Logs:
(19:09:14) Azel. The best thing about the North Woods, in Azel's honest to God opinion, was the fact that it was secluded, quiet and left enough time for someone to have all the privacy and time to think to yourself in the world...the Prichard brothers hadn't lived in Caribou Coast long enough to make very much of a name for themselves beyond that cabin in the North woods. You could catch them at early morning sermons, in down getting supplies for the farm they were building on the property -especially recently, getting ready for this egg hunt, or what have you...but recently? Recently the cabin was open to the public, the face of the taller of the two, redheaded Colt was plastered around town inviting people to their cabin for an Easter celebration - - and celebration there would be! Just...not with Colt, not yet. Azel was the only brother that was left, loose, worn red plaid button up on while workin' boots bounced on the porch, waiting for people to arrive.
(19:09:20) Azel. The eggs were hidden around the farm - - well enough that an adult would find it easy to find the little pastel plastic things, but easy enough that it wasn't impossible. The doors to the house seemed to be locked, but everywhere else, including the barn, had colorful little banners to signify that the entire Prichard property was open season for the event.
(19:13:38) The Plant Witch had been keeping track of more people moving to the North Woods for some time now. The North Woods was where he had decided to make his own new homestead here on the coast, and the witch hadn't made much of an effort to really... meet anyone. Now it seemed some of the community was coming to him rather than him having to venture outward. He checked his calendar, realizing there was some sort of... Easter.. thing? At the new growing farm nearby. He was Korean, so he really had no idea what was going on. As he left his house that evening, the building fading back into invisiblity as he stepped off the property, he had his phone out and was googling Easter. What he got was a mixture of religious overtones and.. chocolate rabbits. Eggs? Did the chocolate rabbits lay the eggs? And why was this diety supposedly involved? Chang was so confused. >
(19:13:41) The Plant Witch: < The witch dressed himself in something casual: Boots, slacks, a sweater, all in black. A wide brimmed hat sat atop his head, and his thin wireframe glasses perched atop his nose. He kept googling as he wandered slowly towards the Prichard property, looking to the man waiting on the porch. Chang held back, waiting to see what everyone else did before he made a fool of himself.
(19:22:55) Alanala had decided to go and check out the other egg hunt that seemed to be going on that week. She had hosted an egg hunt the last week, with an easter rabbit... It'd be interesting to see someone else's. Her hair done up in loose curls, a nice sunday dress on, with white gloves, and a little handbag as opposed to her usual artist satchel. She would walk, like usual to the event, and since it was an open egg hunt, she decided to bring Winston, who was wearing a nice proper black bow-tie collar, looking very dapper and happy to be there. Those pale blue eyes peered around as she arrived at the farm, curious about the hosts, and the farm itself... Were they the ones who had provided the reindeers for the reindeer race not that long ago? Smiling gently she would make her way around, until she'd find the most gracious host, and approach him. "Hello there, this is a nice event you have."[Azel]
(19:23:39) Lauriana had indeed seen and heard the two brothers inviting people to the Easter celebration. Having a bad week? Sort of, so why not join in something potentially fun. Wearing a white button-down long sleeve, form fit jeans, and her usual sneakers, this one didn't seem to be overly dressed for the occasion. Or at least hopefully not. Working her way up through the paths on her bike, and stopping far enough away from the home. Where is your helmet girl?! Losing things sometimes had this effect. She recognized the place, knew just where to find it too oddly enough. Pushing down on the gear shift, then half a click up to neutral. Her hair was up in a messy bun, easier to ride this way with such length on those strands of onyx. Looking around at the few people that had already shown up, before kicking down the stand on the side of the bike and shutting off the engine. Keys pulled and tucked into her pocket, before hopping off to take in the sights. [c]
(19:24:09) Lauriana Seeing as there was someone awaiting visitors at the porch, she'd make her way up to the Azel. "Am I on time for the festivities?" A slight smile, yet she wouldn't set foot on the stairs. Keeping distance? Yes. Perhaps those perceptive enough might pick up on that. A nod was giving in greeting to anyone else close by. Including a friendly smile to Alanala. [e]
(19:25:18) Sangki had read the flyer and despite knowing little to nothing about the holiday itself, had shown up regardless. He was fascinated by the idea of gathering eggs for any reason. Of course, he also thought that they were real eggs.. so there was that. He didn't exactly look like he fit in with the crowd.. maybe those jeans did but the hooded poncho he was wearing, complete with long ears woven into the hood.. didn't really. Maybe he was pretending to be the easter bunny without intending to. Sang shoved his hands in his pockets and wandered closer when he saw that other people were beginning to congregate and he offered some sort of wave as a way of saying 'i'm here for the eggs'. For a moment, his attention was tugged by the appearance of a bike and his fingers twitched inside of his pockets. No, Sang, you can't just touch things that aren't yours.
(19:38:37) Wolfric was a little old for egg hunts, maybe, but he hadn't gotten to do them a whole lot growing up either. Really depended on where he was spending his easter, what sort of family he was with. Maybe for a minute he could let himself be absolutely ridiculous and pretend he was a.. well actually he was a dumb teenager. He might look like he was in his mid to late twenties, but it was because he was Massive like his dads. He was currently towering over Lily, since he wasn't going to go look like an idiot all by himself. Admittedly he expected to see a bunch of kids here; he was pleased that he wasn't the only one who felt like it was okay to be a wild child for a little bit. "Well. Uh. Guess this is it," he offered to Lily, looking around at the assembled faces and offering a wave to anyone who might catch his eyes.
(19:49:43) Vinsent. You know who else lived out in the woods? The Uhane; though they were more in between than specifically the North Woods; but that didn't stop this particular wolf from coming up on the cabin. As a white wolf mind you; because being a human was too much a pain in the ass (And he didn't feel like being naked alright?). He could probably pass as just an oversized do though right? He was curious about this whole thing though...easter egg hunting...wasn't that for kids? Was everyone here just a kid at heart? Maybe he could use this as a learning opportunity. To learn what? Who even really knew. What was important was the fact that he was running full tilt up the path and not paying any attention to where he was going. Which meant he barrelled straight into Chang; possibly knocking him over before he realized what had happened. A bit of a barking sound escaped from him as he shook head, staring blankly at the man as if to see if he was alright. Strange dog this one.
