out, and his eyes turned toward the woman greeting the guests as they filtered into her home. He wouldn't respond, not yet, he would allow those before him to do so. As she mentioned the phials, he'd turn toward the tree, grasping a single one and examining it. Interesting.. Lips pulled back in a grin, his agenda changing in a heartbeat. The dragon would stay a little longer than planned, to see what fun was to come.
Akaicia lingered where she stood for but a moment, taking a little time to examine all of those that had decided to join her this evening. What a strikingly attractive lot. Yes, they would do. How amusing this evening would be. Her intentions were still unknown - perhaps she truly wished to have a good time. After all, could one grow tired of being a constant villain? Hah. An amusing thought. A familiar scent wafted in through the door as Addalyn entered and a quickened heartbeat echoed from within her - sounding of a humming birds heart. "Darling," the woman's accented voice called across the room towards the woman that she'd come to know as Derick's daughter, the daughter that had killed him, to be exact, "it's a pleasure to see you again and you've brought a pleasant little surprise." The woman directed her emerald eyes knowingly towards her abdomen. "Won't you stay a while?" Of course she would, why else would she have showed up? Her eyes came away from Addalyn and addressed the rest of the crowd, "And to all of you that I've yet to meet, welcome to my home!" She greeted once again, "I am Akaicia and I'll be your hostess this evening, of course. What are your names? I am so looking forward to getting to know you all." Oh indeed. She inhaled, marking each one of the scents to each individual. "Those vials that you're holding," she directed, "are a tasty little sweet treat that you're welcome to enjoy at anytime throughout the evening. So please, help yourselves."
Addalyn's eyes followed people as they moved about, and land on Akaicia as she neared closer to her. Those blue hues staring at her as she approached. When the woman stated something about her 'surprise,' Addalyn glanced down at her stomach. It's not that obvious... Is it? Fuck all these people with hyper-senses.. She's had demons up her ass all day long because they wanted to 'make a deal' for the kid. But little do they know, her child is half-demon, itself. "I don't know what you're talking about." She stated, glancing at Akaicia with a gaze that basically said, 'shut up.' She doesn't want anyone else here knowing she's pregnant if she can help it. Her question of whether or not Addalyn would stay brought her to roll her shoulders in a shrug, "Depends on how bored I get." Or how drained she got. Fuck being pregnant. It just made her tired all the time. Uhg. The vials were addressed and Addalyn held hers up, shaking it as she looked it over, "Is this some kind of blood extacy or some shit?" Well, wouldn't that make this a party? Normally, Addalyn wouldn't ask questions. Normally she would just down shit without so much as thinking about the consequences. But being pregnant and all.. She's actually trying to be responsible and shit.
Piotr Arcaine's eyes studied Akacia cautiously. She reeked of sex and death and blood, that biting sweet scent that magic takes on when it takes another's life to enrich the caster's. Vampires. He never was too fond of them. And there were a lot of them here tonight. Lefu's words to him caught him off guard. "I know your face." His words a deep rumbling whisper, his pensive expression softening a little. In his eyes you could see him trying to remember who and where, but only fragments he grasped. And like glass, they cut into him the harder he tried to grasp onto them. When she turned away he looked away. From a nearby waiter he took a bottle of the hardest liquor they carried. Something inside him squirmed in severe displeasure, but he shut it out as he took a long pull from the bottle. The burn of grain alcohol was often his go to response for unpleasant moments of weakness. Then the hostess asked for names. "I doubt anyone could pronounce it right. Just call me Peter," rough, deep voice taking a slight accent. Ukrainian perhaps? Russian? Definitely slavic. He'd eye the one woman the hostess was being friendly with. That one seemed like a bag of cats and pregnant? Make that a burlap sack of pissed raccoons. He also noticed that there was a dragon here. "Next we need is three gimps, a demon, and werewolfs dressed like show poodles." He muttered to himself sarcastically..
