Brief History
Selora has seen a lot for her mere two decades of life. Between the Blight, the Mage-Templar War, and the Breach, it's been a rather eventful life as well.
Selora was born in the Denerim Alienage where she had the dubious fortune of being one of the many elves shipped off to Tevinter by Tyr Loghain. Though a cruelty in itself to be sold into slavery it did have the benefit of allowing Selora and her family to escape from the capital city before the darkspawn laid siege to it. She left behind her father, many friends, and extended family members however so that it made a lasting impression on the five year old girl.
Life as an elven slave in the Imperium was not particularly pleasant but fortune smiled on Selora in that the magister who purchased her found her mother very attractive. The older woman did as she had to in order to guarantee her children's survival but a new problem reared its head when Selora began to show signs of budding magical talent. Her dreams grew more and more vivid as the demons of the Fade began to pay more attention to her. In this case, it was her mother's relationship with her magister master that allowed Selora to enter the Circle instead of a less pleasant fate.
Elves were not well regarded even as mages but Selora worked hard and had a raw talent that none could deny. It alternately made her a threat and a valuable ally so she was able to effectively play the politics required. Events in Kirkwall had far reaching repercussions, even in Tevinter. Selora's master granted her freedom and the young woman was elevated to the liberati class; freed slaves. She has retained a large degree of loyalty to the magister on account of this and because of the simple fact that she believed he genuinely cared for her mother's wellbeing even if he could never publicly acknowledge it.
Having fully come of age, Selora has been chosen as a representative of an olive branch from the Imperium to the Gray Wardens. Being an elf, it was thought she would be better received by the Fereldan based group though the fact that she may well also be a spy is an unspoken but likely true assumption. She hasn't participated in the Joining herself but Selora plans to learn more about what life in Fereldan has become since she last knew it. The world is changing and needs people to change with it.