(19:53:05) The Plant Witch kept his place off to the side of the porch as he observed the growing group of egg hunters. His google search had given him a variety of information, but he assumed he would understand once watching things get started. As he moved to slip his phone back into his pant's pocket, he felt it bump into something. Chang glanced down, seeing that one of his little enchanted mushroom had slipped in there. He frowned at the little red-capped fiend, figuring it must have jumped onto his pantleg before he left the house. He switched his phone to his other hand and put it in his empty pocket, then gently shoved the little fungus creature back down into his pocket to keep him from view. No need to let anyone see him. Just as he considered turning and heading out, wanting to get his little friend home, he found his legs knocked out from under him. >
(19:53:09) The Plant Witch: < The tall asian went slamming flat on his back, knocking the wind out of him, his hat tumbling off his head. He laid there briefly, resting a hand on his chest to catch his breath. See, this is why he didn't leave his house.
(19:56:04) Azel. If someone was watching Azel closely, they'd see a sort of reluctance wash over his face as he pulled out his phone and read a vibrating message on it: Colt wasn't making it. His head dipped as his thumbs tapped back a short reply, dark, greasy hair hanging in his face he glanced up to the people approaching. Chang holding back was fine for that beat, though he would wipe away the relictance on his face - letting it slip to the back of his mind, still present but not focused on - and instead replaced with with a warm enough expression. This was about making a good name for themselves. The Prichard's were a humble family from even humbler roots - - the Egg Hunt wasn't anything extravagant but...if there was anything that Southern Charm stood for, it was that you didn't need "extravagant" to have fun. That's what this was about too, right? Azel could do that just fine.
(19:56:09) Azel. "Hey there," There was a thick Mississippi twang that he couldn't shake in his voice, dense as honey with a raspy, soft voice to match. There was...something off about him, though he didn't give off anything that could be registered as aggressive or abrasive. On the contrary, the way Azel quickly stepped down the old wooden stairs of the porch, bending at last second to grab a stack of colorful, baskets, soft green, fresh hay in the bottom of them - - easier to recycle. He'd approach Ally first with a snake-like smile on his face, warm enough as he picked a basket gently off of the top of the stack and handed it to her. He paused in his action to pause, crouching down with a gentle hand outstretched for the dog she had with her. "Who's this little guy?" he asked her curiously, the smile on his face evident that Winston was welcomed company. "Thanks. I think we got some puppy treats around here somewhere...remind me later." he said to Ally with a grin.
(19:56:46) Azel. It wasn't until everyone else made their presence known that Azel stood up, whether the puppy let him pet him or not. Azel's eyes landed on Lauriana and lingered there easily enough, stepping forward and pulling a basket out for her while he did it, though he didn't get too close - - but that didn't mean he didn't appear any less warm. "Oh you're just fine," he said on her attendance time, basket hanging from the tip of a calloused finger before he made more rounds around the group - - Sangki, Wolfric and co...and Chang was GOING to be next, except Vinsent made a surprised appearance. Azel stopped short and jogged over after giving everyone their baskets, brown, stringy hair tilting in confusion as he whistled at the...dog. Yeah, dog. Azel stared at the white canine for a beat before leaning and reaching a hand out to Chang. "You ok?" he asked, waiting for an answer before he would inhale and look at the group. "Well, hey y'all. You can call me Azel, this is my farm - - we're
(19:57:49) Azel. gonna start the egg hunt here soon, hopefully no dogs gon' knock anyone else over..." He snapped his fingers at Vinsent, bending over slightly and reaching out a hand to see if he was friendly, "Where'd you come from?" he asked him like he could reply. d
(20:02:13) Lilyian was shadowing Wolfric, though for every one step he took she seemed to be taking two. Trailing behind him was her doberman puppy Sherlock since Watson was left to guard Jack. He needed the company anyway and figured dog and man could bond. That made her a good friend right? Loaning out her dog. She was dressed in a simple floral dress with black leggings and flat shoes. She never knew what to wear for egg hunting but remembered such occassions were spent in dresses. She smiled up at Wolfric as she bumped into him gently; gangly puppy opting to bounce around the two before running off to greet the other canines in true lanky puppy fashion (tripping over himself with eager butt wiggles.) "Here we are...how many eggs d'you think we will find?" she whispered up to him, taking in the faces and only spotting one who was familiar; a shy wave offered to Lauri if she looked her way. Hazel blues focusing on Azel for a time, "This should be fun." She whispered up to her friend.
(20:02:47) Alanala smiled gently to Azel when he approached her with the basket, watching him as he knelt down to greet Winston. "His name is Winston, he's ten years old." Puppy years were over, but he was still her precious baby. When Lauriana came over, Ally would give a nod to her curiously. "Hi, good evening." A polite greeting to the woman before she would make her way over towards the other people, with her newly acquired basket, when she saw the new dog come into the area. She stooped over to scoop Winston into her arms, a bit nervous about the other dog... She didn't want Winston getting attacked, he meant a lot to her... She had seen him bowl over Chang and she would go walking on over to him. "You alright? Not hurt?" Trying to be polite and friendly, make sure the man was okay. Then Azel was speaking to the group and she would give him her attention, still holding Winston in her arms to make sure he'd be okay, for the time being anyways.[Azel, Lauriana, Chang]
(20:08:55) Lauriana looked around as more people were showing up, a crowd forming. To which she would try to make her way off to the side. A bit closer to the side of those steps. Little worried there? Just trying not to overstep or cross lines. She'd just caught that reluctant look on Azel's face, curious about it. Would she say a word about that? Likely not. A warm look now? Hmm. Must have been some bad news. Side stepping out of the way when Azel picked up those baskets. No need for her to crowd the bottom of the steps. Taking the basket with a polite smile, "Appreciated." Odd way of saying thank you. Finally recognizing someone, but it was making her heartrate jump. Lily? Looking around for a minute, then back to the girl who was waving shyly. Waving back, with a worried look on her face. Her eyes locked onto the sudden motions happening between Chang and this white wolf, holding onto that basket as her eyebrows raised. Would he be alright? Wolf.. Uhhh. [c]
(20:10:01) Lauriana Looking between Azel and Vinsent when she heard those fingers snapped. She had been paying attention, but was now curious about the interactions. [e]
(20:13:11) Lauriana's smile came back, looking to Alanala with her words, "A wonderful evening." Looking around as more people were showing up*
(20:13:24) Wolfric offered Lily a casual roll of his shoulders; he had no idea what sort of egg-hunter he'd make, though his time traveling with Yosif and Baldr to the coast had definitely helped hone a few skills. "I guess we'll just have to see," he said with a grin, just as the dog came bounding in and knocking someone over. Aw shit, he loved dogs but also that was definitely a Bad Boy over there. He joined the cluster around Chang, reaching his hand out just as Azel did and deciding screw it, he might need two to get up anyways. Disoriented, probably. "I wonder if he knows how to find eggs. Maybe he wants to be on your team," he suggested, wiggling his eyebrows. Well, no one could say it wasn't off to a fun start.
