Emit: Out for a walk in the middle of a rain storm? No, Samir wanted to go shopping, but learned a lot of places are closed! How sad, too bad. Wonder who else is crazy enough to be about on day two of massive storm? `Join Samir Kerem [1-2 Spots]" (By Alecai)

Samir Kerem had a plan to go shopping today, Rius had mentioned wanting a phone and Samir thought he could get one at the local store. However, he soon came to realize with the whole evacuation, that meant that many shops were also closed--including the phone store he was planning to go to. The mall was a ghost town even! (Of course there were those crazy places that claimed they never closed--mostly fast food shops. They were still open!) The tall elf sighed, splashing in puddles on the side walk with his yellow rain boots, umbrella slung over his shoulder. It wasn't raining too hard, but surely it hadn't stopped raining over night. His mind wandered to his friends and he hoped that they were thinking about leaving the island over sticking around.
Will Hadote's truck was finally finished getting repaired, after a week- he'd been in the hospital for nearly that long, so it wasn't as if there was a hurry to get it fixed. It was still dented, scratched, needed a paint job, but it ran at least, and he was driving it back to where his fifth wheel was parked in Missy's warehouse when he saw someone walking on the side of the road- was that Samir? Pulling over, he rolled the window down. "Need a ride?" He looked a little crappy, still, but much better than he had even a few days prior.
Brontes Samir wasn't the only one walking in this blasted weather and flood. He was barefooted and his jeans were rolled up to his thighs, the bottom hem pulled up to his crotch and then from there folded up again to make it look like he was wearing shorts. In the distance he saw Samir and Will. Part of him wanted to wave and the other part of him just wanted to keep trucking on. He was heading to get food anyways. Rainy days deserved junky food after all. This side won over for the time being after all, he was pretty sure if Will saw him, he'd just drive away anyways.
Samir Kerem raised an eyebrow when he noticed a truck pulling up beside him. He was in jeans and a wind breaker today, so there was no chance he'd be mistaken for someone working. Then a window rolled down and he was met with a familiar face. Slick! He smiled and waved, then pulled out his phone from his bag and typed away at it, then held the phone into the window of the truck so it could hopefully be heard. "I can't, cars have too much iron in them for me. Is Dean at the RV?" Samir did not see Dominic though, focused on the conversation in the car for now.
Will Hadote didn't see Dominic yet either, looking out the window at Samir- more like, at Samir's phone, which he kind of had to look down to see. "Oh. Uh, there's the bed, which is covered in plastic." Did that work? He shook his head at the question of Dean. "Nah, I... think he's staying with someone named Riker, now. Doesn't have a damned phone, so I can't get ahold of him."
Brontes adjusted his shoes that he'd tied the laces of on his shoulders and began to hop across the water, splashing. He would be lying if he didn't think it was kind of fun as he ran towards the mall to see if there were any of the food shops open within.
Samir Kerem. Aww, Slick was being thoughtful! Still, Samir shook his head. There was likely iron in the body of the vehicle and that was enough for him to feel sick or like he couldn't breath if enclosed... Although if he just sat in the bed of the truck that should be fine. Wait, what did he sat about Dean? He was staying with someone else? His brows furrowed and his eyes narrowed (and his hidden ears dropped). What did he mean he didn't know exactly where the teen was staying!? Samir pulled his phone back and started to type into it, then noticed the splashing behind him and turned to see what other crazy person was out in the rain. Oh! Dominic! Turning back to Slick, he held up a finger as if to say 'one moment' and turned to whistle with two fingers in his mouth, trying to get Dominic's attention.
Will Hadote shrugged. If Samir couldn't get in the truck, it'd be walking for him- how in the hell did he get anywhere? He saw the expression on Samir's face regarding Dean, and frowned. "What, it's not like I'm his dad or something. He can stay wherever he wants." Then Samir was holding up the 'one moment' finger, before whistling to... someone. Slick had to crane his neck to see.
