Any forum that is marked as "Maleable" is subject to the Paradigm Premise: That characters from any genre may appear, and take part in the unfolding stories, within the boundaries of the basic rules. (I use vampires as my example only because they're an obvious example of conflicting paradigms.):
Please feel free to use this thread to ask questions about these simple rules, or to discuss possible conflicts, or necessary changes to these rules.
- Your character's genre rules apply to your characters. (A WoD Vampire will fall into torpor if staked, as will an AD&D vamp or an Anne Rice Vampire. A BtVS vampire will die in a big cloud of dust. A human from any genre will die if you shove a stake through their chest. Please make a note on your character's genre, and source for any rules that apply before playing in a Maleable Realm.)
- In cases where genre paradigm rules simply conflict, then they will err on the side of least harm. (If a BtVS Slayer stakes a WoD vampire, Torpor will apply. But if a WoD Hunter stakes a BtVS vampire, the WoD rules win out, because of least harm, and again, the vampire is spared the POOF- Big pile of dust.)
- In cases where they directly oppose another's genre rules, both rules nullify. (An unstoppable force meeting an immovable object in the Nexus, would simply become mass-transparent. The one would pass harmlessly through the other.)