Akaicia crossed her arms lightly across her tactfully laced chest as she addressed Addalyn again. "Don't you worry, it's perfectly safe. There's a just a little magic in it, that it all." She put a little emphasis on safe, of course. Perhaps she could use this night to grow a little closer to Addalyn. For the sake of no one's interest but her Akaicia's. "Addalyn was your name, wasn't it?" She feigned forgetfulness with a slight tilt of her head. There was no chance that she was going to let the fact be known that she knew the young woman's father. Not yet. There was too much to learn and too much fun to be had. An eyebrow arched curiously as she observed Piotr, he seemed on edge and on alert, when his introduction came she offered him a coy smile and nodded her head in silent acknowledgement. "Peter, then," she then acknowledged verbally, "it's a pleasure to be of your acquaintance." She did know her manners, after all. The Slavic man seemed a little off. "You're quite the comedian. Perhaps you would be so kind as to fetch us a couple of dogs, then?" She mused lightly before bringing her drink to her lips and taking a sip of the crimson liquid she'd poured into her flute earlier on in the evening. "You two would get along, I'm sure." She gestured between the two guests she was currently speaking with.
Lefu would search Piotr's face for a time before she offered a small smile, "That is a start," she whispered quietly to him, turning to face the hostess, leaning just a bit against the taller man, "Peter..." she repeated his named quietly before she offered her own, "I am Josette." She stated simply, lifting the vial to study its contents curiously before rolling it around within the palm of her hand. Her attention would briefly turn toward the exiting figure of the dragon turned human before she focused Piotr once more. "What else do you remember?" she asked curiously, in the natural pause of the conversation dancing around.
Addalyn's eyes began to wander around, looking at everyone who was beginning to arrive and pour into the home. Fuck. Things are much more entertaining with Damien here. They usually have fun preying on victims together. They're a real "Bonnie and Clyde" duo.. But killing people and shit. Aka's words didn't go unheard and she nodded, "Just call me Addy." She purred, glancing back at the woman. Her attention was caught by Peter. For a moment, Addalyn's stare was anything but subtle. Those piercing eyes of hers stared as if she was trying to read into his soul. But further, her attention was grasped by the location of food. With a quick motion, she brought that vile of blood to her lips, downing it. Aka said it's safe, right? So why the fuck not? She needs something to livin' it up a bit. "I'm gonna go get food." She pushed off the wall and walked towards the assortment of food, making herself a plate before wandering back over to Akaicia, picking at the food. It seems she stays close to those she knows - if she knows people - when she's not with Damien. Otherwise, she just goes ape shit and destroys parties from the get go. Maybe being pregnant is making her calm and boring. Fuck. "You know that 99% of the people are here for the free food and to look for valuables, right?" She shrugged, grabbing something else off her plate to shove into her mouth. God, why is she so hungry?!
Akaicia noted that the man wearing the heavy scent of a dragon hadn't stayed long. Apparently he'd dressed up just to pop his head in and leave. She couldn't blame him, this was the first time she'd opened her doors for the public. Perhaps curiosity had gotten the better of him. Although, the entirety of the situation was a little peculiar. "Josette," she pronounced the name perfectly as she eyed the caramel colored woman, "what a lovely name to much an equally lovely of a face. I sense a certain... power in you." There were other souls present along with the woman in red, and his, piqued the vampires interests. She noted the scars on her flesh - her throat, her shoulder, and the wink of something on her hip. "You must tell me of yourself." She noted the interaction between Josette and Peter - an odd pair, that apparently recognized one another from some place or another.
Piotr Arcaine's eyes still remained cautious, even as Akacia cracked her joke. A dark, slithering part of him was intrigued by this harlot, this ruby drenched temptress. It wanted to coil itself around the hungry essence of her soul, to know the flavor of her dreams. It made Piotr want to drink more in the vain hope he could actually hurl. But he'd play along, cracking a dry laugh. Joesette's voice broke him from his revulsion. "I...remember." It was all he could say. A riot of images and feelings bloomed and died in his mind's eye. Sinful things. Endearing things. When she leaned against him he felt a very strong, intense urge to seize her in his arms. It alarmed him...and excited him. "Fragments. A house. A day. Sunsets filtered through spanish moss. The heat of a bonfire." and other things that were his to know, and his alone. But the proximity of these women, of darker power and dark lineage...it was rousing SOMETHING. Something deep within the carefully disguised body of the man. Something that sang eerie melodies only the dreamer and the madman dare listen to with courage. Something that swam in lightless depths in the oceans between stars. Piotr felt it rising in him. Thus, he took another drink. If only to slow it down to a manageable pace.