(20:17:36) Vinsent was totally a dog! Yes...just keep thinking that. Azel's whistle had him lifting head; tongue lolling out in a completely absurd manner as he tilted his head. A few steps were taken away from Chang to allow Azel to help him up; though not before he ran tongue over the man's face in a sort of apology. He totally had this acting like a dog thing down! Once Chang was back up on his feet the dog was flicking icy blue gaze around. The other dogs were noticed but since he wasn't actually a dog he really didn't care about them. Besides, he was not about to sniff any dog butts...nope that was getting way too deep into the dog mentality thank you! Instead he came up to Azel's offered hand and immediately bumped his large head into it...repeatedly. The message was clear; give me pets damnit! As for the answer to Azels' question..well he was a dog right? He just sort of stared, barked a few times and sat down on haunches. >>
(20:17:52) Vinsent He wasn't about to go finding any of these plastic eggs; let the adults have their fun. In the mean time he was going to hope that Azel...or anyone else really; decided he was something to be pet. As for teams...he didn't really care for any of that...but he might just point people in the right direction if they start looking exceptionally lost. <<
(20:19:23) The Plant Witch let out a quiet cough, looking up at the hand -- or rather hands, extended down to him, taking them both after a moment along with the basket that was apparently now his for the hunt. "Seem to be," he replied to Azel, voice soft and a little muted as he hooked the basket on one elbow and began to dust himself on. Chang shook his head at Alanala's inquiry, but it did make him panick briefly, sticking his hand gently into the pocket where his little mushroom hid. The fungus seemed unharmed, just a little startled by the sudden movement. he gave Wolfric a side-eye glance at the comment, letting out a soft sigh as he reached down and scooped up his hat. "Well, he's not made a very good first impression," he said slowly, giving Vinsent the stinkeye as he promptly placed his hat back atop his head, then removed his glasses to wipe them off after the subsequent face lick. He was definitely more of a cat person.
(20:22:21) Sangki happily grabbed up a basket, gaze darting about at the people gathered here. He saw several other people with their own baskets and figured them to be the competition which meant he was going to be obnoxiously friendly if any of them crossed his path. Of course, Vinsent was given a look.. Sang wasn't sure how he felt about dogs, but he knew this wasn't one. Dragon exhaled sharply at the smell of wolf.. was no one else going to pick up on that? Gaze went over to Azel, his basket held up in question, "We can go now?" His English was a little rougher than he liked, considering he spent all his time with a gang that spoke Korean first, but he'd been getting better at mingling. Gaze went back to the bike, again, and he blinked over at Lauriana, taking a few steps to get closer. "I can see that later maybe?" Brows arched in question, curious look on his face.
(20:26:36) Lilyian would regard Vinsent curiously as she joined the crowd in spying Chang. She chewed on her cheek before she moved to grab two baskets, offering one to Wolfric with an easy smile. "Here you go. Might this for when you find eggs." She didn't think the eggs would fit in his pockets. Glancing every once and a while toward Lauri though she would finally gently tug Wolfric by the arm to at least introduce her friend to one of the few friends she had on the island. "Wolfric this is Lauri...Lauri this is Wolfric." Freckled cheeks were flushed it would seem as she awkwardly gripped the handle of her basket. Squinting up toward the sky before she glanced toward Azel and then down toward the puppy who had opted to roll around in the grass away from the group.
(20:36:05) Lauriana was just content where she was. Watching this 'dog', and Chang being hauled to his feet. At least he was alright after that tumble. No worries, Sang. He wasn't the only one picking up on the obvious wolf in the room. Eyes locking onto Sang as he stepped closer. See.. what? OH! "The Mongrel? Of course." A weary smile. "Perhaps a ride is in order?" On the bike? She was offering a ride? Damn. Lauri must have been in a slightly better mood, at least. Holding out a hand to Sang, "Lauri." As a way of greeting. If it was taken in a shake, wonderful. She was then looking over to Lily as she approached. Eyes locking onto Wolfric's with that introduction. Fierce stare? No. This was just how she greeted people. "A pleasure, Wolfric." Greetings all around, it seemed? She was in need of making acquaintances either way. Not knowing too many people in the area, even if she'd scoured the place at least a dozen times now.
(20:44:05) Azel. "This dog ain't nothin'." Angel said to no one in particular, voice soft and raspy, mostly in Ally, Lily and Chang's directions. He took the licking and the sitting as a sign that Vinsent wasn't any more aggressive that that little white Maltese Ally had in her arms. Hands were rough, though not painful, while he reached out to pet the wolf a few times, wondering to himself if it was some sort of dog mix and...well, frankly, he was making a mental note to check the farm's fencing to make sure it couldn't come back. They had livestock, he didn't want to make the dog develop a habit of showing up - - not in this form at least. Azel turned back to the ground nad carried on with what he was saying, stepping back toward the front of his porch where he lifted himself onto the railing, boots kicking while he played with a piece of grass between his fingers. Brown eyes looked down at the group, c
(20:45:26) Azel. "My brother was supposed to be the one here showing you guys the ropes but I guess he's out...so you got me." He didn't really lead to if that was a good or bad thing, just left it open to being interpreted however you wanted while he added after Sangki, "Yeah, you guys can start findin' the eggs...I don't really know how to start this kind stuff." Humble in his tone near the end he would let the sentence fall short with a quiet huff of a laugh, the warmth not really meeting his eyes while he jerked his head toward the side of the house. "Everywhere's got eggs 'cept near the house, y'all go wild." He'd wait for people to go off finding eggs to ease off of the railing and make his way over towards Lily's puppy. There was a moment where he just stared at the animal before crouching down and swiping his hand over the fur a few times, lightly petting it - if it let him - before looking over his shoulder at the people hunting for eggs. d
(20:57:57) Sangki gave a wide grin at the very idea of getting a ride on the bike and he bobbed his head at Lauri, all too excited about the idea. "Maybe after eggs." That was, after all, his main goal here and even a new thing that was exciting couldn't distract him from it. Once they were pretty much allowed to wander about and get the eggs, he realized he didn't really know what he was looking for. What Sang considers a true 'egg' and what the holiday did were two very different things. But as he wandered away from the main group, he saw a little blob of color and headed towards it, scooping up his first egg. Small chirp of confusion as his thumb ran over the seam a few times. It smelled like candy too, which just led him to wonder what strange animal it came out of. Instead of opening it up and realizing it had things to eat inside, he simply placed it in the basket and kept walking.