Brontes Samir's little job did the trick as his running slowed, the splashing had soaked his pants. All that folding of his pants and for nothing. He slowly looked towards Slick and Samir as if he had been caught doing something terribly wrong. The slow turn had the light amber eyes resting upon the truck and Samir, once again torn to do an instinct that felt so... outdated. The demon flashed a flat smile before he pointed towards the mall, saying he was going the fuck inside, thank you very much. And that's just what he did.
Samir Kerem rolled his eyes at the dead comment. Slick might not be Dean's dad, but Samir considered himself a parent to the teen...A very bad parent right now, since he'd pretty much dropped Dean off with Slick and seemed to forget about him. Ops. However, now his eyes were on Dominic, watching him walk towards the mall. If he could speak, he'd have told him that most places were closed. He sighed and turned back to Slick, typing into his phone. "It was Dom, he went into the mall. How long had Dean been staying with Riker?" He...thought he'd met a man named that once.
[Dreamwide Event] Forget those bright skies. Thunder broke through the clouds of Caribou Coast yet again. Thick, white sheets of rain send heavy raindrops down and onto the island. Hopefully things don't keep up this way, we could have a few weather warnings on our hands.
Will Hadote caught a glimpse of Dominic going into the mall; Samir confirmed that. Slick heaved out a breath, but didn't go after him- had Dominic seen him? He must've at least recognized the truck, since the guy drove across the damned country with him in it, and lived with him for a few weeks. His gaze trailed back to Samir. "I dunno, a week or two maybe. They hang out a lot." Aand there was the rain again. "Sure you can't get a ride?"
Samir Kerem frowned at hearing that Dean just left about a week ago or so. Sigh, he started to type a new message to ask if Slick knew where Riker lived when the rain started coming down harder now, along with thunder. He shook his head again at the offer of a ride and typed into his phone. "Can't get in the car, sorry. I'm going to go wait in the mall with Dom I guess," the phone said and Samir turned to walk towards the building.
Will Hadote glanced towards the mall, then back to Samir as he said he couldn't. "Alright. I should get back before this rain gets worse." Samir was walking off, and Slick rolled up the window again, continuing on his way.
Brontes had moved up to one of the food shops that was still open, pizza. So when asked, "Yeah... the sky's falling out, out there." He said quietly as he considered eating here or trying to make it back home. He then wondered if he could call Ren to get him. Had the man ever been into the Mall? He took a couple pictures real quick and sent them to the demon. Just incase the shit hit the fan he wanted an exit strategy. With a text that said, If I don't text you in an hour help me. However as he did this, he was looking near the door and more than likely seeing Samir come in. He doubted Will would be coming up behind him. Why that got his ire up, who knew?
Samir Kerem was not followed by Slick, nope. The elf stopped in the doorway, shaking his umbrella off and closing it up, then waved at Dominic, jogging over to him. He...wished he could just sign to the young man, it'd make things easier sometimes. Instead, he had his phone out and typed into it. Once he was close enough, he played the message. "Not many places are open...You look drenched. You'll catch a cold."
Raymond Zeznik was also in line for some pizza- not his first choice for food -he preferred a good burger- but he was definitely not picky, especially now. Through the scent of rain, he smelled a bit like motor oil, and a tad like whiskey. The chestnut eyes were clear, however; he was far from drunk. Ordering a few slices of pepperoni with some garlic bread sticks, he couldn't help but overhear the update of the weather from Dominic as he spoke to the pizza-place worker. "Is it, now?" He whistled lowly. "And here I was thinkin' maybe we'd luck out." Glancing to Samir as he gave over, Ray raised a hand in greeting, before he turned to gather and pay for his food.
Brontes glanced up to Raymond as he spoke to him. Oh to ways he will never look. Would he even age? Would he ever be... a man? Envious he looked on at Raymond up and down before he too was glancing back to Samir running over to him. was he soaked? He plucked at his shirt, guess so. "I'm not gonna catch a cold." He told Samir, "You seriously worry too much." He turned to come up behind Raymond, "Nah man, we are shit out of luck. I want pepperoni with bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes and can I also get bread sticks with extra marinara sauce." He was about to say thank you when he remembered Samir was right there. He looked towards him with a smile before looking up to Raymond again. Man he hoped he looked like him some day, fuck...