Akaicia turned her attention back to Addy whilst Josette and Pete briefly conversed. "Speaking of familiarity, Addy," she swiftly embraced she abbreviated form of the woman's name, "there is something strikingly familiar about you. It is just so odd. I'm normally very good with placing such semblances but I've not been able to figure out just who you remind me of." She feigned absolute naivety as she pondered the matter out loud. Perhaps there had been an ulterior motive behind tonight's event - perhaps it was to draw a moth into the flame. Perhaps tonight had a certain element of danger after all. Alas, the red-headed vixen was the ultimate actress. She'd been playing this particular game as long as she'd been alive and even longer since she'd been dead. 'Daddy Derick' wasn't here to stop her. "If that's what they're here for, then so be it. Nothing will be stolen and the food and drinks are laid out for just that." Her magic would make sure that everything stayed just as it was meant to be - if someone stole it, it wasn't cared for anyways. "Where did you come from, before all of this? [d] [Addy]"
Lefu could not stop the smile the spread across soft lips, amber eyes gleaming with something a touch other wordly; though by all circumstances a human, the woman of many secrets. "You words flatter me, cher." She replied, a hand lifting to rest gently across her chest, there was no hiding the bite marks upon her throat or the back of her shoulder. "I am but a simple...witch." She offered with a light laugh though the sound was short lived as she listened to Piotr offer insight into what he rememebered. "Do you recall the ocean?" she asked softly, content to keep her back to him as gaze danced between Akaicia and Addalyn, lingering on the latter of the two.
Addalyn wasn't really sure what to do here. But food is definitely much more scarce around here with the whole apocalypse thing and all. There were some local farmers in the area who defend their live stock and sell meat and whatnot for other goods or services.. It's usually just outrageous, for what they want in return for them. Then again, she doesn't have too much of an issue in getting food, given she's not afraid to steal from people. But tonight saved her the hassle of it. Her eyes reverted back to Akaicia as she spoke. Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion, "Hm?" She tilted her head, taking another bite of her food. No shame in stuffing her face. There's no one here she cares to impress."Well I've been around for like.. ever.." She shrugged her shoulders again, glancing at Lefu, feeling those eyes on her. A witch? Uhg, she's always had problems with witches. But she didn't say anything. Simply nodded in acknowledgement. "But before this, I bounced around from city to city after I turned 16. Stayed in Cali for a while. Then just started following Damien around." She says his name like she assumes Aka knows him... Shit, everyone should know Damien and Addalyn by now. The duo is relentless in their constant city terrorizing.
Akaicia's focus was brought back to Peter as she felt a wave of unease emanating from him? His heart had quickened only to slow again. The heat of the fireplace grew along with its flames as she studied the man carefully. He was different from most she'd come to meet in this wasteland thus far. She sensed something different in him - he wasn't human, yet he wasn't a vampire... He was something unnatural, and that's all she knew right now. Quite an interesting crowd she'd lured in this evening - demon, voodoo witch, something unknown but not quite human. How fun. "How did you come to hear of this gathering, I wonder, Peter?" Yes, she'd spread the word. But who exactly had told him? "Was it Josette here? You two seem acquainted with one another, no?" Josette, yes, the witch's words lured in Akaicia's attention. "That is what I sense, yes. I am more than familiar with certain magics." She mused lightly as she turned back to Addy so the two could continue to reminiscing.