(20:58:26) Wolfric wasn't afraid of a fierce stare, don't worry. He often made himself look smaller, kept his eyes soft, because he knew that his size could be an issue. Sometimes it made people nervous, other times it made them want to fight. Lauri didn't seem to be either of those people, so he was happy to meet her. "Same to you," he assured her, taking the basket from Lily as it was offered. "Good luck." Was he totally going to do his best to steal all the eggs out from under everyone? It was a contest wasn't it? Honestly, though.. he just wanted to find one and maybe eat a tiny chocolate bunny if they had them. Eyes turned up to Azel as he laid it out- or, sort of laid it out. Luckily, Wolf had the concept down. find the eggs, put 'em in the basket. "You know.. it's probably cheating if we work together," he teased Lily, heading off and shouldering her gently as he passed. She would proabbly be the one laughing at him a few minutes later when, after a triumphant Aha! he reached down, turned (c)
(20:58:51) Wolfric. his head to call out and.. found there was no egg where one had just been. What? He was looking at Vinsent. Clearly the dog had stole it? Even if he was.. still sitting. Weird! (d)
(20:59:52) Alanala finally decided it was safe to put down Winston, listening to Azel as he introduced what exactly they were doing she would nod her head gently... Reminded her a lot of her own egg hunt to be honest... She would reach down to unclip Winston's leash, rolling it up to tuck into her handbag. He wouldn't go far, and he wouldn't leave the area... And he opted to go and introduce himself to Lily's puppy, while his mother made her way off to search for eggs... Searching curiously and quietly, she spotted an egg and leaned down to try and grab it, only for it to disappear from her gaze. A confused look on her face she stood back up and stared at the blank spot on the ground where the egg had just been... Looking around she would look to Azel and... Approach him. "So, an egg hunt huh? I threw one myself last week... Interesting um... Eggs you got here."[Azel]
(21:02:42) Vinsent looked to Sangki and flared nostrils; barking lowly as if to say 'Hey..don't be giving away my secrets man!'. Maybe he'd help the dragon find some eggs in exchange for keeping secrets? As for Chang and the stinkeye; the 'dog' actually wilted a little. He was sorry alright? He just couldn't say it and apparently the face lick had not done the trick either. Making bad first impressions seemed to be his theme though so he just silently accepted the judgement, he probably deserved it. As soon as Azel started petting him he was all for it; that tail swishing back and forth along the ground until the man had decided to get the event started. Alright; time to hunt some eggs! Only; he wasn't actually going to, at least that had been the plan. But when everyone else started going for eggs he suddenly felt the urge to find one. Maybe he'd take it to Domitus as a peace offering...what could go wrong with that? >>
(21:02:58) Vinsent Standing he padded through the area; watching with amusement as Wolfric found ...and lost an egg! And than..blamed him. Hey! For once he was innocent. But just to make up for it he would find an egg of his own and pick it up gently between teeth before making his way to Wolfric and pointedly dropping it in his basket. There; enjoy the fingernails! <<
(21:04:29) The Plant Witch stepped away once the others had stopped inquiring about his well being, hearing Azel give the go ahead to start looking. As he wandered the yard, he casually watched the other individuals, realizing after a moment that there was nothing too special or grand he had to do during this little event. It was literally just find eggs. And after spying Sang dropping a colorful one in his basket, he realized he should keep his eyes open for bright colors. That didn't seem so hard. Chang actually ended up kicking his first one, glancing down to see the small plastic egg settle in the grass. Squatting down, he plucked the purple egg from the ground and popped it open, frowning at the absence of anything inside. Dropping it into his basket, he moved on to try and find the next one.
(21:07:11) Lilyian was relieved they seemed to hit it off okay, she was still sort of standing there waiting to see how things went. Eitherway she would offer a brighter smile to Wolfric at his light teasing, watching him begin his search. She would glance toward where her puppy had went, squinting for a moment before she went on her own merry way to find an egg. Though just as she was about to pick it up it vanished. She glanced toward her friend and wondered if he had experienced the same thing. Sherlock on the other hand was absorbed in the attention, a rather large paw would swipe at Azel's wrist; attempting to mouth gently though opted to clean it. Moving to stand as unknown dog approached, high pitched barks made as he bounced back and forth; frightening, really. Lilly's attention was quick to zero in on the puppy though his bouncing would eventually turn to terrible attempts at playing.
(21:07:48) Lauriana nodded to Sang, "Yes, after eggs." A little of a chuckle at that. To Wolfric, she raised a brow. He threw off a competitive feel. Interesting. Might as well make it a competition, right? Her attention was grasped by Azel's movements. His words on his brother not being able to make it. Hmmm, must have been the reluctant look from earlier. Either way, it was still a festive event. Don't let it get you down, man. That bit of just starting though, a querk of her lips in a slight smile. Alright, that reminded her of someone close. Not really into these types of parties there, Azel? At Wolfric's good luck, she would straighten her back, going into the fray of finding eggs. "To you as well." A sly grin. Whoa whoa. Lauri, you were suppose to be having fun? It was fun in competition, right? To Lily, however, she would try to grab the girls attention, whispering a, "I need to talk to you later." At her. Avoiding rushing into Vinsent's path on her way back to the hiding spots. [c]
(21:08:13) Lauriana The first she spotted? Picking it up and twisting it around between her fingers. A piece of candy popping out from between it. Mmm. She'd save it, for a certain baby vamp. He liked sweets better. [e]
(21:31:41) Wolfric grinned at the dog because.. well. Whoops. He'd been caught. "You're a funny one aren't you," he asked as an egg was dropped into his basket. "I can't count that one though, that'd be cheating." He reached out to ruffle the dogs ears, before wandering off to look more. He hadn't expected such a crowd, not that he minded. He nearly tripped when he noticed an egg under his foot a few moments later; and thank God he hadn't stepped on it because holy shit, it was.. making noises. He lifted it up, surprised at the weight and the cheeping. He popped it open and found a little baby chick inside, brow knitting together. "Uh...." Okay? This was weird. "I'm not crazy that's not a normal prize right?" he asked to anyone in the vicinity paying attention. "Am I supposed to keep this?" he called to Azel. Did he have a pet chicken now?
