In the event that two player's characters (an example being Aekra and Ellarian, as they nearly came to blows at Edgard's estate) fight and nobody interferes, how will combat go? And what if a character dies? Can the player re-apply with the same character? Or do they have to do something different? Character mortality will have to happen, someone might get unlucky with stabilizing roles or be pelted with AOE attacks while dying.
PVP is a touchy subject. I suppose I should establish some table rules for it.
The #1 rule, Don't be a jerk, is in full effect.
My feeling on PVP is that if two characters are about to come to blows, we need to stop, take a moment, and talk out the situation and potential consequences as writers, rather than just letting the dice fall where they may. And the result of that chat could be, 'Let's just roll this out and see what happens.' If both writers are cool with it, I won't get in the way.
In terms of death, I try to build fights that will /hurt/ with a possibility of death, without being deliberately murderous. If a PC dies, they die. Raise Dead is a 500gp Diamond + spellcasting costs, although you need an NPC willing to do it.
If a PC dies and they aren't raised, the writer, at their discretion, can app a new character either at level 3, or at the level they died at.