Piotr Arcaine's eyes took on a faraway look. The ocean. This world had changed in many ways. Some more terrifying than others. But the oceans. The oceans remained. Teeming with hellspawned leviathans, and ancient beasts dredged up from ages of sleep. The oceans still called to him. Even here, even now. "I remember the ocean." And when he found her in said ocean. There were other memories that followed. Secrets only...no...she knew them too. She knew them too! "I know you." His words firmer now, his large hands reaching out to stroke her shoulders. "I came here because I heard of it, was given an invitation. I don't recall his face or his name. He told me that I'd find reasons for my being here, in this city, there. I wanted to tell him he was full of shit. But...something about the invitation. It felt familiar." He answered truthfully. Better to honest with how he ended up here than make up some half-baked lie. Besides, given how odd the events surrounding his receiving the invitation where he figured what harm could it do. Right?
Akaicia furrowed her eyebrows together with expertly practiced confusion as Addy answered her questions cooperatively. "Forever, hm?" She mused lightly, wondering how literal that phrase really was. She wasn't entirely sure how old Addy was, but she could trace it back to at least to the last time she'd laid down to sleep - for that was when Addy had murdered Derick. "Bizarre, perhaps we've crossed paths at sometime in our pasts then. Or do you perhaps have any family, I wonder? Is that who this Damien is, family? Perhaps you two resemble one another if you're family? I have met a Damien or two throughout my life." Of course, she'd known many Damien's throughout her years. It seemed to be a popular name that came back to haunt her time and time again.
Lefu could not hide the smile that brightened her features as it was suggested she the reason for his appearance. "There is a memory from times long gone but it was not I who invited him here." She mused softly, leaning back just a bit at it seemed the pieces of his memory that involved her were slowly coming together. Her hand would move to brush against his fingers as her brushed her bare shoulders. "It is kind of you to invite strangers to your home, but I fear I must take my leave. I do hope to see you all again." She turned to brush her fingers gently across Piotr's cheek. "I will find you again, do enjoy the rest of the party."
Akaicia seemed keenly interested in Peter at this point - and it was obvious, for she wasn't feigning it, as she was so expertly keen on doing. A man had handed him the invitation for the evening. Someone had directed him to come here and for some reason he found familiarity in the invitation. Was is familiarity to herself or was it someone bizarre reasoning as to Josette being here as well, seeing as they seemed so connected. "How peculiar indeed. Such mysteries always catch my loving attention. I wonder who it might have been?" She pondered aloud, to both Josette and Peter, as she eyed the duo thoughtfully, dainty fingers now toying with glistening gold necklace that was draped around her neck. She brought her glass to her ruby-red lips and drained the remnants of the beverage she'd poured herself and placed the flute on a passing by tray carried by a wonderfully attractive specimen of a human. "I bid you farewell, Josette, it was a pleasure meeting you."
Addalyn found it all too interesting how curious the red headed woman is... The girl is usually very spontaneous and resembles that of a hyper-active murderer who puts dark humor in every little thing she does. But perhaps the baring of a child has changed her mood. Bringing her water to her lips, she took a sip, listening to Akaicia as she asked her questions. Narrowing her eyes further, she cleared her throat, shaking her head, "Damien is baby daddy." She stated, watching as a waitress walked by. Addalyn put her empty plate on the tray as she walked by and glanced over to Lefu, who seemed to decide to take her leave. Addy gave the witch a once over before she leaved, almost assessing to see if she could figure out how powerful she might be. Of course, Addalyn has no ability to figure such information out. Finally, she turned back to Aka, "I have no more family. They're all dead." And good riddens in her mind.
Piotr Arcaine watched Josette walk away with an almost overwhelming sense of nostalgia, coupled with a bittersweet sensation of loss. But he couldn't connect it to a tangible memory. Just...feeling. It was all he had. It felt like something, or someone, was laughing at him. As her fingers touched the cool skin of his cheek he nearly shuddered. "Josette..." He said the name slowly, forming it into a memory he hoped he could keep locked in his mind. Then his attention turned back to Akaicia. His back straightened and he exhaled slowly to regain his composure. He'd take another pull on the bottle he held. But it seemed to be doing little. Or, perhaps he just had too much of a tolerance for the stuff anymore. Either way it felt futile to keep drinking. He'd simply hand the bottle off to another no name guest, watching said guest take his gift like it was the next best thing since sliced bread. Charming. "Perhaps whoever invited me will reveal themselves in time." Or perhaps they did so to flaunt his broken memory to someone who might find such a thing useful. Who could say?
