Emit: (16:46:26) [#] I could be wrong, but you're probably not supposed to be swimming in the fountains outside of the mall. He doesn't look drunk or high; the guy just looks like he's having fun, a little red in the face like maybe he just got too warm and the weather drove him to it. Bystanders might get splashed- or they're welcome to hop in alongside! `join Rus to see what he's up to.

(16:54:52) Rus didn't really know enough about societal norms to know that the 'fancy swimming pool' at the mall wasn't a swimming pool at all. Admittedly, he'd been on his way to the beach. He had the swim trunks on, a tank top to go with it, all the right gear to do this right way.. but he hadn't adjusted to the climate yet and halfway there he'd gotten a little sweaty. As a dragon? He could chill himself no problem. As a people, trying to blend in? It wasn't quite as possible, and so when he'd seen the fountains he hadn't even given it a second thought. He slipped right out of his sandals and stepped in, sinking down and groaning because it felt so nice to be so cool, even if the water was admittedly warmer than he expected. Right now, he was stuffing his head under the water and slinging it back up, hoping to cool down, but sending water flying.. everywhere. Whoops.
(17:01:51) Daria was merely following Celso on his trek to the mall. Apparently, there was a store with wire and crafts and things for his new project, so they needed to go. Daria wasn't necessarily dismissive of their reason for being out and about, but "easily distracted" was something of an understatement where he was concerned. So when they were forced to pass Rus in the fountain, it was no surprise at all that Daria perked immediately. Not only was this another dragon, but he was breaking one of those rules that Celso had talked to him about. Not all bodies of water were made for swimming. Excited eyes turned towards the witch as if to ask permission to join in on the fun as if he was saying 'look he's doing it, why can't I?' If there was a little excited click under his breath then that was neither here nor there, but Rus would definitely be able to hear it if his head was above water.
(17:03:10) Lykke was on her way to the mall to get herself some more sunscreen and tanning oil, because summer was coming up and she was bound to be going back to her lifeguarding job at the beach... What she hadn't intended on was seeing the man who was currently taking a swim in the fountain out front. Pausing mid-step as she stared at him, and then the fountain... At first she thought of how dirty it probably was, but next she was kicking herself over not doing that in the first place. So, with a grin she stripped down to her bikini, that she apparently wore everywhere under her clothes. Actually, she had been intending to go get a sun tan later, and she stepped on into the water, winking to Daria as he seemed to be watching Rus enjoying his swim in the fountain. Briefly she submerged herself under the water before she shook out her short brown hair with a chuckle. "Why have I never thought of doing this?" She chuckled.
(17:04:22) Will Hadote needed to do a little shopping, for once- mainly just in the medicinal department, but a few other things were needed, too. Heading towards the mall, he paused as he saw someone... legit chilling out in the fountain. Did he even say anything? A part of him didn't want to, but ehh. "I think there's a legit pool right down the street, man." Slick was dressed as per usual- darker jeans, a band tshirt -currently Chevelle- and some old black converse. No hoodie for him today; he was actually enjoying the fact that it was sunny outside, for once. And then someone else was coming up and talking about jumping in? "God, why is everyone here fucking crazy," he muttered lowly to himself; double that, for when Lykke got in, too. Legit pool- right down the street! Granted it cost a few bucks, but it beat a motherfucking fountain, in his opinion.
(17:06:28) Celso, of course, wouldn't immediately notice Rus in the fountain until Daria drew his attention to it. It wasn't that he wasn't paying attention, it was merely that his mind was on the task at hand which just so happened to be gathering the supplies and thinking about the things he would need to complete the defensive ward for Daryl and her familar-friend. He looked over to Daria when he heard that excited click and then to the fountain and then to Daria. He opened his mouth as if to say something... but then someone else was getting into the fountain. Well, now didn't that just make it harder to enforce the rules? Sighing, Celso nodded. "Okay, okay, we can break the rules today." His smile was gentle and he resigned himself to watching a bunch of people splashing around in the gross fountain water. "Just take your shirt and shorts off at least-- so you don't get everything wet." He was prepared to take whatever Daria chose to give him to hold because there'd be no holding his familiar
(17:06:31) Celso: back now.