(21:35:51) The Plant Witch was starting to really consider heading home. First his little enchanted fungus had snuck onto his person, then he had been knocked down and licked by a wolf. Yes, a wolf. He knew the difference. Now he was 0 for 2 as far as eggs. Both had been empty, and as he tossed the second empty one in his basket, he passed Wolfric who had.. "Looks like it hatched," he said in a deadpan sort of way. "I don't really understand the concept of this holiday. Aren't life fowl supposed to be part of this?" he asked curiously, stepping closer to lightly pat the little chick's head. "And something about rabbits?"
(21:36:06) Lilyian was moving about and looking at the ground a touch dismayed at the fact she found nothing. Oh well, she would invade Wolfric's zone in time for her to spy him finding an egg with a chick in it. "Cute." She mused though her attention turned to Vinsent. "Hello handsome, are you being helpful?" she asked curiously, offering out her hand for him to inspect; never pet a strange canine right? She would eventually drift closer to Wolfric either way and attempt to pet the little bird. "You should keep him. I...could help you look after him." She offered, because little chicks made the best pets, right? Sure.
(21:38:51) Sangki felt like he was doing good finding one egg, though he was shooting looks at everyone finding the disappearing eggs. How did that even work? His gaze went over to Wolfric because he heard cheeping and saw.. a whole chick? His brow furrowed as he found a bright pink egg nestled in the grass and when he picked it up, he also heard a cheeping coming from inside. A little alarmed, the dragon pried it open to see little beady eyes staring up at him. Little plastic casing was dropped in the basket as he held the little chick, not about to ask about giving it back. This is his now. Chick was pet a few times before gently being placed in the basket and he headed back in the direction of the crowd. "I have one too." He held up the basket with a grin, looking to Wolfric and Lily as he said this before he spotted another egg in the distance. The hunt continues.
(21:40:28) Lauriana On to the next egg! Searching high and low for any sign of color other than the grass and surrounding plant life. Trying to move quick there? Possibly. Sliding up to the next egg and snagging it off the ground. Giving it a shake while her eyes searched for more. Huh.. This one sounded odd. Opening it up to find.. Fingernails? This threw her into a laugh. Interesting choice of 'prize' there. But she did know of only one person that had use of these. Might be able to track down their owner, really. Slipping that into her basket, after slipping the plastic egg back together. Silver eyes narrowing as she scoured visuals, high and low, to find the next. You never knew where a crafty hider could have been able to reach. Perking her head up as Wolfric asked about the prize, and raising a brow at the peeping sounds. This had another trilling laughter coming out of her. "Looks like a great prize. Hope you take good care of it." Still laughing as she went back to scouring the area. [c]
(21:40:54) Lauriana At Chang's questions towards the festivity, "Something about the eggs being a symbol of new life or rebirth. The bunny, however.. I have no idea." Sang had gotten a baby chick too? Wonderous! [e]
(21:42:15) Prichard was usually not someone that would be late. If anything he would have been early. Of course, today of all days, the old pick up decided not to start. No matter what he tried it wasn't going to cooperate to take him off the mine operation to his house. He did eventually get there, in the front loader, which he just pulled into the drive way like that was normal. Colt was covered in dirt and oil from fussing with the truck. Running to the porch he flailed at Azel for a minute before getting words together. "My truck wouldn't start. What'd I miss?" Apparently baby chicks. Looking out at the crowd in his yard he squinted. "Where'd the chicks come from? We don't have a chicken.." Coming off the porch toward Sangki he peered at it. "You found that.. In an egg?" Colt then turned his squint back at Azel. Where had he gotten those chicks anyway?
(21:45:04) Azel. On the contrary...Azel wasn't that upset about his brother not being present - - perhaps it was the fact that Azel had to be the center of attention at all that made him seem rather reluctant at all...or it could be something else as well. There wasn't really any way to tell - - on the outside, Azel wasn't that easy to read, at least not if you weren't well acquainted with his habits...which, no one was. No ma'am, in the honest truth, Azel wasn't used to running these types of things, though that didn't mean he minded it too much - - he finished petting Lily'ss dog, having let him clean his hand again until he pet it once again before stepping over to the porch. He pulled out a tin cigarette case from his plaid shirt pocket, bent and rusted, though it wasn't a cigarette he pulled out, but a tooth pick. It hung out of his wolfish grin while Ally approached him, commenting on the eggs. "Yes ma'am." he said to her in response, looking out at everyone.
(21:45:09) Azel. The implication that the prizes were a little strange had his brow coming together, He would watch everyone for a beat, poking his nose over the edge of the porch while he leaned over the railing to get a better look. "Aw, Hell..." he laughed out, "I think my brother's pullin' a prank on us...sorry 'bout the weird prizes..." There was something about the way he said that that really made it easy to think that maybe he was a little not sorry, though he was looking back at Ally with a slow smile. "Did you?" he shifted in place, forearms on the railing while he gave her his undivided attention. His eyes were...unimpressive, dark brown and...a little dull, dead in the way that they looked through you, but the warmness of his tone - everything about his voice, really - was what kept people interested. At least, until Wolfric inquired about one of the chickens. Azel paused, scratching under his chin.