Samir Kerem waved back at Ray, unsure if this was a friendly stranger or a friend of Dominic's that he'd never met before. The elf's hidden ears dropped at being told he worried too much. This was at least the second time he'd been told that lately. He thought he worried just enough to not be called paranoid! Samir sighed and waited near Dominic, planning sit with him if he sat down--or if he decided to leave, he'd at least offer to walk him home so they could share an umbrella.
Raymond Zeznik missed the look Dominic gave him, as he was turned from the guy to get a good few napkins. He wasn't a total messy neanderthal, despite what some people thought after visiting his hangar's work space area. "Work'll be pickin' up soon then, I reckon. Either'a you happen to need a ride off this rock?" He grabbed his plate of food, brows raising questioningly, before he extended his free hand towards the two. "Raymond Zaruli Zeznik, ace pilot an' Captain."
Brontes noted the way Samir stood beside him and then looked over to Ray as he offered a ride. "Ah... I guess?" to the bit about work picking up soon but then shook his head, "What do you mean a ride from the island or the mall?" He said as he received his drink and took a sip before the earlier statement made more sense. Oh he was a pilot. "Oh you mean people like, life flighting them?" He slowly nodded, "No I think I'll stay," He took a very long sip and then looked over to Samir and then pointed his way with a thumb. "He might need to be taken off this ride though. I've been through worse."
Samir Kerem saw the thumb pointed at him and had an insulted look on his face, his head inching back and a hand placed over his chest as if you say 'me?' He shook his head and grabbed out his phone out to type into it. "I'll be fine. I've got ways to leave if things get too bad," the phone said in it's robotic tone. He couldn't very well tell this man, Raymond...Oh. He gave out his full name didn't he? He should be careful with that. Either way, he couldn't tell this most likely human fellow that he could open a portal to another world at any time. That would land Samir in the loony bin. The tall man started typing into his phone again. "Dom you'll leave if things get too bad, won't you?"
Raymond Zeznik would've answered Dominic's question, only the kid figured the answer out for himself. "Yessir; people, cargo, important family heirlooms... gotta keep Grand-Nan's antique wardrobe safe, after all." He chuckled, though shook his head as Samir looked offended at Dominic calling him out. "No need to feel like you gotta tough it out; Seattle's less than a half-hour away by plane." He said he'd be fine, though. "Alright, I'll be here if y'need me." That clearly went for the both of them.
Brontes "Dominic by the way, pleasure to meet you and that there is Samir." He would grab his food, "Can I get that in a to-go box." Cause on second thought, maybe he just wanted to be alone again for another day without anyone telling him to worry about shit or make him feel like he was inadequate in any way. He really couldn't deal with it, even if he knew they were trying to help. It wasn't Ray, it was Samir's texts and insistence that was beginning to sound like a broken record. "Thanks," He told the person, not sorry Samir. Had he just done that on purpose as he "That's cool man." He grabbed his to-go box. His phone started to ring and he'd pick it up and glanced at them. "I got a ride, thanks..." He would head towards the bathroom though first seemed he needed to take a leak. The thing was though... he never came out, or did he just slip by undetected when he had left?
Samir Kerem was probably a broken record. He did tend to repeat himself often... at least with the whole rain situation, he had good reason to! He flinched when Dominic thanked the person who gave him a box for his food. He had no idea that he'd just driven Dominic away with how annoying he was being. Then Dom said he was leaving with a ride and Samir sighed a little. He should probably head out too. First he typed into his phone and played a message towards Ray. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Raymond. I hope no one on the island will need rescuing services. If they do however, I am sure you will be able to provide them. May the skies always be clear for when you fly." ...Was that a fairy blessing? Nooo...Blessings had to be spoken with words, not with phones (besides, Samir was nothing but an elf, right?). He still had the intent to give such a blessing to Raymond. Perhaps when he flew soon, the skies would be clear for him.
Raymond Zeznik nodded to Dominic as he headed out, then turned to Samir. He cracked a grin, dipping his head in appreciation. "Thank y'kindly; hope I won't need to be rescuin' anyone, either." If the other was headed off, he'd move to sit down at one of the tables to eat his dinner.