(17:15:04) Rus would have been fine to have all his fun by himself, but as near always, it seemed like Rus was drawing a crowd. Experiencing life his way was apparently enough to spark interest. And who could blame onlookers from being curious; this was the sort of thing that usually stemmed off of something abnormal, right? Everything would have been fine if not for the appearance of another dragon. Rus' nose twitched, his eyes widened and locked onto Daria and the quietest rumble of clicks escaped him, excited and rapid, just before Lykke showed up on the scene. He cleared his throat, tried to ease his suddenly rapid heart beat. We're not supposed to click in public, Russel. Oh look, she's getting undressed and joining the party! He made sure to budge over a bit to let her step in near him, grinning wide. "It's the first time I did, so I think you're fine," he assured her. Will was met with an astonished look. There was a pool nearby? Hell he should have looked into that! "Thanks for the (c)
(17:15:14) Rus: info!" He was so damn genuine about it, too. This wasn't a sarcastic thank you. "You're not coming in then?" More room for him and the girl- and the DRAGON. His eyes zeroed in on Daria as he had his silent conversation with Celso, and his grin just grew as the fellow dragon was givien the a-okay to come play. Hang out. He's an adult right? Totally. He sure looks like one, even if he's not acting like it. By the way? He proved that point by flinging some water Lykke's way. "Great way to cool off," he encouraged. (d)
(17:17:07) Daria watched as more people approached - one with eagerness, the other with disgust - and was immediately torn from his excitement of finding another dragon to his core-deep need to protect Celso. So even when the witch was essentially giving him the go-ahead to break the rules, Daria seemed to actually think twice about it. Sure, doing something like this was on his Human Bucket List, but at the same time, he really didn't like the idea of leaving Celso exposed while he indulged. There would be other times to break the rules. Perhaps it would have been different if Will wasn't throwing around so many aggressive vibes. As it was, Daria was practically vibrating in his skin with excitement-- something about the fountain and having permission and another dragon all combining to create His Most Exciting Day. For now, though, he seemed content to stick close to Celso and ask, "Are you going to go too?"
(17:20:40) Lykke shrieked, shielding her face from the water being splashed her way, grinning brightly she just splashed back at him with a chuckle. At Slick's sudden turn up her eyes narrowed at him, the grin turning into a frown.. She had such a sour look on her face. "Come to ruin someone else's fun?" She would icily say to him before turning her head away to look back at Rus. "I'm Lykke, but you can just call me Luck, or Lucky." Introducing herself as she would try to pretend that Slick didn't exist. Looking to Daria as he suddenly didn't seem as interested in joining them she gave him a confused look, but would look to Celso and call out. "Come join us!" She would remark happily, turning to rest her elbows on the ledge, head in her hands. "We could move down to the pool down the street, I wouldn't mind spotting anyone some money if they need it." She loved swimming, and anyone who swam with her was quite okay in her book, barring any other issues...
(17:26:27) Will Hadote stared for a moment at Rus, maybe trying to gauge whether that 'thanks' was legit, or whether he was just being a sarcastic smartass. "Nah, I don't swim." Not that he -couldn't-; he just didn't for reasons of his own. His mood equally soured at Lykke's question to him; he knew for sure -she- was being a smartass. "Screw off. Are you still fucking pissed about that shit? Get fucking over it already." Yeah, like he wouldn't be pissy if he'd been in her shoes, but, y'know. And right, spotting people cash- she'd spot anyone the money except for him, he thought bitterly. Not like he'd accept it, anyway.
(17:27:35) Celso. While Daria thinking twice about getting to indulge in rule breaking was unusual, his deep desire to protect was as expected as anything else. He almost felt a little guilty that Daria was willing to give up a little fun in favor of sticking close. "I'll come sit on the side, how's that sound?" His tone was gentle and appeasing and he figured being nearby would allow Daria to feel like he could just relax and have fun. He wasn't comfortable with just stripping down in a mall and getting into the water but that didn't mean Daria had to give up a chance to have some positive interaction time. "Come on, let's head over there." Gentle guiding Daria, Celso was a smart witch in choosing a spot for himself to sit where he'd be at his relative safest and he even took off his shoes so he could stick his feet in to prove to Daria that it was okay to go ahead. He could easily figure out Why Daria was on edge, so he had picked a spot away from his familiar's trigger.
(17:48:03) Rus was getting Not Friendly vibes from Luck towards Will, but he wasn't bothered by that. And things were not getting any friendlier between the two either, whoops. Time to put on a little bit of his Extra Friendly Charm. "Heyyy it's a fancy pool party," he told them. "I'm Rus. Sorry you guys uh.." He gestured his hands awkwardly. "But c'mon it's a hot day! Angry stuff makes it hotter." Was that.. true? Fuck if he knew, sounded good though. Where's the good vibes? Daria was the good vibes, and he looked hopefully over at his fellow dragon, putting on the sad eyes and everything. Please help me, I don't know how to people well enough to navigate this. Thankfully Celso was being encouraging, and he was fully prepared to later ask if that was Daria's mom. Oh shit they were coming over to the fountain. Fuck yes, fuck ye- Stop clicking Rus, people don't make that sound but damn if it wasn't happening anyways. At least someone might just think he was clicking his tongue?
