The current year is 1910, but this is not the Earth you know.

Imagine a mirror image of Earth. Now, imagine that the mirror is slightly warped, causing the reflection to be distorted, different. This altered reflection is the world we know as Aether.

Aether is very much like Earth- similar cultures, similar technology. This story follows the adventures of The Warbirds, a freelance special ops organization stationed upon their mobile headquarters, a great airship known as The Gull. As these citizen soldiers, under the employ of one Nathan "The Condor" Henrickson, venture out on various paid missions throughout Aether, they must band together despite differences in culture, religion, and upbringing in order to survive... and make a little money along the way.

The Warbirds are a hodge-podge group of some of the absolute finest military specialists, professional fighters, and foreign warriors from all over the globe. United into a covert spec-ops mercenary task force under the command of former Kohlewaldish naval-man and half-Nastrel'an Nathan "The Condor" Henrickson, these citizen soldiers have made themselves into a tight-knit family unit, complete with it's own set of quirks.
