Emit: (16:11:42) [#] You'd think in the age of smartphones Gracie wouldn't get caught out in the rain but uh.. those Ford kids never had those, so Grace got caught in the downpour. Luckily, she was right by the library. They probably frown upon you dripping dry near the books right? Is it loud in here? Whoops, looks like she wasn't the only one with the bright idea to take shelter. Is it time to sing songs around the light of a phone screen and pretend this is a total disaster? Maybe. `join Gracelynn

(16:20:38) Gracelynn was soaked to the fucking core, and she wasn't thrilled about it. Teeth rattled as she stepped into the air conditioned library, wrapping her arms around herself and tucking them into her pits, cursing quietly as she noted the puddles in her under arms. How? It had just been drizzling! The sky wasn't even all that dark! She yanked her phone out of her pocket, a tragic flip that barely seemed to know how to dial out let alone alert her to new weather patterns. She should.. maybe watch the news later, see what kinda weather they were looking at. She'd heard someone at school talking about an evacuation, how bad was this shit supposed to get? Others brushed past her, and she moved outo f the doorway and made valiant effort not to make eye contact with the librarian as her soaked sandals sopped water onto the hard wood, trailing small puddles behind her from her cargo pants. "Fuck," she muttered. "What's that wet dog smell?" A joke, a total joke, but also... ugh, she kinda did (c)
(16:21:27) Gracelynn: have that scent to the sensitive nose. Yuck. She dropped her backpack onto the floor, pulled out her body spray and gave a quick spritz before flipping her phone open and- "Oh son of a bitch." The screen was white. Had it gotten soaked? Probably, cheap piece of shit. (d)

(16:30:18) Valerie Ravn hadn't meant to get rained in. But she had some library books to return. She took the harrowing trek into town, though it seemed like it was still only misting. Definitely okay. But as if on cue, the moment she stepped inside it began pouring rain outside. Of course. Well, she returned the books, then took a look around the library. Maybe she should wait until it lets up? The distinct scent of a familiar wet dog filled Valerie's nostrils. She followed after the scent and found it coming from a friendly face! "Hey Grace!" The chipper young woman walked over and gave Gracelynn a wave. "Oh, uh. I take it that you got caught out in the rain." She shrugged. "Yeah, my roommates and I set up a wall of sandbags around our cabin. I thought it wasn't necessary, but uh, I guess so."

(16:35:31) Iakopa seemed a little better prepared for the weather, considering all types of practice had been canceled for the next week and he'd taken to carrying a rain poncho around with him at all times. Said poncho was currently on him as he walked into the library simply because it was the closest thing to where he'd been and he resisted the urge to shake himself violently. Kopa wasn't sure people would appreciate the gesture at all. To be polite, he did take off the poncho and hang it where others had their coats, rubbing his arms as he stepped further into the library. Despite his jock image at school, Kopa did spend a lot of time here. A little bit of school research, a lot of digging deep into anatomy books. Work research, y'know? His nose twitched, sensitive despite the damp air caused by the rain and he soon found himself catching up with Grace and Val. "Sup?"

(16:41:13) Gracelynn glanced up at the excited voice, eyes lighting up with joy despite her annoyance over how soaked the bone she was right now. Val! God damn if she didn't miss Wolf Punch, wished they could get the whole damn thing together. Her wolf was missing that sensation of pack and home so sorely. "Yeah, I didn'think it was gonna jus'fuckin' burst open like that," she admitted. "Sandbags? S'it really 'sposed't be that bad? Damn." And there was.. Kopa. Looking dry? What the fuck? "Hey! How come ya ain't soaked like me ya dick!" She slung an arm around his neck- with a lot of effort mind you, since he was a hulking monster- but it was more to get him wet than to actually be affectionate. Maybe both, actually.

(16:50:34) Valerie Ravn, as much as she loved the Herd, couldn't help but feel the same longing that Grace felt. There was something about running around with wolves that really felt comforting. She laughed as Grace attempted to share her rainwater with Kopa. Val looked down at her own clothes. She hadn't brought an umbrella with her, and she had walked out all the way from the forest...oh, she was soaking wet. She hadn't even noticed. Welp. Best join in on the hugging. She wrapped an arm around Kopa's chest (she was too short to reach higher than that) and added, "Or me! You know, hydration is important." She'd offer a high-five to Grace for succeeding in soaking Iakopa.

(17:00:16) Iakopa made a little noise of surprise as he was jumped on not once but twice, his previously dry clothes now damp. "Nooooooo.." There wasn't much heat behind his complaint and he hugged them both, maybe giving a little squeeze as he did. Kopa had to watch how hard he went around squeezing people, his brain didn't ever remember to tone it down when he wasn't at work. "I wore a poncho, school was giving them out." His nose wrinkled as he grinned at them, "I was hydrated! You two though.. you look drenched. Went for a swim, huh?" Playful tone continued as he flopped into a seat. "I wonder how long it's gonna rain. Coach says he's not even gonna try to arrange anything until he's 100% sure that we aren't gonna get flooded out." Kopa paused, "Hope it doesn't flood."