(21:46:28) Azel. "You know how to take care of it?" It'd be a waste to just let it die at the hands of someone incompetent. He looked between he and Lily before giving him a shrug, "If ya do, sure." They didn't need any more roosters anyways. And...oh yeah, there's Colt! Fucking finally! Azel looked at the redheaded boy approaching over his shoulder with a sort of...amusement. "Yeah we do." He said about the chickens - - which was new. He didn't elaborate, that tooth pick shifting in his lip while he jerked his head toward the eggs, passing a basket to Colt. "Why don't you go look?" d
(21:47:26) Vinsent honestly was probably pushing the limits here. He needed to get back home before anyone started actually wondering where he went. Not that too many people did these days; but maybe someone would notice he was out late? Mostly he was just getting tired, staying shifted took it out of a person yanno? Wolfric's comment to cheating earned an amused bark, head tilting as a literal chick appeared out of the next egg he found. What kind of weird easter egg hunt was this? Had he been doing it wrong this whole time? Was this why his relationship with his son fell apart...because of terrible Easter Egg hunts? Okay, don't be silly; he knew full well why that relationship had gone to shit and it wasn't because of a holiday. Oh; look there was someone distracting him from his thoughts! Lily's approach earned a quick tongue loll in a pant before he was running in a circle; nose to the ground and scooping up another nearby egg. >>
(21:47:34) Vinsent Which he than deposited into her hand...but not before breaking it. Which caused the slime inside to go all over her hand and...on his own tongue. Gross! Although..not that bad tasting? He really needed a drink of water now though; so off to the creek. He'd take a running start; weaving straight between Colt and Sangki and than down the path he had come before. What a weird dog. <<
(21:50:53) Wolfric glanced up as Chang joined him, and he wasn't sure if it was how seriously he said it or if what he'd said was actually funny, but he laughed. "I guess it did," he agreed. "I dunno, man. I don't know much about it either. Never lived in a religious house, but it's a Jesus thing. I just know theres supposed to be candy and colorful eggs." He'd gotten a basket one year from a classmate, that had been nice. He'd eaten so much peanut butter he'd gotten sick. With Lily's encouragement, and Lauri's laughter, he felt like he had to keep the thing now. Azel's question did make him consider. Did he know how to take care of it? He was gonna. "Yeah, this little baby's in good hands." He was going to try to make sure that wasn't a lie. "You're helping," he agreed with Lily, quirking a brow. They were in this together now. "And you," he offered to Sang, "Will have to arrange playdates since they're.. probably related somehow." This was a strange sort of family he was setting up, but oh well. (c)
(21:52:16) Wolfric. he'd never had a normal one anyways. He put the little chick into the basket, and watched as it tried to climb out. His hand shot out to grab it. Looked like he was not going to be egg hunting anymore. "Guess I'm on baby duty." Ah well, Lily could have his nail-egg, even if he didn't realize that was what was in it yet. For now he'd settle with the chick against the porch steps to wait for the fun to finish. He was going to have to hit the library to google about this. (d)
(21:55:59) Lauriana turned to look around at the crowd, attention grabbed by Colt's entrance. Ahh, from the way he spoke, it must be the one Azel was talking about earlier when he'd started the egg hunt off. Looking over to watch as Vinsent ran off into the woods. Was that goo on Lily's hand now? Reaching into her pocket to grab a fresh handkerchief that she'd figure she'd need for the bike repairs later. It was clean, no worries. Was she going to pick up another egg? Probably. But she'd walk over to hand this to Lily first, "Interesting prizes indeed. Here, to wipe it off." If Lily took the offered thing to wipe off that goo, great, if not, she seemed to have almost stepped on an egg. Plucking it up and placing it in her basket. Not even going to check? Probably not yet.
(21:58:13) The Plant Witch:'s brow furrowed. Candy? He looked back down into his basket, two eggs with nothing in them sitting in there. Lauriana's words caught his ear and he lifted his gaze to her face, tilting his head at the information. It sounded like the holiday was mixing different aspects from different cultures. Firtility and such, springtime. "Hm. Thank you," he said with a slight nod of his head to Lauri's words before he stepped away, determined to find an egg with something in it. What he ended up finding was one pink egg, then a blue one not a few steps away, and both... had baby chickens in them. Chang stood there with one small bird in each hand, staring at them in slight disbelief. All he had wanted was a piece of chocolate, and instead he had two little farm animals. The Korean looked up, looking a little lost. "I... don't know how to raise chickens. They'll eat my plants if I take them home."
(22:02:22) Sangki beamed at Wolfic, nodding his head, "They can be good friends." And he'd most likely hold the other to that because he was going to keep his baby, thank you. Another egg, this one suspiciously yellow was plucked up and now that he knew the eggs had things that weren't... exactly babies.. inside, he opened it to find.. Teeth? That one was set back down. First egg he'd scooped and placed in basket was picked up and opened and he found candy in it. Not much for sweets, he glanced around until he saw Chang, finding something familiar in the witch's features even if he didn't exactly know him. Dragon made his way over and offered the candy, bowing his head afterwards and crooning at his new baby chick. "We should show you to Ming. He will like you." He'd better, anyway.
(22:04:06) Lilyian would accept the offered rag and wiped her hand clean; smiling at Wolfric and thanked him kindly for the egg (oblivious to the nails in it) she would select and egg and wander over to Chang with her basket. "I will trade you this egg for those little chicks. I can raise them." They were really just collecting them like pokemon. She would glance toward Sangki and would introduce herself with a smile. "I'm Lillian, nice to meet you." Right she was a friendly thing, looking out for Lauri to see if she was successful in finding any eggs. But back to the candy exchange for birds.
(22:05:47) Prichard come back up to Azel, only to squint at him. "Since I went out? You got chickens? You know what. Okay. Thats fine." Colt took the basket, looked at the straw and made a face. "You hid some after I left, didn't ya?" Still he'd take his basket and go to the middle of the yard. Wolfric got a look, and his basket got one next. "I bet you anything those chicks are related some how." Poor Lily, Colt came in close to look at her hand with a low whistle. "What in the world is that?" Azel.. What had he done. Colt had jsut missed the part where Azel blamed him for this weirdness. Poor Chang, he came in to offer out his basket. "If you don't want em, I'll trade you a hand full of chocolate for em. Good trade, right? Also, it's about Jesus risin' again. Thats why eggs, because its symbolic of life or somethin. Don't ask me about the rabbit though, I don't get it either." Sangki got a smile as he came over and a polite nod. He even dipped the brim of his ball cap at him. "Good >>
(22:06:18) Prichard that you like the lil' Fella. Chickens are great pets, ya know? And always cute. Apparently theres more here so uhh.. Follow the cheaps I guess?" He smiled at Lily too, offering her the same greeting. "Hello, Lillian, I'm colt." And he offered the name between her and Sangki. "Glad to see you guys here! I wasn't sure anyone would actually show up."<<
(22:10:16) The Plant Witch turned his attention to the approaching Sang, returning the slight bow and watching him drop a piece of candy in his basket. Oh! "Thank you," he responded in Korean, looking to Colt and Lily as they both approached. He gently plopped one little chick in her basket and handed the other over to Colt, taking Lily's offered egg and popping it open, glad to find something normal like candy. "I would like that, thank you," he said to Colt, calming down a little now that the birds had been (literally) taken out of his hands. He picked up the piece of candy from his basket that Sangki had dropped in, unwrapping it and popping it in his mouth as he wandered towards the porch. On his way there to drop off his basket, he found one more egg. He almost wanted to pass it up, fearing it might have another bird in it, but as his luck would have it, it had nothing. >
(22:10:20) The Plant Witch: < Huffing out a slightly amused noise, he set his basket on the step, opening up another piece of candy and popping it in his mouth.
