Slavery is NOT Illegal on Petrel Island or any of the islands.
Petrel island will not stand between flesh traders and their coin as some of that coin is passed through the economy. It is however, illegal to take a lawful citizen from Petrel island as a slave. Any individual caught plucking citizens from the island will be dealt with.
- First offense is punished with an extensive fine and requested release of said slave. The fine is paid to the victim.
- Second Offense is punishable by jail time and the removal of a hand. All affected slaves that have been proven former citizens are then released.
- Third offense is punishable by death. All accumulated wealth is secured and dived out between affected thralls as long as they were citizens prior. The Islanders call this “The birth of new money.” Thralls not from the island are indoctrinated as citizens, released and given small stipends.
There is NO Law protecting Zykla from slavers or poachers as Tua'Kaa has been declared wild lands. Most of Petrel Island do not see the majority of Zykla as beings of repute.
