The gods are the true rulers over the lands, deciding what will and will not happen. They hold total power over what they are associated with.
Werewolves of Lycana are different then the cliche fantasy werewolf. Each tribe, or pack, is associated with a certain element, be that earth, air, fire, water, etc. Each werewolf has a companion, or familiar, that is aligned with said element. For example, the tribe of the Lupine Embers have phoenix familiars. They also have magic, or power associated with the element as well. Each tribe is different when it comes to their wolf forms. The Lupine Embers are by far the largest, where the pups could easily stand around 6' at the shoulders. While the tribe of Lux Et Spiritu are the smallest, being about the size of the real world's wolves.
Pureblood: Werewolves that are born as werewolves. They have a stronger connection to their lands and gods, as well as their magic.
Turned: Turned to werewolves by being bit. Their powers are weaker then the Purebloods
Elves live along man in the three major cities of Lycana. They have powerful magic, which they use to hold most of the vampire race as slaves. Their egos are only accentuated by the fact the humans worship them as gods. They often hold high positions in society, believing all of the other races are below them.
The vampires of Lycana can walk in the sunlight without fear...of burning. They are in fact slaves to the elves, held only by their powerful magic. There are a few that are free, but they stay in the shadows to avoid being caught. They have a secret society where they plan their uprising against the elves, and their ageless fights with the werewolves. They can either be born as a vampire, or turned by bite.
The humans worship the elves like gods, angering the other races by doing so. Even the true gods are angered by this. Most are completely mundane, and are extremely religious.
Many animals inhabit the lands of Lycana, from the most magical of beasts, to the most mundane. But they are in fact animals, not humanoid. Only few species can even comprehend what a humanoid says, let alone speak.