(17:53:08) Daria's eyes pretty much just narrowed on Will as he continued to pretty much just act like a cat that someone had dumped water on. And When Celso decided to go closer? Well, all Daria did was reach out and roughly try and snag his upper arm to keep him from getting any closer. Nope, not going near That disaster, thank you very much. Even if Will's agitated state was directed towards Lykke, it didn't stop Daria from wanting to throw Celso over his shoulder and make for literally anywhere else. Of course, Rus's eager clicking and begging eyes were pretty much all Daria needed to change his mind-- but he wouldn't be distracted by a dip in the water. Instead, he sort of ended up push-shoving Celso around until he was able to navigate them over to the fountain while consistently keeping himself between the witch and "danger" (Will). Once closer, the dragon tilted his head and said (to Rus), "Is that all your money?" while pointing at the many coins that littered the bottom of the fountain.
(17:54:38) Lykke had noticed the strange clicking sound that Rus was making but hadn't spoken on it. When Slick shot back at her she would roll her eyes. "How about you go get stuffed? Everyone was having a good time before you showed up, shoo." Waving her hand dismissively at him before she went back to trying to keep her attention on Rus and Daria, with Celso now coming to semi-join them, if only on the edge of the fountain. "Lucky security hasn't come out here yet, they'd probably ban us from the mall..." She mused, sticking her leg out of the water to examine her skin... She'd certainly need to tan herself some more, the Washington winter was making it fade a ton, she was going to go back to being pale and pasty if she didn't. When Daria pointed out the coins at the bottom she couldn't help but grin. "Don't think it is, but don't take any... People throw them in here for wishes and shit, and if you take one you'll get bad luck, plus they donate it to charity every month." She explained to him.
(18:03:52) Will Hadote turned his attention onto Rus when he spoke. "I'm Slick," he returned, his pale blue gaze darting to Daria as she held her friend back from him, then clearly avoided his as they made their way to the fountain. Was he pissy? Maybe a bit, yeah, but only because of Lykke- and now, he guessed, from the other's reaction. His attention immediately snapped to Lykke as she spoke again. "Says the one who motherfucking -attacked- me in that goddamned bar. But y'know what? Fine, whatever, have fun with your new fucking friends, you crazy fucking bitch." A few years ago he would've punched her; now, however, he just turned to start heading inside.
(18:10:31) Celso, in the end, allowed Daria to maneuver him as he saw fit. He wanted his familiar to have a good time and Slick's behavior only seemed to escalate to at least make it justified on Daria's part to be cautious. Celso wasn't going to get involved in whatever was going on between Slick and Lykke and he just cooperated completely with Daria. He took his seat once he was able to and just let Daria ask his question. Mmmm, he had a sneaking suspicion a certain dragon was going to see free money and contemplate taking it. At least Lykke had the whole 'they're for wishes' thing covered so he didn't actually need to add his input. If Daria looked his way, he would nod in confirmation, "They use the money to help people who need help." Content to just sit for a moment, he nodded to Daria, "Go on, have some fun." He didn't exactly try to initiate conversation with anyone himself, but Celso seemed content to watch.
(18:17:55) Rus: Get stuffed? Like.. a stuffed animal? "They don't.. stuff people?" Was he asking her? Was he asking Daria or Celso? Will? Someone reassure this poor sweet child because he is so concerned right now by barbaric human practices. "I don't actually have money," he confessed to Daria, because he was.. not good at handling it. He still had the snow cone machine he'd paid a man far too much for sitting in his room to prove it. Things had apparently come to a head between Will and Lucky, and he pouted just a little bit because it looked like their fun was not going to involve another party. Ah well, he was feeling cooler now, anyway, and Luck and HOPEFULLY Daria were going to keep him company in the fountain until security inevitably pulled up. "Bye Slick!" Manners? Yeah. with Celso encouraging, Rus decided to hop on board. "The water's great," he told Daria. "It'lld be fun."
(18:23:04) Lykke blinked over to Rus when he asked her about what she had just said, a bemused smile on her face. "No, it's a saying... Like 'Go fuck yourself'." She explained to him with a snort, then Slick gave his retort and she shot a glare back at him. "Yeah?! Maybe I should hit you again! Maybe you'll learn not to steal peoples girlfriends!" Firing that away at his retreating back. With a grumble she slumped herself down into the water. "Bag of dicks he is... My ex comes into the bar, trying to make nice with me, promising me we'll get back together, then he swaggers on in, up behind her and wraps his arms around her, proper piece of work they both are..." Huffing out beneath her breath she shook her head, she promised herself she wouldn't think about either of them again... But that irish temper had a nasty influence in her. Looking to the others she would smirk slightly. "So, you guys new here in town? Or have I just never seen any of you?" Trying to cool off apparently now.
