Rules

    • Violence and mature language are allowed in this RP. Other mature content is not allowed on these forums. Take it to a private message.
    • In-character posts should be multi-paragraph. At least two, but preferable 3+. Yes, sometimes they will be shorter, for example in a conversation. But this should be the exception, not the rule.
    • If your character is eliminated from the game, you are still welcome to participate in any speculation on the killer's identity or out-of-character chat. However, that character can no longer vote, nor can you write as them in the in-character threads. After all, they're dead...
    • Please read all official stories of murders and executions.
    • There will be one thread where each murder and execution will be posted. This thread is for these posts only. Please do not post here. It will be in its own forum. Please do not create threads in this forum.
    • Voting is required. Miss one vote and I'll send you a polite reminder (as well as checking up on your and making sure you're okay. I'm not totally heartless...). Missing two consecutive votes or an overall total of four votes will result in you being removed for inactivity (if you are on early in the voting period but aren't sure if you'll be able to get on later, vote early. You can edit your vote later on if you can get on.) How will you be removed? Your character will be the next murder victim. If you have two characters, they will be removed one after the other, unless you message me before the second is removed.
    • There is a forum devoted to voting. Please do not create threads here. A separate thread will be created for each vote. The current voting thread will be stickied. Old threads will be locked. Only write one post per character per thread. If you wish to change a vote, change the original post- do not make a second post! If you do have two posts, we will count the first vote, not the second. EDIT! Also, simply write the name of the character you are voting for. Please do not add extra information.
    • There are two OOC threads. One is for any speculation as to the killer's identity. The other is for any and all OOC chat. Please keep them separate.
    • Remember, trying to figure out who the killer is is the main point of the game. If people suspect your character, it isn't anything personal. I'm sure you'll be pointing a finger at plenty of other people. Please don't get offended if someone suspects your character. Also, if your character is under suspicion, keep in mind that whining and vehemently denying that your character is guilty isn't really going to convince anyone. If you want to save your character do so with logic- come up with a convincing argument to show either that your character couldn't be the killer, or that someone else's character is more likely to be the killer. You can, of course, resort to whining if you really want to. Just know it won't be very effective...
    • There is no pressure from me to consistently post in-character. I leave working out all in-character interaction to you writers participating in this. However, note that when writing murders, I can and will pull clues from the information in the in-character posts. So you would be advised to at the very least keep up with them. And also, this is a RP site- why would you join a group and then not RP? And I'm sure the other writers will appreciate your participation.

And now, here's the schedule we're going to work with:
Note: I am located in the central timezone, so all times below are based on this time.
    • Murder stories will be posted Sunday afternoon (or possibly evening if I'm busy.)
    • The voting period will last from the time the murder is posted until noon on Friday.
    • The execution story will be posted Friday afternoon (or, again, possibly evening.)
    • The killer's decision on their next victim will be due by midnight on Saturday.
    • Process repeats, starting with the next murder story, until such time as the correct killer is executed or the killer is the last remaining character.
