Hey all who haven't been weeded out for inactivity! Soo I'm thinking we should try this all group RP again. Just meaning everyone in Paradise RPing the same event together. A great way for all the characters to meet and interact! Which we are kinda needing.

SO! Shall we have another BBQ? Or some party in one of the resident's apartments? Or shall we go darker this time? Hurricane? Hostage situation? Minor complex fire? Snake infestation? I am completely open to your suggestions, I'd LOVE to hear them. Please! Lets discuss this shiz! Rain yo ideas and opinions on me!

I think a more serious situation could be great for rp as well as giving many characters a reason to get to know/interact together.

(on a random note if this happens around wed-sat ill be on a trip so may not be able to join in right away)
I'm down for anything be it casual or dark but as always my replies might be slightly slow.
Anyone else wanna pitch in their opinions? We need some activity up in this shiz! If no one else is going to respond, I'm gonna default to a nasty hurricane.
Alright I'm back, still pretty busy but I think I can manage. As for events I'd be alright with something darker
New here but chiming in :).

A hurricane works as a solid natural disaster; I don't live anywhere they hit but the destructive potential is obvious anytime I see it in the news. In a group like this though, it'd be less the storm itself that interests me so much as what comes after.

Power knocked out for days. Roadways impassable from flooding and the slowdown of emergency services. Skyrocketing crime rates. Looting. Animals escaping the zoo and running loose in the city. Alligators. Less savory things that were buried now being unearthed. Everytime you watch the news, yeah, you see some inspirational stuff like a girl scout troop that raised enough money to buy a hundred people blankets. That's great.

I think most of us are here to tell stories about the grittier side of things. The human misery stories, the law of the jungle come to roost in the 'civilized' world. Humanity's ongoing inhumanity to itself. A touch of that cyberpunk/dystopian philosophy that people will always be the same bitches and bastards to one another as ever. Predator and prey; survival of the fittest.

Most or all the characters in this group come from the other side of the tracks or at least have one foot solidly planted there. Morally gray, at best. Because in stories like the above, there's also great potential to tell the tale of how a group of neighbors in a shithole apartment complex weathered such an event. Who ate their fellows and who didn't. Who surprised everyone when the 'decent person's facade dropped and who surprised everyone when they could actually be relied on in a pinch. All our characters are neighbors here. I think there's a lot of potential story fodder in detailing how relationships develop, strain, or form under such a circumstance.

A hurricane. A murder across the street. Shirley's has a bad fire and arson is suspected. A union dispute at the Walmart threatens to cause a riot. A dealer starts selling bad shit and someone dies from it, maybe even on a neighbors doorstep. A hostage situation at the apartments. A body is found in the swimming pool.

Whatever it is, it's fun just to have the chance to interact with a backdrop. To see what happens when people from various walks of life are forced to interact, maybe even rely on one another.

I think I'm getting long winded again though.
No mate that was beautifully worded and it'd be extremely interesting to play out, especially for what it could mean for character relationships.
Sorry not been posting or anything, life has been INSANE right now. But, I should be back now, and ready to RP!!

All of these ideas sound amazing (I love dark themes!!), and as much as if love to play out every, single one of them, we've gotta start the list somewhere, right? XD

I honestly don't have any ideas of my own, as I'm kinda short on creativity at the moment, but I'll be here, gladly supporting any other ideas! *akward laugh*

And at that, I'll leave.
Hope to see more ideas!!
I'd be willing down the road to help with story too, if desired.

Thank you for all of your thoughts! That was wonderful and definitely sparked some ideas! I really liked the bad batch of drugs going around idea, I feel like that'd definitely stir trouble in this part of town.
Lets have a vote, everyone. Please, if you have an opinion on what sort of drama we should conjure, please state it! Thanks to Dark, we have a few more options:
- The hurricane and the minor collapse of a society that comes with the disaster
- A murder
- Arson
- A huge riot
- A dealer starts selling bad shit and people start dying from it, including some residents of Paradise
-A hostage situation at the apartments
- A body is found in the swimming pool
I'm cool with Riot or Hurricane, or maybe a mix of both
I like the idea of the hurricane or arson/an apartment fire; either of those would probably be a good way to force residents together.
If you want an Arsonist, then I'm always willing to drag Draco (Lark's brother) in! He'll be happy to start any sort of fire <3
So it sounds like we'll be going with the hurricane! That being said and previously stated, hurricanes can bring out lots of other unsavory events like looting, riots, or for those looking to sprinkle salt on wounds, arson. It'll be a mini and mild collapse of society, until the town can be put back together again. There will be some building damage around the town, there will be flooding, the worst in people will be brought out, perhaps some hidden things will arise from the muck. Some people will try to help mend the town, some people will thrive in the chaos and attempt to extend it.

I'll work up an entrance post to this plot and have it out as soon as I can!
