The RP Point System allows us to reward our community for not only using the dream but actively helping to drive the story along! A community can only grow if it's members are interested in helping it to do so. The Point System is not a challenge or a competition; no one should feel as though they are expected to earn points, they're simply an added bonus for doing what we all love; roleplaying with each other!
The RP Points System is subject to change as for now we're working on finding the best balance.
How do I earn points?
By participating in opens and events! If you host an open or an event, you are in charge of posting the logs so that all participants can earn their points. If you simply attended, just wait for the person to post the logs! If you notice they haven't feel free to nudge them about it but please be polite; we all get busy.
Can I earn points from discord or rpr roleplay?
Because Caribou Coast is based on Furcadia, at this time we only offer points for roleplay that takes place within the dream on the client. We do not at this time intend to change this, as for the most part the community is active on furcadia.
How do I check my points?
Feel free to message any moderator or staff member and they can give you a total! Please remember that sometimes you may have an anon character and the points may be listed spread out if we aren't sure who the anon belongs to. We specifically do this so as not to out anyone who doesn't wish for their identity to be known, but you can always whisper one of the Owners if you want your points counted on your main for the anons, and the staff members won't be any the wiser to who you really are.
When are points counted?
Points will be counted on the 15th and 30th of each month! You can always ask for a current total of your points, but remember that before those days your points have not been added leading up to then!
Points Breakdown:
Hosting an open earns you 2 points per open roleplay that they post 4 or more times with 3 or more players. Attending an open gets you 1 point per roleplay, with the same post and attendance requirements. Points per roleplay are awarded per player, so attending with multiple alts does not earn you double points. Please do not use anonymous alts to cheat this system.
Event hosts earn 3 points, and during events participants can earn an extra point by interacting with more than 2 other people (not characters) in the roleplay!
If you respond to a seeking thread and actively start a roleplay based on it, you may post the logs and recieve one point each. Include a link to the seeking thread in your log post.
Your first ever open roleplay within the community will also earn you 1 newcomer bonus point.
Open/Event Rules:
The Points Shop is currently CLOSED as we rework it. Please check back soon!

Open/Event Rules:
1. Timely Log Posting: We go through the logs, read over, and give points accordingly! Because this is incredibly time consuming we ask that you make sure your logs are posted within a few days of your event/open. If you do not post your logs a first time, we will contact you to ask you to get them up. If you continuously do not post logs, you will receive a temporary ban from hosting events/opens. This is by no means meant to be mean, we just want to make sure everyone is fairly receiving their points!
2. Active Involvement: When you agree to host an open/event, you do so understanding that you are theoretically supposed to lead the scene. While it’s good to do a scene that allows others to lead as well, it is your responsibility first and foremost to make sure it keeps moving. While we understand that things come up, please plan to try to be active at your events especially for the entire duration of the event time. Try to avoid making opens, as well, if you do not have a lot of time to hang around to complete. If you’ve got a one hour window, that’s probably not enough time.
3. Be Inviting: Open roleplays and events are meant to be for the community. If you’re hosting an open, it is best to do so with a character who would actively try to communicate with the people showing up. Interacting with characters counts towards whether or not you get points, and if we notice that your character is ignoring everyone else in the scene and it seems as if you’re just making your minimum posts without trying to interact or be a real part of the scene, you forfeit your points. This applies to both hosts and participants. Do not show up to an open/event simply to make your minimum and leave. It’s not fair to the people trying to drive the story forward.
4. Opens Are For Everyone: This is semi in-line with rule 3, but. Try not to make your open/event something in which others cannot participate. Sometimes, people will do opens on their characters with a friend and make it something in which others can’t comfortably join (ie, a date, in which their character has no real way to interact/jump in) in the hopes that they can get points out of it. Remember that opens are meant to be OPEN scenes that you WANT others to join in on. Please don't take advantage of our kindness in making sure these rewards exist by simply using the system.
5. Active Communication: Your character must actively try to communicate with everyone involved in an open of up to 5 participants. Beyond that, we understand if you miss trying to talk to someone. For events, you are required to interact with at least 3 other participants. Interactions may include inviting them to a conversation, greeting them in a way that allows for them to respond, or even performing an action that they need to respond to. Interactions that don't allow for players to really respond (ie; he looked at him before moving away) will not count towards active communication.