(17:13:08) Gracelynn: Squeeze this one all you want Kope's, Gracie could handle a bear hug. Or a wolf hug? "Aw fuck I didn't have a class yet t'day, I want a fancy trashbag dress. Bet ya look real cute in it," she said as she drew back, reaching up to playfully pop him on the nose with the tip of her finger. Since Val had joined in on the hug, she'd gotten one too, Grace pretty thrilled to brush some of her scent off on the bird even if it was.. wet and gross right now. "Mannn how'm I s'posed t'run if the fuckin' ground is a river?" she complained, glancing out the window and seeing water rushing by along the street. It wasn't deep, but uh.. yeah that flooding thing looked like it could happen. "Wonder how long this's gonna last. Ya'll see the weather? I forget it's an island sometimes, probably rains a lot."

(17:25:20) Valerie Ravn looked outside with Grace. "Ah jeeze, I didn't think it was going to get that bad." She shook her head. "I'm gonna have to swim back." She shrugged. "Yeah, I forget it's an island, too. Speaking of, looks like we're stuck on it until the rain stops." She attempted to air out a bit of her shirt. It didn't help much. "So, what're you two doing here? I was just dropping off some library books."

(17:33:21) Iakopa snorted a little at the idea of looking cute in his poncho. He was pretty sure he'd spooked more than one little old lady on the way here. Mountain of plastic. He nearly nipped her when he was practically booped, grin still on his face to show it was all in good fun. "Rains pretty hard where my folks are. Hopefully there won't be.. y'know.. the whole.. monsoon thing." The pack he was born into knew plenty about bunking down but even then, they still suffered losses when it came to bad storm seasons. He looked thoughtful when Val spoke up, "Oh yeah, guess you can't fly in this can you.." It was murmured fairly quietly, not to keep it hush but mainly because they were in a library. He wasn't trying to be rude. "I was on my way to work but I figure I can be a little late." Not like he had to clock in and he hadn't heard anything from his tiny boss yet.

(17:47:40) Gracelynn: "I was just out thinkin'." Grace did that a lot okay? She was caught up on school work and had nothing to distract herself with. A job. She really needed a job. Maybe someone would need a new employee after all the flooding. "Ya'll we're gonna have to build a boat outta Kopes and whistle while we row down the river." Ohh she really did have jokes didn't she? "I think it's.. lettin' up a lil." Or maybe that was wishful thinking. "Sorry I got ya wet if yer goin' t'work, Kopes. I'll make it up to ya. Maybe." She absolutely would, probably in the form of.. something nice. She wasn't sure what that something was yet. "Hey, if we steal his poncho it'll pro'lly fit both of us," she told Val in the worst stage whisper in the world.

(17:52:48) Valerie Ravn whispered...okay she didn't even do that much. She slightly lowered her voice, "We should definitely steal his poncho. But then we'd have to walk together...maybe we can cut it in two?" And then we can use it as a sail for our boat and sail our way to freedom. Just like in that one movie." Valerie giggled like she was a little kid getting away with stealing a slice of cake.

(17:59:36) Iakopa chuckled as he started to look over some of the nearby books, fingers skimming the spines of them. "I'd make a really bad boat, who told you I could swim?" He could but that's not the point! "And nah, the boss doesn't care how I come in so long as I do." Considering said boss was probably out rolling in the mud or something equally as ridiculous. He arched his brows at the pair, shaking his head as he chuckled, "You'll both be fine. You're already wet so it's not like you can get.. more wet? Can that happen?" If he thought too hard, he was going to hurt himself. "I probably should be going though, I know it's not really a thing for me to be 'late' but I should still show up.." He knew for a fact someone was getting to walk off the docks today. And not come back up. Kopa scooped up Val in a hug, "Hang out more, birdie. We miss ya." Grace was next and he squeezed her right up, "I'll call you after work."

(18:10:48) Gracelynn: "I'mmmm sailinnn' awayyy," Grace sang, grinning at Val and hitting her with those fingerguns before Kopa had to go and ruin the fun. "Nah I can't get more fuckin' wet thanks fer askin'." She was still standing in a puddle. Maybe she should offer to clean that up. Was the library hiring? Nevermind she'd go out of her fucking mind working in a place this quiet, even if there was a lot more chatter going on than usual with the rain outside. She grunted as he hugged her, and laughed. "Don't bother callin', phones busted," she said, lifting the flip phone up and dangling the still totally white screen. "Must'a got wet. I'll get another one.. 'ventually." Definitely not on her list of priorities while she was looking for work.

(18:15:22) Valerie Ravn smiled. She was getting so many hugs! She waved to Kopa. "See you around." She turned to Grace and lifted her arms up a little. "Alright, alright, I'll make sure to keep in touch." She looked at Grace's phone with a raised eyebrow. "Though I'll probably have to contact you by carrier pigeon." Val grinned. She looked outside and saw that there was a break in the rain. "Oh, that's my cue to head home before it starts pouring again." She gave Grace one last hug, before darting off outside, leaving a veritable snail trail of rainwater behind her.

(18:24:44) Iakopa blinked as Grace said she didn't have a phone, digging around in his pockets that were still relatively safe from the rain and pulling out a cell phone, pushing it into her hand. "Here. I'll call this after work." Before she could react, throw the phone at him, or do.. pretty much anything, he was giving Val another quick hug and all but bolting for the door. Not without stopping to grab his poncho, that was not going to be used for making any sailboats thank you, tugging it over his head and then clambering out the door. Once he got out there, he was headed for.. the docks? What a horrible place to be when the weather looks like this, honestly.
