The city of Minrathous loomed in the horizon from the decks of the ship, The Silver Codfish. It was a small trading vessel, captained by an Antivian man. He would not recognise Janella, and she him, mostly because their paths had no reason to cross until then.

"There she is ladies, Minrathous, home of the Imperium. Good luck to you two," he said noting they were elves... although he said nothing about Selora's garb.

The city itself looked... impressive and foreboding, perfect for the image Tevinter liked to cultivate for itself.

Even from afar, certain structures would look odd to a newcomer... mostly because the crumbling structures were being held up by magic itself. It was a far cry from how the rest of Thedas was.

As they neared the docks, one could see elven and human slaves working and toiling away as they brought the ships in and a gruff looking harbour master stood ready to check their papers.
Home... it felt good to be back. Her time in Fereldan had been enjoyable thus far, and Selora would return if that was Magister Deracles' wish, but it was also good to lay eyes on the familiar shores of her adoptive homeland once more. She took a deep breath of the sea air and let it out through her mouth, ears twitching in the breeze as the sounds of the harbor drifted to her. Even Lucius, the armsman who'd accompanied her to Vigil's Keep, looked relieved to see the familiar sights and sounds.

"Welcome to the Imperium." Selora said to her companion, Janella.

Many elves viewed Tevinter as a terrible place of slavery, not entirely without cause. Tevinter had set Selora free though and she loved it despite all of its flaws. The soaring architecture, the grandiose designs, the buildings held aloft by sheer force of magic alone... this was power. This was history. The slaves at work didn't factor in to Selora's appraisal of the city and she disembarked when able, Lucius bringing up their joint parcels they'd brought with. That in itself was a show of power; a human carrying an elf's bag.

The harbor master looked as pleasant as any other, which was not at all, truly. She had some coin to bribe him with if it proved the more expedient route though Selora doubted a mage would be hassled over much. Unless something had happened in her absence, that was. Deracles hadn't informed her of any such thing but he also didn't share everything he knew with her.
If Janella noticed any concern that Roderick had for her then she did not show it. She was nervous about accepting the red lyrium and didn't have any intention of inviting extra trouble by telling anyone of it. Her new armor was quite welcome, she was glad to have it. Her own was quite worn down from multiple fights and a lot of traveling.

The former assassin's gaze slid over to Selora as she was welcome to Teventir. She took in the sights, staring at the architecture held up with magic. She took note of the slaves but didn't pay them much attention. Her posture carried as much confidence as ever, the demeanor reinforced with the armor that she wore. "It's different than any other place I've seen . . . and I've done a lot of traveling since leaving the Crows." Janella had always avoided the place before due to everything she'd heard.

Having always been one to keep her inventory meticulously organized, she presented her papers to the gruff harbormaster, looking him in the eye. She wasn't one to mince along to act meek even if she was an elf. Due to their race she assumed they'd be questioned, despite their status.
The harbour master was a human of course, and he narrowed his eyes at them when the ship pulled in. The captain went down first to pay the dues for docking at the city, along with the usual papers for his goods.

"Couple of passengers," he reported, gesturing to Janella, Selora and Lucius."

The harbour master beckoned them over, while a couple of habour guards went on board the ship to check for stowaways or illegal goods. Or as illegal as it would get in Minrathous. Which was to say... not very.

Turning to the elves, and Lucius, the man did not pick up that Lucius was carrying Selora's belongings.

"Right sir, I'll need to see your papers and those of your elves," he said simply.
