--- WHAT'S HAPPENING ---
The isle of Guildereim fills with a thick fog one night. The jungle grows silent and the ocean becomes still. Through the fog, there are various sightings of people wandering out into the wilderness and becoming lost, perhaps enticed by some strange power. There are whispers heard in the air, and the occasional cry for help from the jungle where the wanderers vanished. A call for volunteers, patron and slave alike, is put out to scour the area just outside of the Teather to locate these lost souls.
This is a combat event, with a heavy focus on plot and survival. Dice rolls will be used to keep combat outcomes balanced, but players are encouraged to think imaginatively! The event is open to all; owned slaves, unowned slaves and patrons. You do not need to have aspects registered in the arena, and you do not necessarily need a combat focused character to take part.
The goal of the event is to both survive a boss fight and put up as much of a fight as possible. The opponent is a powerful human named Blackwake, who wields complex and tricky magic. Attacking him is risky, and he will cast a different spell every turn that will alter the game slightly - keep on your toes! The game ends when either Blackwake escapes, is defeated or the party wipes. Players are expected to lose HP rapidly, so the option to play a support role is available.
--- HOW IT WORKS ---
Each round of posting signifies a single turn of gameplay, and there will be a rough 30 minute timer for posts - short and simple posts are encouraged. The game will last a maximum of six combat rounds, and each will feature a different effect that will be posted at the start of the turn.
Players start with 30hp, and no additional benefits will be offered to individual players. Players reduced to 0 hp are considered too injured to carry on fighting. Along with their posts, players can roll for one of two actions per turn:
Attack Blackwake:
This uses an odds/evens system. Roll a d20 after making your attack post. If an even number is rolled, you cause damage to Blackwake equal to the number rolled. If an odd number is rolled, you suffer damage from Blackwake equal to the number rolled.
Support action:
This involves not actually attacking but ensuring the survival of your allies. Players are expected to lose HP rapidly in this event. Pick a friendly target, make your post and roll a D10 - the target character recovers HP equal to the resulting roll. For the post, a support action could be anything from shielding someone from a spell, pulling them out of the way of falling debris or applying first aid to them.

Event Comments
- Despite all the injuries and being PUNCHED at the very end, Amelia had as good a time as could be expected when fighting a magic-wielding little brat.
-
I will attend if given the chance. But I do have a question - Upon the depletion of one's health, is it a knockout like in a RPG? Because I'm actually afraid of losing Zear.
-
Finally! An event on a weekend I'm actually free!!! Hopefully, I can make it though!
-
Helene MAY be there. It all depends on how I am feeling after having wisdom teeth removed.
-
I am excited for this event >3
-
I'd love to have either Val or Sawhill attend, but I'll be out of town that day. : Don't have too much fun guys!
-
The event date has been moved back to the 21st - sorry for any inconvenience!
