Enter Vera Crawfield, who had gone out to get some things that were on her grocery list.

What seems like a mundane task to the average person, is actually one of the scariest 30 minutes out of her entire life.

Ever since this thing, started, going outside has become ten times more dangerous than usual. You have no idea who's going to come kill you. Avoid dark alleys, people glancing at you.... Everyone is a suspect. Everyone. What's even worse, is that Vera didn't even want to be in this deadly game in the first place.

At least there was something fairly good that came out of this whole thing; Mortimus. Earlier today, he told Vera that he would protect her if anyone did attack. He also told her that the probability of her getting targetted was high. Mortimus did a really bad job at reassuring her.

Well, at least Vera survived for about a month without any other competitor laying a finger on her. That was good.

Currently, the teen was making her way home from her late night grocery run. Each time a car passed by, the lights made her squint instinctively. Vera took care to avoid places that were dark and suspicious, and opted to just stay on the sidewalk and blend in with the few people who were out this late.

Occasionally, she would study her surroundings for anything suspicious. Mortimus followed close behind Vera, as always.
It was an average night for Tyson, just another night trying to stay alive. He had made it this far and wasn't going to give up yet.

Tonight he was out collecting materials for his survival, just the necessities like food and water. He never carried too much at one time because he never stayed in one place. It was better for him that way, he never got attached to anyone or anything.

Tonight it seemed like there was nothing for him to salvage, he went everywhere he could think of to find supplies but all he found was two bottles of water and a can of beans. It wouldn't last him more than two days. He would have to find some more food, and quick. He walked for another half an hour with no luck. He decided to give up for the day and find a place to camp out.

He would stay keep a camp for a day or two at a time and then he packed up and moved again. It had worked for this long and he had no plan on changing what he did.
While going past an alley, she turned her head to see someone going through it.

Vera instantly halted.

For awhile she stared into it; curious, but mostly scared. She soon shook those feelings off, but she still couldn't help but stare into the abyss.

Ok Crawfield, no getting sidetracked. Get home, you'll be fine.

Finally, she resumed her way back home, still hoping she won't get jumped or anything.