Akaicia puckered her lips thoughtfully and shook her head as Addy corrected with further information regarding Damien. "Hm," she emitted as she brought her arms up to cross back over her chest, "well there goes that theory. I have to admit defeat then. I can't place it." She winked in the young woman's direction. "It must have been one of your dead relatives then. Perhaps a parent. I'm sure I would have recognized your lovely faces details had I'd seen it before. But it's not truly important, I suppose." She dismissed the subject with a wave of her hand. That waving hand flagged down that utterly attractive waiter again, once he was at her side she made a simple gesture with her hand. He bent over slightly and bared his neck for her, she turned and in a sultry motion she bit into his neck and took a long taste. She restrained herself, though, and pulled away and sent him along. "This world is fabulous now that it's in ruins, don't you agree? I love the lack of rules aside from Big Brother's rulings. Although, I have to say I do adore how he runs it all. Don't you both agree?" She spoke to both of her remaining guests that were actively conversing with her. "I could only hope so, I'm sure he's a charming fellow shrouded in all sorts of mystery and misery." She mused lightly as Peter spoke of the man that invited him again. "Although the mystery is absolutely thrilling, wouldn't you say?" She mused lightly. "Is there anything I can get for you, Peter? You seem so stressed."
Addalyn felt a little intrigued by her questions. It's interesting.. Perhaps she's prodding at something. The girl cocked her head to the side, staring and the vampire. "You ask a lot of questions.." She cooed curiously, as if poking at the fact that she's being a bit overzealous on the topic. "I doubt you knew my deadbeat mother who left me at the age of 6 and my father? Too busy in his own work to socialize with anyone, including his own daughter." Of course she would make her parents out to be the bad guys... They did lock her up until the day she turned 16. And even then, she had to escape on her own until her father gave up trying to get her back inside. There's something very dark about Addalyn, and that much was proven after she and her uncle killed her father. As Aka went on about 'Big Brother,' she could only roll her eyes, "Pfft," She began, shaking her head, "Grimm is no man to bow to nor show appreciation to." Yes, indeed, the girl knows him from long before the war ever erupted. Before he had as much power as he does, now. "He thinks he's high and mighty, but there's talk of his fear for the four horsemen coming to town." A smug grin on her face, "It'll be fun to watch him burn when they do."
Piotr Arcaine felt his stomach twitch as he watched Akaicia take a taste of a random waiter. These kinds of things were more commonplace in this world but it still seemed...gaudy. At the same time, watching her feeding, it made him hungry. But not for that boy she was snacking on. Oh no. Darker hungers lurked in him, richer food beckoned to his palette. But even in this place he dared not indulge. But the alcohol in his system...oh no. It seemed to have had the opposite effect. His hunger seemed more visceral, squirming in his entrails as he felt the first phases of the change. His eyes would start to give a sinister topaz glow, the iris expanding as the pupil took on a shape similar to a starburst. But he kept control, kept the Other in check. For now. And then Akaicia had to say something. "I'll...be fine." Sure he will
Akaicia rolled her bared shoulders in the motion of a careless shrug when Addy pointed out that she'd been asking a lot of questions. "How else am I to learn anything about those that I meet? I can't simply make assumptions about everyone. If I did, I would never get the facts straight. Call me old fashioned, but it is by questioning and conversing with those around you that truly allows you understand those who you have in your company." The statements she made of her parents she already knew to be false but she played along by feigning a look of pity. "What a shame, truly. At least you have a chance to start over." She'd been blessed by the fact that she'd possessed a healthy relationship with her parents prior to her immortality. Her human life was something she held near to her heart. Or the organ that once functioned as such. "Is that so?" A snap of her emerald eyes towards Peter signified that she'd sensed something changing in him - something pulsating within him. A quick survey of the man and she'd swiftly picked up on the change in his eyes. "Stranger and stranger." She muttered beneath her breath as she turned upon a heel so she could face him more directly. "Where is it that you hail from, Peter?"
