Character Setups
Fantasy: These are more than likely residents of Andra. Some might fit into the not-of-this-world category, but if the character is a magic user, elemental, demon or the like, they're definitely from the planet. There are a few safe areas that they can be a part of, and since most of the towns have been laid to waste their hometown can be called whatever you like, it'd just be a smoldering ruin somewhere.
Sci-Fi: These are poor fools that had the misfortune of getting too close to the world and were shot down by the defense grid around the planet. Crash-landing on Andra at some point is the most likely way they'd arrive. The beginning will involve a crash for those wanting to start as one, but it'd be easy enough to join up later as a previous crash survivor.
Sub-Characters: I know some characters have a companion that normally travels with them. Friend, family, animal, what have you. These are welcome and give a slight benefit, but they also die much easier and the psychological impact of having their buddies getting torn asunder right in front of them should have on the character will hopefully balance it out.
If your character doesn't normally have one but feel it unfair and want the benefit of one anyway, feel free to make one, use a character of yours that isn't listed on RPR or recruit a minion from the populace. Just keep in mind everybody only gets one, once they go down there's no replacements allowed.
Limitations: You're allowed to use two main characters at once, and a sub-character with each. While there's no replacing the latter, if one of your mains kick the bucket you're free to replace them with someone else from your character list. You can do this until you run out of characters. -
Combat and Death
Combat is largely dependent on luck. IE, dice rolls. Some people may not like this, but it's the only way I can think to keep things fair. Rolls will be made with a 1d100, the number that actually means a hit will vary. If only because of knowing how screwy these dice can be. I'll call the range that means a hit at every round of posts if we're in combat. Which means you'll be rolling, then posting.
For example; "whoever rolls between 50-69" or "anyone rolling above 60". Everyone that would roll one of those would be hit. On a rare occasion, the roll may decide if someone is killed instantly, regardless of their health. Usually when a trap or a "boss" enemy is involved. These won't happen often and will only have small chances of striking, so don't worry too much about them unless your luck really, really sucks.
There will be five levels of health. Uninjured, Light Injuries, Moderate Injuries, Critical Injuries and Dead. I'll keep track of these via the member listing. If you have a Sub-Character, you can use it to save your bacon when critically injured and happen to botch a roll, but they'll die as a result. Same goes if one of those instant kills comes up and you're on the receiving end. -
Posting Time
As I don't want this to go idle for too long, there's going to be a penalty for not posting. While there's not any real order planned, it's gonna go in rounds. Once each round starts (when I post), everyone involved has a week to post as well. If you don't manage that or don't at least mention you're not going to be able to post for a while (in which case, we'll work something out), you'll be slapped with an injury upgrade and the next round will begin.
If the injury upgrade will result in dead status, well, be warned now that's what you'll get. I'll write up a little bit about your character being slaughtered or toss them to an evil minion to take care of it. Whichever.
