Feywen looked around the compound as he made his way to the Warden-Commander's room, he had never been around other Wardens. He figured since he was new to the compound it would be good to check in with the Commander. It was pretty impressive for a keep, though he and his trainer mainly stayed in caves as they moved around so he didn't have much to compare it to. The thirty-four year old found the door with some help and knocked not wanting to barge right in. He wouldn't have barged into the Keeper's Aravel, why would he do it here. He moved some of his black hair out of his face, as he waited for permission to enter.
Now that he thought about it, he began to wish that the crazy old mentor of his actually taught him protocol amongst the Wardens, they were always on the move during their years on the move. He sighed softly as he looked around the hall.

There would be a loud booming voice coming from within.
"Come in" Vimes instructed as he heard the knock. When Feywen entered, Roderick was had placed the report he was studying down at the side. The room was fairly spacious, with several bookshelves lining it. It was just a main desk, with some chairs for visitors should they like to sit in, but otherwise devoid of decoration... save what had been given to him as gifts.
"May I help you?" He wasn't able to recognise all the faces of those under his command, but as long as peace was kept he had no qualms with anyone. Dalish from the look of the other. "Are you lost?"

At being asked to enter the elf did so and saluted the commander. "I am not lost, however I am new here," he explained. "I thought it appropriate to check in with the commander." He looked over at him. "My name is Feywen, I was trained by Warden Karin for fifteen years, before he gave in to the false calling."
He made no move to sit down however watched the other cautiously. He wasn't used to other Wardens, and so he would watch and learn on how to act around them.

Roderick nodded his head as the elf entered.
"I see... and yes the false calling claimed several of our orders... I was present. Pleasure to meet you Feywen," he said gesturing for the other to sit.
"Would you like some tea?" he offered. Vimes always had some about.
"So tell me about yourself." He could tell the other was unsure. "And more about Warden Karin. I'm afraid I did not know him well."

"A pleasure to meet you too," He said as he accepted the offer to sit down, the human seemed nice enough. He didn't seem like many of the humans he had encountered during his years of travel either with his clan or with the Warden. Hearing the offer for tea he nodded. "Thank you, Ser." He replied gratefully it had been a long journey.
"I'm thirty-four years old, I was attacked by darkspawn while I was hunting for my clan in the Hinterlands...I was about 19 or 20 at the time and the attack left me stricken with the corruption.." He leaned forward a bit. "Lucky for me Warden Karin was close by and he saved me from the other darkspawn and brought me back to my clan. He was an odd human...but he was a good man..." He looked up at the commander. "Though he was a relatively private man too, the most I know about him is that he's an odd person...I apologize." He said "After I was brought back to my clan my keeper healed me but was told the only way for me to survive was to become a grey warden...needless to say I was sent away. I am an archer mainly, however I am proficient in duel wielding as a duelist, and I am a ranger."

Roderick listened quietly. Quite a number of the records had been lost when the Keep had been besieged by Darkspawn soon after the Archdemon had been killed. The commander sipped his own tea quietly as Feywen recounted his tale.
"There are a few of the Dalish about, a couple of elves as well," he said recounting those whom he had met quite recently. The number of elves was somewhat amusing and astonishing but he could live with that. It didn't matter what race they were, to him as long as they were decent people he was fine with that.
"And indeed, to my knowledge, becoming a Grey Warden is the only way to survive the Taint," he could be wrong there but then again, the role had fallen onto his lap when there were no senior wardens around.
As the elf went on about his skills, Roderick scribbled something down on a piece of paper. He needed to know the strength of his wardens.
"I trust accommodation so far has been adequate? I'm afraid we're still short on staff so you'll have to make do with some things."

"I have had no problems so far, I have just arrived." Feywen assured before taking a drink of the tea, "If needed I can aid in hunting for food or gathering ingredients. I had to do that quite often for the clan, and it would be the least I can do for allowing me to stay." He did enjoy hunting, it was rather soothing for him.
Noticing him scribbling something down he was curious but figured that it was none of his business. It was probably a way for the other male to keep organized, within the keep. Finishing his tea he stood up and saluted to the male. "Thank you for the tea, and allowing me to stay, Ser." He said gratefully. He knew he'd have to get used to his new surroundings and find his way around the keep.

Roderick nodded his head. "I see. Perhaps you could go on a hunting trip with some of our newer recruits then. It would be useful for them to pick up some skills, especially those who have had no experience in such. We've some from the cities who are severely lacking in such basic survival skills." Although they were wonderful at pick pocketting.
"Why would I not let you stay? The keep is for the Wardens and we have to rebuild after the false calling," he said with a sigh. "It did quite a number on our numbers. Clariel was a good leader but she lost her way." His eyes glanced out the window for a while as he reminisced.
