NINE DEAD, INCLUDING BCU DEAN, JUSTIN RHINES

At a speech gone awry, nine victims lost their lives to gunfire in Basin City town square. Suspects are still being identified, but the estimated death toll is estimated to be at 17 including the shooters, with 26 others wounded. Eyewitness Krzysztof Krakow, 39, who was present at the speech, spoke to Basin City Daily about the incident. “In the middle of the speech, a gunshot ran out. Then, suddenly, the gunfire seemed to come from everywhere. A police officer guided me to safety, but there was fire everywhere and loud noises. I couldn’t make out a whole lot. I’m just glad I [sic] got out safe.” Lieutenant Adam Hero was reached out to for comment on the incident of the police response to the incident, who only spoke these words: "See what happens when we all work together as a team? We win."

While the city is still recovering from this act of violence, the issue of Supernatural education and violence, which the speech intended to address, is still at an all-time high. Another eyewitness, Chad Young, 21, said the following, “I think that a lot of the problems weren’t going to be solved with the speech. I knew that nothing was going to happen, but a lot of students were there to write about the speech itself for our classes. A lot of my friends are still trying to figure out why this would happen. I just remember gunfire, fire being everywhere, and soundwaves rocking the whole square.”

Victims are still being identified now, with pending notification to the families of the deceased, with the most significant casualty being identified as the Dean. Many are still in the hospitals in critical condition. The mayor has yet to speak on the issue, despite being present at the incident. There are still many unanswered questions related to the incident, but more information will be released as it becomes available.
