If you read the continuity page, you may know a little bit about Sin City already. The city is actually named "Basin City" - but it's most popular name, Sin City, derives from the amount of criminal acts performed each day. If you're looking for a nice, quiet little place to call home, you best steer clear of this city. It's home to many gangs, mobs, and some of the most wanted criminals known to America.

Located in northern Los Angeles, the police force has banded together a special kind of unit to detain and stop the more dangerous supernatural criminals on the streets. But the problem in Sin City is that there seem to be more criminals than there are, officers. There are your typical civilians who live in this city, trying to get by and create a life for themselves. Not everyone is a criminal. But one must be very careful treading these streets at night.

Why would people live here if it's so dangerous, you ask? Well, there's a couple of different reasons. One of those reasons being that some people just simply can't get out of there. Whether it be because of poverty or maybe work brings people here to stay long-term. The pay rate in Sin City for most government officials or big corporate jobs is quite high for some people, depending on their job title. And most of those corporations are only housed in Basin City.

How did this city become so bad?

Well, when it came to the light that the supernatural community is no longer of someone's fantasy dreams and that they're very real, it set off a chain of events. Turf wars between werewolves and vampires and other creatures... Some supernatural gangs formed together to try and become the more, "superior race" and take over the human's land. One could say that a riot of both humans and supes alike is a typical day in Sin City. Many hunters live here, as well, trying to help the community by ridding this city of all the bad and nasty beasts. Murder is no stranger here, and not a day goes by that there's not a few here and there in the news paper.

Not all parts of Sin City is bad. There are some more quiet areas in the city where people could likely live peacefully and normally. But very seldom, do people get the chance to move into those areas. Especially since when a house or apartment becomes available, it's snatched up quickly by those who need to get out of the bad part of the city.
