((If you want to post how your character deals with their downtime, that's also cool. We don't have to do this kind of deal in a fixed location. ))
He wandered restlessly through the halls, probably annoying his temporary neighbors... but then, maybe not. His own footsteps seemed loud to him, but only because all other sounds were so muted. The thin walls of this motel were irrelevant whenever she was near.
Enri sighed, face pulling into a lop-sided grimace. His hands went into his pockets to fidget with loose change and old gum wrappers as he started his personal ritual of checking his inventory. Keycard, housekeys, wallet, new gum, $2.48 in change. No items added. No items lost.
He scanned the hall, but saw no sign of Her Ghostly Eminence and continued on his walk. Amanita would remain invisible until she thought it necessary to be seen. And at this time of day, necessity was debatable.
The hunting seemed most concentrated at night, and those that prowled in broad daylight were easy enough to avoid. For him at least... According to the news, other sorry sods weren't so lucky. The rash of sudden accidents, attacks, and murders was finally making it to the media.
With so many dead, though, it was likely that most were mistaken identity...
Amanita had impressed the number 15 into Enri's understanding of this competition. Wrote it out and everything. Most terrifying thing he'd seen her do yet. With her lithe, lizard-y, not-people fingers.
Enri shuddered thinking about it.
At least by confining his activities to specific zones and moving hotels often, he'd remained unnoticed thus far. Or un-killed, at least. A few close calls early on had convinced him that he needed to stay away from his home of record. And no competitors had ambushed him since.
Hopefully, it stayed that way.

((just gonna slide something here, if you don't mind))
The green haired teen banged her head against the desk. Or at least, that's what she thought of doing. Every second that passed, was a second that Vera looked up at the clock. Oh, how much she wanted out. Vera began fidgeting even more than she did a moment ago.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, the sweet release of the school bell rang through the room. The students immediately leaped out of their seats and filed out of the room.
Two students made their way over to Vera at the doorway. One boy, a bit taller than her, and one girl, a tad bit shorter.
"Hey Vera? You free in a little bit?" The boy asked her.
Vera opened her mouth to say 'yes', but quickly shut it. As much as she wanted to hang out, she had become afraid ever since this competition ever started. Begrudgingly, she refused.
"Sorry Jae and Allie. Another time." Vera told them.
The teen turned away, and headed through the crowded halls.
Soon she reached the outside. Vera headed onto the sidewalk. While she walked, she thought about how lucky she was to have survived this long. Vera had no real useful means of self-defense, and she was only 17. Her mind wandered to the news of bodies turning up, mutilated to the point where they were barely recognizable.
But she quickly shook those thoughts off. She can't get too freaked out over this.
I'll weasel my way outta this. I always have.
But there was some part of her that thought otherwise.