(22:15:01) Sangki was pulled away from his crooning at his chicken, who he was naming after a friend who would probably be flattered, to nod a greeting at both Lillian and Colt. "Nice to meet you. This is my chicken." He held up the basket and there were a few peeps from within, which he instantly answered by sticking his hand in and giving the little one some warmth. "I should go feed it. Do you sell it? Food?" He was looking to Colt for this one, considering this was a farm looking place and this had to be one of the people who owned it, right? His fascination with the egg hunt was over, considering he was now invested in raising a whole chick and it was taking more of his attention than he would've thought. It was good for the dragon to have something to focus on though.. hopefully he wouldn't drag it into the ocean with him.
(22:26:18) Lilyian was actually surprised that worked considering she didn't think he would go for it. She smiled brightly, "A pleasure to meet you all and thank you." She was trying her best not to squeal, "It is very nice of you to have us out here." She stated and would glance toward Wolfric while placing her chick in her basket. The kercheif she'd been given previously was gently folded over the side. She would excuse herself and move over to Wolfric, coaxing him up. She would whistle for her pup before glancing toward Lauri. "We will catch up soon. It's getting late and I should get him back and these little birds settled." Get Wolfric back where? Who knew but she was a little tired and after pleasantries were exchanged she would loop her arm within Wolfric's own some how and lead him back to her truck.
(22:27:35) Azel became acutely aware of the fact that Lily had goo on her hand at some point, snickering to himself as Vinsent promptly fucking left when he'd gotten it into his mouth - - which was fair, really. You didn't really want to eat the shit, even if it tasted sweet. "Rabbits are a symbol of fertility and life. Some believe the eggs present the boulder that was in front of Jesus's tomb, though in my humble opinion I think they're also a representation of new life and such." Azel spoke up and, to those that knew him, a familiar look in his eye was now there, staring at the back of Colt's head. He spoke like he fucking created the creed, now sitting on the railing, forearms balanced on his knees while his back rest against a railing. The chickens were passed around like hot potatoes, Azel's eyes would find Colt again and he would shrug. His gaze would look over to Lily trying to collect 'em all, "You raise chickens before?" he asked, eyes on her.
(22:28:43) Azel was curious, that's all. Either way, despite a lack of answer or if there was one, Azel would glance back to Colt, "Farmer's market." he said finally on where the chickens came from, though he didn't elaborate at all. Right now was when it seemed apparent that Azel preferred his brother to have the attention, comfortable being in the background and just...watching. His gaze landed on Lauriana now, following her form while he picked at another piece of tall grass - - they needed to fucking mow. d
(22:30:01) Lauriana looked over to Colt with a nod as he approached the group. It was indeed nice to be at another festive event, and of course people would show. There were flyers all over town for it. These prizes were damn near the most interesting in a long while, for herself at least. Not sure if anyone else agreed on that. Now that she was thinking about it, how would the chick stay safe on a bike ride? Hmm. That offer might have to slip by on a rain check. Unless the owner could tuck it somewhere safe. Either way, she was looking around for another egg. Chang was exchanging birds for candy, so there was always that if one was found throughout the area by herself. Possibly. Annnd, there it was. Even before she stood up, she could already hear the peeping inside the egg. Hmm.. To take it back to Greth, or hand it over. Nah, if Greth didn't want it, she'd keep it for a while. Knowing how to raise them, of course. Cracking the egg open with a warm smile. [c]
(22:30:19) Lauriana "Hello there." The chick in question was white, with a bit of black feathers sprouting from it. Quite fluffy with its young, tiny self. Pulling it out of the egg, to which she'd place that egg in her basket. Well, there was always riding home with it tucked somewhere safe.. With Azel's words, she was turning back towards them. Looking to Lily with a nod, "Stay safe, Lily." Another nod to Wolfric. [e]
(22:33:04) The Plant Witch found that everyone had begun to leave, watching the other egg hunters heading out. He waved at the few folks that were gathering their pups and heading to their cars, looking between Colt and Azel. They seemed to be the two that owned his farm, his new neighbors. He considered introducing himself, but then he would have to explain how he was and wasn't their neighbor. Yes, he was their neighbor in the sense taht his house was also in the North Woods, but no he wasn't in that his house only appeared physically to those in need of his services. So... it wasn't like he could invite them over for tea and they'd find his house. Sort of made house parties difficult. That and... his incredible amount of houseplants. And other.. things... Chang popped another piece of chocolate in his mouth, bowing to the two brothers and anyone >
(22:33:08) The Plant Witch: < else still present. "Well, thank you for this.. enlightening festival into Jesus and his egg-laying rabbits. Good evening."