Addalyn still thought it fishy. But then again, she's hormonal and cautious of everyone, right now. Her hand moved towards her belly as the overwhelming feeling of nausea began to hit her light a fucking freight train. Her head, spinning and she nearly fell back. Had it not been for a small chair next to her to hold onto, she might have, "Whooa.." She huffed, shaking her head. Taking in a deep breath, she sighed heavily. Stabilizing herself, she stood up straight again, waiving off what Aka had said and turning towards the man. Those natural, animalisitc instincts of hers kicked in on over-drive. The man was starting to change it seems and it's not sitting well with the nogitsune. Her eyes focused on him, "Best contain yourself. Or if you're about to snap, I suggest you go elsewhere." She huffed, narrowing her eyes as they shifted to a glowing blue. Her ears and tails popped out. Perhaps she's just being over protective because of her pregnancy? Or maybe whatever the fuck Akaicia put in that vile is making her extremely aggressive. Either way, some shit's about to go down if she can't calm herself down. But this is Addalyn, we're talking about. She doesn't calm down. She just rides the crazy train until it crashes and burns.
Akaicia watched as Addalyn wavered. It looked as if that vial of magic was finally kicking it - you just never knew how long it would take with some non-humans. Perhaps here is the beginning of the end of the night? She mused inwardly as she watched Addalyn's transition. The heart rates in the room were echoing in her ears and she was carefully gauging everyone's reaction to the scenario at hand. As Addalyn snapped outwardly towards Peter, she'd stand and watch for the man's response. It was interesting how far the apple had fallen from the tree. "Are you alright, Addalyn? Perhaps you should rest for a moment." She voiced concern as she stepped closer towards her two guests. The red-headed vampire knew well enough what the nogitsune's reaction would be, though. Predictable, to say the least, and she was more than prepared. After all, had she not been the one to invite a bunch of supernaturals into her home? Demons and monsters alike to dwell beneath one roof?
Piotr Arcaine's body, as if in perfect response to Addalyn, would ripple. His flesh literally heaved of it's own will as thick tendrils could be seen pressing up from beneath the skin of his neck and sides of his face. His eyes locked onto her, and for a brief moment she'd watch as the irises and pupils of his eye would split into multiples. But before anyone might have said anything the multiples slipped back together quickly. As if nothing had happened. "I'm from the bayou. Down in the everglades and mangroves. Where salt and freshwater meet." He spoke, his voice taking a heavy croaking tone before he swallowed hard. He forced the change back, the tendrils beneath his skin slipping back down into him as he maintained control. Stranger, indeed.
Addalyn felt like her chest was on fire. Her temper, flaring up and she felt like she couldn't contain herself. Akaicia's words to usher her to rest brought a dirty and sour look to her face. She knitted her brows together again in a glare, "What the fuck did you spike that vile with?!" She hissed, scolding her. She may be tiny, but Addalyn isn't weak by any means. And getting her so riled up is the worst thing someone could do. Unlike the man, she's couldn't contain her inner anger and hunger. It was like the flip of a switch with her. A poor civilian passed by her, brushing against her shoulder. His apology however, seemed to fall on deaf ears as Addalyn whipped around and pounced with a loud growl. Her teeth sinking into the guy's neck before she pushed him away, taking a chunk of flesh from him. That random stranger was unfortunately, collateral damage for whatever that concoction Akaicia had created. By now, if the man had not bled out, he's most certainly run off to get away from that of the insane woman. Her gaze shifted back towards Aka and Peter; eyes dilated as if she were high on some toxic shit. Welp. At least it wasn't them.