(18:25:58) Daria listened attentively to Lykke's explanation-- he was eager to learn, he really was. And of course, when he turned to Celso to ask another question, it was answered before he could even ask it. Of course, charity would be the thing that baffled him. Still, his soft frown was contemplative and introspective as he nodded. Wishes and charities and all these silly human inventions that made no sense to him. Still, he didn't really relax until Will was gone, and then he finally seemed content enough to kneel down and stick his hand in the water. Maybe it WOULD be fun, but something about him was already feeling guilty that Celso wouldn't be joining. He wanted Celso to join. Of course, Lykke was just ...rambling off about a lot of stuff that basically made no sense at all to Daria, so he just frowned. He wanted to take these coins. "I don't have money either," he'd say simply, to Rus, because dragon bonding?
(18:26:28) Will Hadote caught her retort as he was heading back into the mall, and he had to force himself to keep walking. Breathe, breathe... anger management 101 techniques were fortunately popping up in his head. "I didn't steal shit; maybe she just realized how fucked up you are, and left your sorry ass for me!" He wasn't in a good enough mood to respond to Rus's 'bye' as he headed inside, but he did appreciate the fact that he was the only one not treating him like a leper.
(18:43:11) Celso really didn't know what to do with Slick considering his aggressive stance, and by association it made him leery of Lykke simply because she switched so quickly from her anger to her happiness-- but Celso was just a little bit imperfect at the dealing with people department. It made sense the young witch merely kept to himself in the situation-- especially with the lackadaisical way Lykke was apparently explaining things. It wasn't wrong, but it was just bizarre. He merely answered a simple, "We're new in town." Of course, he was used to small bits of panic, so he didn't find Rus' worry to be unusual, but since it was answered he didn't add to it. He watched Daria's motion and he tipped his head curiously. "Go ahead, it's fine." He didn't know why he was hesitating since this seemed right up Daria's alley, but he'd just encourage him again regardless.
(19:05:39) Rus didn't understand the woes of relationships just yet. The first and only time he'd had sex, Sorin had beat the shit out of the guy. Stealing girlfriends and boyfriends, or even having one at all, was at the very bottom of his to do list. Which was fine- could you imagine him trying to have a normal human relationship? "Yeah, I'm new. I'm from... somewhere far over that way." He pointed, probably not in the direction of New York, but he couldn't do maps too fucking well. They don't teach geography to baby dragons, not in the human way. "Money is confusing," he lamented to Daria. "It doesn't even look pretty." As though that was what really counted, not the value of the dollar or anything. He didn't hesitate to very playfully flick some water over at Daria- not Celso, though. Something told him not to mess with Celso, even playfully. Dragon Stuff, probably.
(19:08:44) Daria didn't really know what to do, mostly because he wasn't really all that skilled with social interactions. And, apparently, social interaction was the key to swimming in a fountain. Which really took a lot of the fun out of it. Mostly, he just wanted to take the coins. Of course, according to Lykke that meant there would be bad luck and broken wishes or something, so he couldn't do that. Celso's encouragement was endearing, but today just wouldn't be the day for that. The talk of money not even looking pretty just had Daria laughing because that was true. "People like to collect ugly things. Some of them have so much of it they can't even keep it with them. Have you seen banks?" he'd say like it was the craziest thing he had ever seen in his whole dragon life. Of course, being flicked with water was pretty much just as baffling because ...well, he wasn't expecting it. Still, he was quick to retaliate, by splashing a LOT more water in Rus's direction-- probably getting Lykke as well.
(19:28:17) Lykke looked over to the others as they explained they were new there in town, a simple nod of her head was given in response. "I've lived here all my life." She explained to them, sitting up in the fountain, when Rus flicked some water at Daria, chuckling out softly she would grin until she was splashed with some water as well in retaliation by Daria. "Ah! Hey!" She chuckled out, splashing the other two before fleeing to the other side of the fountain where they hopefully couldn't reach her with water. "You guys should come by the beach sometime, I hang out there a ton, and it's really nice in the summer time." Which it was going to be soon. "Good time to get tanned, or just enjoy the surf." Nodding her head as she would gaze at Daria and Rus from around the side of the fountain.
