Early this morning, a fifth wheel and its truck were found mauled in the woods near the west side of the island. The damage of the site, and tracks found nearby, are believed to be caused by a bear.
Tourists are warned to keep all food and other things potentially enticing to wildlife locked up using the appropriate methods, and if boondocking, backpacking, or camping, extra caution is to be exercised.
It is undetermined whether or not anyone was actually injured in the attack.
Zaye Ciel, the search-and-rescue pilot that found the wreckage, had this to say:
"Huh? Oh-oh this thing's recording already? Oops. Shoot. Uhm, hi. I'm Zaye Ciel, uh… search and rescue pilot assigned to Caribou Coast. Was that okay? Huh? Keep going? Y-yeah, okay. Uh, so I was flying overheard doing the rounds when I saw something out in the woods. I circled back around and saw it was some sort of RV, but it looked like it'd been ransacked. There's been a lot of disappearances lately- that's uh, that's why I was brought on- and I don't know, form what I could see from above, it looked like maybe a bear attack? I guess that explains the disappearances."