Akaicia watched calmly as Addalyn lashed out at some poor civilian. Did she know the man? No. Did she particularly care that he might bleed out? Not really. The charming expression on her face had washed away but she was more or less unmoved by the show of violence. After all, Akaicia surely had done much worse just last night, no? Something danced behind those emerald eyes of hers though. The accusatory spew of words hadn't fallen upon deaf ears, but rather, they triggered a toothy smirk. "Peter darling, I'm so sorry that this got out of hand. It truly has been a pleasure conversing with you. I did hear that this one has a rather vile temper." She spoke of Addalyn, of course. The flames in the grand hearth behind the vampire roared higher as something within the woman sparked. "Perhaps a little introductory concoction to begin to repay you for what you did to your father, darling." The accented words dripped like molten honey from her silver-tipped tongue as she eyed the raging girl. "I was told to leave you to him," she purred softly as she rolled her shoulder, "but what fun would that be? I was always better at getting the dirty work done." The flames grew higher yet, lapping at the stonework the lined the wall above. "In my own time and to my own liking, of course." Every wary, Akaicia had been careful not to position herself where she couldn't see Peter, either. She wasn't quite sure what he was or what his intentions were yet. "I do hope that little potion wasn't too strong... Although, I'm sure you wouldn't want to birth a child into this world anyways. Not in this day and age, not with a temper like yours. It wouldn't last long." Was she egging the woman on? Probably.
Piotr Arcaine's body strained at the control his mind asserted over itself. The Change could not be held back for much longer. He needed out. He needed to find a proper place to slip out of his mortal shell. The smell of freshly spilt blood only made it worse. "I do apologise, but I must retire for now. I need to find water." It was as polite a parting as he was going to get. Already he felt his bones starting to contort, his musculature thickening and startingto stretch. It made his walk jerky and heavy as he skulked out of the room. He let his nose guide him, looking for water. As he departed, one could see his face starting to stretch. The beginnings of a muzzle of some sort? Either way he'd duck out of sight and left the main party.
Addalyn's eyes seemed to grow brighter and brighter in their glow. But the color began to shift from that light blue to a dark purple. Her anger only perceived more and more as the woman continued to talk. "What the fuck do you know of my father?!" She scolded, fists clasping as that fire began to swirl around them. Addalyn is like an atomic bomb when she gets angry. And those shadows she controls? The ability she got from her father? Well, that's just came swarming back.. Her darkness.. Their hissing noises echoed and the shadows blocked out light, "You fucking bitch, my father is dead!" She hissed. The sudden pains in her stomach brought Addy to her knees quickly, throwing up a little bit. She heaved, trying to keep herself from passing out. That child in her womb, stirring. She could feel it. But this baby is stubborn, just like it's father. No doubt, the kid would gain abilities, just like her father, "Do you have a death wish?" She hissed, scowling upwards. The other man seems to have taken his leave in haste, leaving just Akaicia and Addy to duke it out.
Akaicia's flames continued to rage behind her, licking forward towards the vampire, yearning and calling out for their Mistress. The temperature of the room continued to rise yet the red-headed woman didn't seem to feel it, and if she did, she wasn't affected by it. The encroaching shadows worried her not - at more than one phases through her life, they'd comforted her. Derick had embraced her with them, as had Raven. She didn't fear the darkness and she'd learned overtime that her powers could withstand them. "I knew every inch of him. We were human together and we were immortal together. He was mine, and I was his." She stated without hesitation now. "And he is alive. I would have not believed it to be true had I not seen him shortly after awakening in this overrun land." She grinned wickedly down at Addalyn as she stood before her now, watching as the younger woman as she spat up. "And his is no longer a vampire. I was told to leave you to him, but... well, I was never very good at following your fathers orders." Without a seconds worth of hesitation she'd bend swiftly, aiming a hand right for the sickened girls throat. If the attack had been successful, that iron grip would have a good hold of the woman's trachea. "I have expected Daddy to show up and save the day." She move then to bite, hard, into her neck.