(22:33:12) Prichard took the little chick easily and happily. "Good doin' business. I'll be.. Right back. Gonna go grab the left over candy." Because Azel had been left a bowl of it to fill the eggs. Apparently he hadn't used any of it though. Lily got another dip of his hat. "Ain't nothing, I'm just glad to see people havin' fun." Sangki held him in place for a minute longer. "No sorry, I ain't a farmer. Well not that kind. I do crops not animals. Ask Azel, he might have something for it!" Yup! He threw him right under the bus. He felt those eyes boring into him but didn't really give it much thought. He'd lived with that all his life. Jogging to the house he opened the door and made a horrified sound. "Azel!" He shouted at his brother, gesturing to the house. While he was turned a parade of full grown chickens strutted between his legs. The animals continued single file into the yard, then the woods. "I gotta go find those things later! Azel!! " Ignoring that for a minute he darted >>
(22:34:25) Prichard inside and came back with the bowl of candy and chocolate. He offered it to Chang first, then other people in the yard. "Farmers market, yeah sure. I believe you." He came back out towards Lauriana, offering out the bowl of candy. "Gonna keep it? I'll take it off your hands if you don't wanna keep it. It's mighty cute. Look at it." He gently patted it with a single finger. Chang was given a wave. "Thanks for comin'! Hope to see you again some time. Happy easter!" God he loved easter.<<
(22:43:43) Azel's eyes would linger on Lauriana for another moment before there seemed to be an idea forming in his head, though you'd only be able to tell if you were watching him. He'd disappear, turning and going through the front door of the cabin they owned - - which, when he opened the door, countless chickens seemed to flood out of their home for...whatever fucking reason. Azel had decided they were good in there, so that's where they'd been, despite the yelling he'd inevitably expected from Colt - - which wasn't really yelling. Colt didn't ever really yell at him, not in any real way, Azel...well, that wasn't their dynamic, to say the least. There was a few moments, a muttered, "Yeah I got it..." before Azel would return stringy, greasy dark hair in his face while those dull eyes danced between Sang and Lauriana. Sang would extended a Ziploc full of chicken feed, "Don't feed em beans or potatoes or candy. You can Google it." he explained. c
(22:44:55) Azel. Under his other arm...was a helmet. Like, a motorcycle helmet, though it wasn't by any means new. He leaned over the railing at Lauriana, letting it hang off with of his fingers while the toothpick in his mouth bounced with every raspy word, "You should stay safe too." d
(22:52:12) Sangki rocked on his heels as Colt spoke, nodding along with the fact that this farm was mostly crops. That was fair. It was also something to remember in case Sang ever found himself back this way, even though he rarely went far from Chinatown. His attention turned to Azel and the ziploc was taken, nod of his head given when he was given a list of things not to feed the chicken. Sounded like an easy enough thing to remember and he put the bag of feed in the basket with the chicken. "Thank you!" He gave a bow of the head at everyone he'd associated with, "Goodnight, must get the baby home." He gestured towards his new friend, cooing at him, "Come little one. Must meet the friends. Maybe you will get a sword too." That.. sounded like an awful, yet hilarious, idea.
(22:56:52) Lauriana watched with held back amusement as the chickens scattered from the house upon Colt opening the door. There was a bit of a chuckle as more came rushing out when Azel moved into the home. Looking at the chick for a bit. Not going to move it as Colt pat the little fluff of white and black. In all honesty, she wasn't quite sure. What with all of the events throughout the last week? Poor thing could end up shot, for all she knew. Presenting the little guy to Colt with a bit of a smile. "I do hope you'll take good care of it?" Tilting her head with the question. Directed at both Colt and Azel, as she was currently looking from one to the other and waiting for a response. Of course, noticing that helmet with Azel's words. A little of a wolfish smile creeping across her face. "In all honesty, I don't think it's possible for me to stay safe, but I do appreciate the gesture." Having to owe Azel? Luckily, he had no idea what she actually was. [c]
(22:57:06) Lauriana Her book of favors was extending within the last few weeks, and she wasn't about to add to it. It seemed like most of the visitors had left or were currently stating their goodbyes, and she had better return before anyone knew she was gone. Still holding that chick out though. [e]
(23:01:16) Prichard smiled at Azel as he brought out the feed and helmet. What a good boy. He'd yelled at Azel before and learned not to very quickly. The pair of them were greasy cabin living weirdos. Colt covered in dirt and oil from the mine, Azel jut forgetting what a shower was. You know, normal people stuff. "You ride here with no helmet?" He peered around Azel's shoulder at Lauriana. "He's right you know. Gotta be safe." Colt waved off Sangki. "g'night! I hope you had fun! Take care of the baby, It'll grow up big and strong, I just know it." Lauriana's Little chick was taken between his hands. "Of course, I wouldn't dream of doin anything but. It'll be in good hands, and you can come visit if you want. I'm sure I'll have more chicks soon to give out." He handed the chick to Azel with a firm glare. No hurting it. And looked toward where the rest of the chickens had gone. "But uhh. I thought I saw a big... Dog." Sure, we'd call a wolf a dog. "I should go find the rest of the >>
(23:01:38) Prichard mamas and papas before anything happens to em. Then build a house for em. Sorry to cut this short. I hope you had a good time miss!" He smiled at her, tipping his cap at her and starting off in the woods. Tiem for a chicken hunt.
(23:10:27) Azel. So, Lauriana was the last one, and Azel was looking down at her with his own wolfish smile - - but there was a different air about his own, one that held something that couldn't quite be placed. When she didn't take it, instead holding the chicken out, Azel cocked his head like he was trying to convince her otherwise. "Aw, come on now," he said in her direction again, looking her over while the helmet was still held out. "I ain't gonna feel right knowin' you left without one." he added the last bit as if it would actually convince her otherwise, following it up with, "You don't gotta give it back, I don't use it anyways." Come on, for him? Azel could look so sweet, head tilted to the side and his eyes big and narrowed, it was almost easy to forget that he was the one that put all of the unpleasant spoils in the eggs, not his brother - - but hey, that wasn't THAT obvious. c
(23:10:48) Azel. Colt was leavin' and, whether Lauriana took the helmet or not, Azel was gonna watch her go before dipping back into that dark cabin. The day was a success, at least.
(23:17:05) Lauriana"Thank you both, for the festivities." Fair and even thank you, for this good time and the prizes she was taking back with her. A little of a chuckle, as she looked up to Azel, raising the basket, "along with the fingernails and candy." Wait, where had her eggs went and everything else in her basket? Don't worry about it~, she was trying to give them back the basket, at least. Holding it out to Azel. Looking over to Colt at the mention of the dog, "That 'dog' took off a little while ago. Looked to be a little iffy about that goo it got from the one egg. However, I will try to visit again sometime. Hopefully to see how the chickens have grown." She did have to wonder just what that goo stuff was though. Hopefully nothing that might irritate Lily's skin. Azel was insisting on the helmet. A curious look before she took it from him. "Alright, but I will be returning it." Handing him the basket in trade. To Colt's farewell, "No worries, I should head out. Indeed, a good time." [c]
(23:17:23) Lauriana Moving towards her bike as she pulled out the keys from her pocket, putting on that helmet. Having to also take down her calve length hair, and retie it into a low side ponytail; looping it up into itself so it didn't get snagged on anything. Starting the bike up, and kicking back the parking stand before straddling it and moving to back it out in neutral. Shifting down into first before she pushed forward and took off. A bit fast there, don't you think? Well, people were going to be mad that she was out alone. Had to get back quick. [e exit]
[e exit]