Addalyn couldn't help but let out a loud, animal-like snarl. Her lips curled up, revealing the pearly fangs that protruded from her gums. She stared up at the woman as she went on, "So you're the bitch that broke his heart, first." She scolded, kicking her right where Addalyn had gathered it hurt. "Before my mother. Before me." She hissed out, standing to her feet. Normally, Addalyn would have moved away before the woman could grab her. But Addy had her plans. As the woman took hold of her neck. The shocking news that her father is back.. And he's.. No longer a vampire? Oh, for fuck sakes. If her father hadn't come after her by now, he likely wasn't ever going to. Daddy dearest has a soft spot for Addalyn, that much is true. And that's what makes her his greatest weakness. As Akaicia wrapped her hands around her neck, bringing her teeth to sink the her flesh, Addalyn grinned. Her body combusted into a rich, purple fire - it burns hotter than "normal" fire. It's laced with the magic that makes it potent towards other supes. Nogitsunes and Kitsunes don't have normal fire. "Bite on this, bitch." Her blood began to boil red hot, and if Akaicia wasn't quick enough, she might've seared her mouth and/or hand. "There's a reason Damien doesn't worry about me." She's more than capable of taking care of herself.
Akaicia knew she'd broken Derick's heart - it wasn't an unknown fact to her. She'd done a great many of things to the poor man throughout their relationship. She had never been very good at holding onto relationships of any variety - she destroyed them, like she destroyed all else. She snarled out loud as Addalyn erupted into purple flames. Her grip releasing almost immediately. Burnt, yes, but not for long and not as badly as most would have been otherwise. She had immunity to fires and the heat it brought it with - but Addy's held magical properties, yes. Akaicia's flames threatened to engulf the entire room and her pupils had engulfed the emerald shade that was normally so dazzling. Her elongated fangs visible as she bared her teeth through burnt lips. "I'm going to fucking kill y-" She cut herself short as the frantic heartbeat of the child caught her ear again. Her snarling expression softened into something unreadable and she ceased her movements. "Get out." She started, low, at first. The heartbeat pounded in her head and threatened her sanity. "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" She snarled savagely, the fire from the hearth now engulfing the walls of the room, crawling up towards the ceiling. "Get out, or I will tear your head from your body even if it seers the flesh from my bones." She threatened one last time. She'd not kill another child. She'd lost two of her own now, she'd not be the reason another unborn died.
Addalyn's success in getting the woman off her brought a sense of pride to the girl. But she's sure that only poked the bear. Addalyn is pretty good at not knowing when to stop. When to give up and what could get her killed. It's just, typically, when she made those reckless choices, Damien is usually there to save her ass just in the nick of time. Her three tails began to swarm behind her and those ears swiveled on top of her cranium. The woman's threat seemed to be hindered by the sound of her unborn child's heart beat. And then Addy was ordered to leave. A part of her wanted to keep fighting. But for whatever reason, she cared about this child's life. Like it was different from all of her other unborn children that he died in the past. She felt like she needed to protect it. For some unknown, god given reason. Addalyn stepped forward after the redhead spat her last few words of threats, "Do that and you know my father will never forgive you." She hissed, "If what you say is true and he's actually alive.." That did trouble Addalyn to a degree. What if he does plan to exact some revenge on her? No, she knows her father too well to know he would do anything to actually harm her. Even when she had her uncle kill him, the stubborn old man sat there and allowed it, because he didn't want to 'hurt' Addalyn. Mentally or physically. With that, Addalyn turned to take her leave, leaving a trail of fire in her path as a little payback for her attacks tonight. This isn't going to be the last time the woman sees Addy.
Akaicia knew that Addalyn spoke the truth of her father's forgiveness - or lack thereof - should this go any further. Truthfully, if it weren't for the child, she was sure if she'd care. Not at this point. Nevertheless, that little beating heart within the nogitsune was what had stopped Akaicia in her tracks. It was what was successful in halting her rage. Perhaps it would be Addalyn's saving grace - give it just under 9 months, though. She watched as the woman left with a trail of fire burning behind her. Akaicia was literally burning with emotions - she herself was ablaze now, the lace dress incinerated the second the flames had touched her skin. Where the fuck was Derick, anyways? Once Addalyn was gone, the flames would be extinguished instantaneously with the simple wave of her have, as easy as blowing out a candle. The damage was done, but it would go no further. The remaining waiting staff? They would be the ones to feel her wrath tonight.
END.
